Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection ONLINE!
so US in a week or so later?
Crap, I forgot that MarkMan downloaded the T5DR from Japan.

Hopefully we won't have to wait long for the update in the US.

Hmmm...Hopefully we get it by the end of the month. Its the only game I have on the PS3, and this, Tekken 5, and SF:Third Strike are the only games I've been playing on it. I can't wait to show you how Eddy plays (I'm lying, I'll get DESTROYED).

Looks like I better buy the game from the PSN store now and get some practice in. Then spend another what $10? for the add on content to get it online and the extra modes when it comes out. Is it cool if I add some of you Tekken fans to my friend list so maybe we can vs each other? Rather play with people I *sorta* know then complete strangers.
isn't there a tekken group here in CAG?...i thought i saw someone w/ some kind of a logo....:whistle2:k
Go to the Fighter Thread and pretty much everyone there is a Tekken player with MM being at the top of the food chain.

It's online now in Japan, and yes US ppl can use it to play other ppl all over the world.

Get online so I can bust you guys up... I've been playing for the last few hours...
 What is the exact release date for the US?
I'm not real sure but I heard next week sometime. If you see it before I do let me know in a message man, and I'll do the same.
Sega owns the patent to record matches in 3D games... (happened after T4)
Sorry for replying to such an old post, but wow, this makes me so mad and is just another example of how broken the patent system is. [cynical remarks about Sega vs. Namco painfully withheld]

keep in mind SEGA helped with Namco's Tekken.net system.
hey Markman, are there any lag when it comes to low parries? what about timing the throw linkers/counters? any issues on it?
I know I'm not Markman, but I've been playing online too. It kind of depends on the connection. If you're playing someone nearby with a good connection low parries, throw escapes, reversals, chickens, etc. aren't a problem. It's very playable in that case.

If the connection is bad, the person lives far away, or God forbids both, the game becomes pretty unplayable. You can literally see a slow low like Anna's d/b+3 or the limb on the throw and you won't be able to block/low parry or throw escape respectively. Juggling also gets to be impossible on a bad connection. I've played a couple of matches where I can't get a 1 to hit after a launch. It'll literally be launch>lag>lag>lag>character lands>lag>lag>lag>1.

I'd recommend playing someone with at least 2 bars. Even with two bars, the lag is noticeable. Playing someone with zero or one bar is just asking for a joystick thrown through your television/window/etc.

Like most online versions of offline games, you just have to accept that it's not the same game and use the online game as a way to play casually not competitively.

kewl man.. thx for the info...once i get my headset (w/c is soon) i'll start adding friends for TDR:eek:nline and get sum casuall matches :D
everyone that posts here that will have the game, add me.
Next week is when it's going online right?

I will definitely be buying this!
PSN => Darknyss

PS. What they REALLY need is Tekken Tag Tournament: Online. Best game in the series IMO.

While on the subject of T5DR... Japan's national tournament just finished early this morning...

It looks like the US version of T5DR Online might not come out until Thursday, August 23rd. I got an invite to a Namco Bandai Games Inc. media event in San Francisco that will be premiering a few online titles, Tekken 5: DR ONLINE being one of them... the event it set to take place on Tuesday, Aug. 21st.

So I'll be up in San Francisco... any good import shops there?

Man, why is the US version getting delayed so much?
Man, why is the US version getting delayed so much?
That's Namco for you. They took around 6 months to bring Tekken 4 and Soul Calibur II stateside before. It took them over 2 months to bring Tekken 5 DR on PS3 stateside. They just like to take forever.

I don't think there was ever a set date on it...they just said "late August"

I finally pulled the trigger and bought this since there is such a lack of PSN games. Really fun, but then again it is 20 dollars
geeze... I was looking forward to it this week as well >_< wanted some time with it before school started :(
tried to warn you with those "next next week" comments...
