Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection ONLINE!

Only problem is it's an extra 8$ for those who already purchased it, however, that is the market price right now and for 28$ to have an awesome on-line fighter such as this, can't complain.

this day in age... all fighting games need to be online. I would love it if Sega would do the same for VF 5; (although I bet its unlikely) if not VF 5, then at least virtua tennis.

Virtua Tennis is online on the 360. Is it not the same for the PS3?

Sega didn't implement it into the PS3 version.
BOOO! Which is why I didn't buy it.

That just went a huge way towards convincing me to pick up a PS3 sooner rather than later. Awesome, awesome, awesome.
Glad I waited to buy this, and I look forward to thrashing you all online.
See you there. :D
oddly, other than people in the fighting thread, I don't think CAG competition will be that great... no offense.
I'm looking forward to shouting "I've killed the general!!!" whenever I beat people at online games from now on

You may be right. But I'm so out of practice, personally, that I could use the lighter competition. God know's I've lost enough matches to a D+1 cock punch while I'm trying to finish with something esoteric.

If I might be wildly speculative for a moment, this probably bodes well for for more robust online in T6.
i'm guessing the "LIVE" in the lower left is when you watch a match... wonder if matches can be recorded.
Anyone know why they left that feature out of T5? That was the best part about T4.
Sega owns the patent to record matches in 3D games... (happened after T4)
so did Tecmo have to "rent" it from them for DoA4? that's pretty lame, but I guess business isn't about being nice and fair :)

For the first time in Tekken's history the game will be playable online. Several new modes are being added to the game: Opti Match, Quick Match, Custom Match, and Friend Match. While waiting in a lobby, players can view the current bout and study their opponent's techniques. Voice chat will be available so you don't have to call up your buddy in Albuquerque to gloat.

Single-player content is being added, too: a Practice Mode and Survival Mode, in which players take on opponents one after another without regenerating their health. The update, officially called Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online, will be available later this year for $9.99.

New update at SDTEKKEN.COM !

Special thanks to mukumuku, TEKKENBBS, and 2CH game fight posters for the following information!

TEKKEN 6 CHARACTER SPECIFIC INFO

ASUKA KAZAMA

* Asuka’s old f,f+2 from T5DR is now done by inputting SS+2.
* Her new f,f+2 is the 2nd hit from d/f+1,2 string in DR. On counter hit it shifts into the auto throw.
* New string, 2,1,1+2. The last hit throws the opponent down and can be cancelled.
* Asuka can now do the last kick of b+2,1+2,4 as a normal move.
* Most of her animation is the same as T5DR.

MARSHALL LAW

* Law has a new low, high string. His right foot kicks the opponent on their shin, the left leg then throws out a high kick. This move is from the final fight in Bruce Lee’s “Way of the Dragon” (Also called “Return of the Dragon”).
* Law had a new costume that was similar to the one where Bruce Lee fought Sammo Hung in “Game of Death.”
* His item move is done with the nunchaku. The animation is similar to Maxi’s movement in Soul Calibur.
* You can use Law’s item move infinitely. When you do the move Law takes out the nunchuaku to do the hit attack then hides it afterwards.
* Law’s movement/animation has changed and is more like Maxi’s movement from Soul Calibur.
* DSS/DFS seems to be the same as T5DR.
* The animation for b+1,2,1 is different.
* Many of the other moves have different animations as well.

RAVEN

* New move. FC 1+2, Raven vanishes for a short period of time. During the move you can input 4 and his d/f+3+4 from T5DR comes out. Inputting 2 during the move will give you his old d/f+1+2 from T5DR.
* The command of d/f+1+2 and d/f+3+4 are no longer there.

More updates coming soon! We still have untranslated information on Bruce and Hwoarang!

T5DR ONLINE NOT COMING NEXT WEEK :( !
June 21st, 2007

It seems that DENGEKI PLAYSTATION magazine printed an error in their most recent issue. Out of all the errors, it had to be that the release date for TEKKEN 5: DARK RESURRECTION ONLINE was incorrect and should have been listed as TBA. This makes millions of Tekken fans around the world unhappy. :(

So now the question is… when will we see Tekken 5: DR ONLINE come out?

I haven't played any of the MP but I am enjoying the SP portion of this game.

The game is challenging (I'm playing on Medium difficulty) but not to the point where I want to throw my controller out the window.

The level "Path of Least Resistance" was definitely what I wanted out of this game. The indoor levels are a nice change of pace from what I've played so far. Overall though, am enjoying the big, outdoor battles a lot more.
