Taxi Driver (Two-Disc Collector's Edition) Deals?

I just got it today at Target for $18.??

I have never seen the movie but I've heard and read that it was good.

Now I hope they remaster the Dirty Harry movies.

Yeah I preordered from Familyvideo.com and I actually received the DVD on Monday along with Inland Empire. I was shocked, especially since I used the .99 cent shipping.

you probably have heard people doing imitations of deniro saying, "you talkin' to me? you talkin' to me? i dont see anyone else around so you must be talkin to me!"

it is an extremely violent film, probably the first that showed realistic details of blood and gore up close. if i say anything else it would be spoiling it for you. i think it got a few nominations for oscars, but lost.

I wanted to get this when it came out this week. But every store i checked was out of stock (or I guess they never got it in). I sold the old edition when I heard that there was a new version coming out, so I definitely need to get this.

I liked Casino. It's definitely not my favorite of his, but it's still great. I dunno how you mean toned down - if you mean gore, it's very bloody, way bloodier than Goodfellas and The Godfather. If you mean toned down as far as themes and quality, then I guess I would agree. I wouldn't trade Sharon Stone's role for nothing, though. Very annoying, but a great downward spiral. And it seemed like both De Niro and Pesci weren't the monologue type anymore.

Still, Casino had its moments. Like when Pesci kills someone with a pen. Or when Frank finally gets his revenge on Pesci by beating him with a baseball bat.

Casino was not as good as any of his other movies. Its main problem is Sharon Stone...I just cannot stand her in this movie.

JP and RD as usual are acting at such a great level. The end of this movie is classic, repeated many time on The Sopranos with many of the same actors (Frank Vincent, anyone...)

Taxi Driver is a great movie, and I almost bought it a few weeks back. I heard about this set, so I am wondering,w hat type of packaging does it come in? Standard 2 disc DVD case, or some fancy metal packaging with a slipcover? Also, and cool inserts?

it's a digipak

I don''t think anybody had the Taxi Driver DVD for sale

I got it at amazon for around $18.99

I just put it in my cart and applied for a money order so I can wait until Sept to pay for it

they usually send dvds in better condition with money orders compared to credit cards where they rush and send you any dvd in crappy condition

I want to get one of those Taxi Driver movie posters at ebay with De Niro standing on the street at night with the yellow taxi behind him

I bought that poster at allposters.com

I tried allposters a couple years ago and the scarface posters they mailed to me had creases all over them so I won't buy from them again

it seems at ebay you have to pay around $16 when you add shipping to the mix.

I'll just wait until it's in the bargain bin at Wal*Mart to pick it up... There's no way it'll sell well.. Because everyone that wants it probably already has it... I haven't seen it, so I'll pick it up then.

It's one of my all-time favorites too. After the movie came out they got so many lawsuit attempts because the character of Travis was so real that all these depressed and alienated people insisted the movie was based on their lives. I think the writer even got death threats.

And to the comment about Sharon Stone ruining Casino...so true. She's a fucking terrible actress.

Oh, and I hate to say it, but Robert Mitchum was better in the original Cape Fear than DeNiro was in the remake. The remake felt too campy and it sorta took away from DeNiro's performance.

Dude, this movie is fucking awesome. You won't be disappointed.

This is a really great movie, I bought it at Best Buy a while back when it was only 9 dollars. This has got to be my favorite Scorsese film.

I got this off of Amazon for 8.99 back in December. I'm sure if you're patient, you'll be able to find it for that price sometime down the road.

I have an extra sealed copy of the 2-Disc Collectors Edition. If anyone wants it just PM an offer and I will be more than willing to send it out.
