Can anyone recommend a good one? I have heard that the over-the-counter strips and things nowadays are pretty good, and there's no need to do any crazy stuff like laser whitening at the dentist.

I brush twice a day and floss and all that, don't drink soda, tea, or coffee, but my teeth just aren't very white like I want.

Crest Whitestrips!!!! They are the best. Now they have the premium edition of them so it whitens in only 7 days instead of 14 but it costs more. Go with the 14 day one and don't over use it cuz ur teeth get very very sensitive to everything especially cold stuff.

I ended up doing laser-whitening on mine recently because I was too lazy to deal with the strips :p

I've used whitening toothpaste forever and basically they don't work. It's just another gimmick to get you to buy it.

Save up and get the laser stuff.

i personally think that it is very superficial to worry that much about your teeth color, i mean teeth are not supposed to be piano key white.

yea i been wanting the laser stuff its like 200 -300 and your dental plan wont cover it.
anyone else have cheaper otc ideas??

i chew tobaccy smoke cigs(filterless) drink brandy coke and pepsi oreos everyday some skoal mint dip in my lip every 10 min and gargle with yagermeister

How much did that end up costing? I tried the strips and they only got my teeth one shade whiter.

Disgusting ... :puke:

You know, if you had brushed twice a day, flossed, and used Listerine like your dentist recommended from the start; you wouldn't be asking this question.

But who am I to talk. Look at my pus. I'm all gums!

Do it right and go to your dentist, don't just pick up "strips" and expect good results. By the way laser whitening isn't the only method available through your dentist. I have a plastic tray that was made from a mold of my top teeth, and I put in a gel and keep the tray on my teeth all night(now I think they have gels that only take an hour). Anyways, when I started my teeth had some stained areas, afterwards I had incredibly white teeth, people would comment ALL THE TIME on my teeth. When I first started using it, I used it every night for a couple weeks, now I use it every once in a while to re-whiten. Reminds me I need to whiten again.

I never heard of that, how long does the whitening last and how much does it cost?

Let me tell you, when I was 16 I bought into the whole teeth whitening craze and at 24, my teeth are see through in areas and I have cavities like a motherfucker.....GO TO YOUR DENTIST! Trust me on this one.

Yes I will go to the dentist for regular teeth cleaning and checkups. This isn't in place of that - it's totally separate.

I did try that teetch tray (made from mold of my teeth) with gel method many years ago, but it didn't work too well for me. I had heard that the whitening strips nowadays were better.

Teeth might not "supposed" to be that white, but they look much much better that way. Many of my friends and my wife have whiter teeth than me and it just looks good.

I use Crest Whitestrips too. I've only used them for a few days and I already notice a big difference. Years of coffee and cigs and the stain is already leaving. Just don't do this in place of regular dentist visits.

Take it from a dentist's son. Your teeth aren't as white because your enamel on them isn't quite as strong. That part is genetic, nothing you can do about it.

The crest white strips really work. I had a bleach kit to fix mine. (I was in an accident that killed my left front tooth, got really grey). THe bleach worked really well. My girlfriend smokes and wanted to fix hers up from being so yellow, she got he Crest Strips (extra strength). Wouldn't you know it, her's are just as white as mine got. Not game show host white, just not brown or yellow like they were.

This sounds like a freakin ad. Its the truth though.

That's not a very cheapass thing to do. [-X

I want all of you to know that laser whitening doesn't last forever. The procedure is too expensive, it's just not worth the money. Go with Crest Whitestrips, you'll get good results and the price is right...

I am calling BULLSHIT on this..

Do some homework Crest white strips are not as good as Night Effects whitening gel or whatver. It comes with little packets and small paintbrush type things you leave it on over night and will notice the difference the FIRST day.

Its exactly what the dentist used to use about 5-10 years ago. They have just allowed the product to be sold over the counter.

If you dont believe look at some survey results or even ask the dentist two dentists have told me the same thing Night Effects.
