Test Drive Unlimited 2 - Out Now!

3 weeks later patch 1 of... part 2 is out?

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-03-11-test-drive-unlimited-2-360-patch-out-now

Well at least you guys can play now without worry about your save being corrupted. Apparently the patch also fixed all save files that were previously corrupted. From the link it says Clubs,Co-Op Events and Casinos should be PERMANETLY online along with being able to constantly tag along with your friends *** AS OF MONDAY *** so still a few days to wait for that.

So let me know if we ever get that CAG club going. At least now the game will be playing like it should have on launch (though I'm still hoping for a car handling patch that was later released for TDU1 along with the Bikes).

Ok patch is LIVE but you have to download it under gameadons at the moment for whatever reason.
This patch is not small by any means (the first one was only 2mb) as this patch is 195mbs. This might have the free DLC cars promised for being such a huge file but I'm not sure

Also, CLUBS are UP and FUNCTIONAL. If we are going to get a CAG club let me know. Right now I've made a test club called PwnYew.

When I downloaded the patch last night, I froze up....sooo I log back in after a restart and servers are not available. Tried twice and recieved this message both times. Anyone experiencing this? It was about 930 eastern time last night. I bought this game launch week and have yet to put more then an hour into it.

Probably need to redownload the mandatory update again and not freeze up during it.

Yeah, I meant after it finished downloading. I couldn't get on the servers at all. didn't freeze during the actual download.

Everything has worked great. Online is functional, theres no lag that I've seen and everything is unlocked.

Some people have noted handling changes but I didn't notice anything. Once more DLC rolls in looks like I can finally recommend a purchase to those that waited.

Yeah I mean a purchase at $20-$25. It's a good game now that everything is mostly fixed but It's only slightly better then the first one - so not quite crackdown 2 level.

I like the addition of playing as a cop chasing people down (though getting the situations down without boosting is kinda rare), co-op modes (getting in the car with your friend having him drive around, keep your distance mode and other co-op modes) and just overall more multiplayer events.

It still sucks that you gotta go through licenses just to do events and theres no bikes yet but bikes are still planned for future DLC. Thats why I say DLC will make the game more robust but of course that means paying more money for that said DLC.

oh hell yeah! been holding off playing this until the patch game out (never had a problem tho!) I was pretty amazed to see a 'Mandatory Content Update' that had to be downloaded at 200mb. Once I was into the game, it was like it got new life. My real complaint was the sound. It was like when you were off road, they looped the same tire on the gravel sound effect over and over, I didn't notice this anymore. Whenever other online people were near me (before patch) the game would stutter and become a mess, now that is all gone as well! Only got to do one race last night, but I look forward to getting back into this game hardcore.

however, its too bad that this whole experience for everyone will likely cause this to be the last iteration of the game..oh well..

Glad to hear they finally updated. I have been playing Beyond Good and Evil. I'll have to give this another go and see if I can join a CAG club. How the hell is anyone supposed to get the money to buy every car in the game though? I don't have a Veyron, so I'm still useless when it comes to online challenges.

Idk if that's true. I think the last one didn't do too hot until the DLC started coming out. It's my understanding that the DLC is where they were banking all the big bucks. I would assume that after printing, packaging, shipping, and third parties, the actual game sales aren't amazing anyway.

I don't think it will be. They will release another and people will buy it, budget wise I can see the budget being lower with lower expectations. The patch has made me feel a lot better I'm just wishing for more content now and better handling which can both easily be improved.

A month later looks like a new patch is about ready to go out with free DLC

http://www.testdriveunlimited2.com/node/502

Features
20 new missions
2 new mission types: Extreme Convoy and Timed Convoy

2 new Multiplayer Races for the Lancia Stratos
DLC: Help channel in TDU media
Bikes dealer, Auction hall, clothes shop are in “under construction” mode (So Auctioning will be coming back eventually. As will Bikes, which would finally put this on par with TDU imho. Of course it won't be free sadly like this patch/dlc combo)
DLC2 Car dealers are present but not activated

Enhancements
Ability to sell duel cars
Co-driving unlocks roads for the passenger
Increased rewards in multi challenges and car restrictions
Free ride players’ names updated: lighter display

Fixes for instant challenges (off-road)
Impact sound after jump
Fixes for casino roulette exploits
Fix for Casino Level 10 cut scene crash
Properly initialize club cars in lobby list (to play club races with club cars)

Price has also dropped a bit since the games release.
It's $40 on Amazon but Gamestop has it for $30 new now.

At $20 It would be hard not to recommend for everyone, so we are getting there.

Still no word on control patchs or when those bike DLC/Auction houses will go out.

My friends played it a few weeks ago and said thanks to all the people that sold their game/stopped playing the servers are a lot more stable and have no issues with joining others/lag whatsoever.
