Texas Hold Em: XBLA - Free from 8/23 for 48 hours, 800 points afterwards
I hope people are reading it correctly. It's FREE for 48 Hours, then gives you the option to Trial or Buy It. Not FREE For 48 hours for unlimited play.
There would be no point in making it free for just 48 hrs. That's like the trial being only playable for a little while.
Wrong. It will be free after that time also.

"For 48 hours only – Wednesday, August 23 through to 6pm EST Friday, August 25 – as a special limited-time only promotion, gamers can download and own the game at no charge (for all Xbox Live Gold and Silver members). Starting at 6:01pm EST Friday, August 25, Texas Hold ‘em for Xbox Live Arcade will be available for 800 Microsoft Points."

I stand corrected, I thought it was Free for only 48 hours like a trial, but with online capabilities with it as well...
Hmmm....looks like they removed the PGR3 theme deck announcement. It's not where it was earlier. Wonder what happened with that?
The possible taking away of a new Uno deck makes baby Jesus cry.

Wild Draw 4 is my shepherd. I shall not Reverse.

Looking forward to downloading this even though I play all the time at the real sites like Full Tilt and Poker Stars. It will be nice to play the game over xbl without worrying about putting a hurtin on my bankroll.

Maybe they are changing the new deck to free as well. It should be.

Temporary reminder post (that I assume will turn into the TH'EM feedback thread once the free period is over)....no excuse not to get this one tomorrow. In case you've been under a rock, the game will be free for 48 hours, after that it costs 800 points.

The free download is the FULL GAME. It does not have limited features and it does not "expire."

Looking forward to this...we've needed another popular card game for a while. This should wind up surpassing Uno in playercount since it's free, and I'm sure they'll push it as THE game to use with the camera, at least at first.

Update 1: Preview here - looks good. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/726/726945p1.html (thanks Tyvan). I'm sure we'll get a tournament going in a few days.
What time will this launch? Midnight ET?
3 AM EST is about the time they usually release arcade games.

This full-featured poker title for Xbox Live Arcade on Xbox 360 will launch on Wednesday, 23rd August at 0800 GMT / 0900 CET. For 48 hours only – Wednesday, 23rd August until 0800 GMT/0900 CET on Friday, 25th August– as a special limited-time only promotion - gamers can download (and own) the game at no charge (for all Xbox Live Gold and Silver members). Starting at 0801 GMT / 0901 CET Friday, 25th August, ‘Texas Hold ‘em’ for Xbox Live Arcade will be available for 800 Microsoft Points.

I am leaving tomorrow for NH at 5 in the morning. I will be up all night waiting for this to come out. If not I will put my xbox profile on my memory card and drop it offf at my friends house and have him dl it for me. This will be pretty great. Even for $10 it sounds like a really great game.

I'm hoping to get my camera in the mall tomorrow, so how about all the people with cameras have a little wednesday night poker night.

Anyone else burning the midnight oil for this one? The official time for release is 4am EST, but MS and partners have been known to release stuff a bit early... (Remember the free MS points from Verizon a few months back?)
I wish I knew how to play texas hold'em
First tip if you get a 7-2 off suit, always go all-in.
I wish I knew how to play texas hold'em
Yeah, anyone know of any good tutorials? The wiki seems pretty good so I'll go over that tomorrow.

(Doesn't know jack shit about poker)

Who should I excpect to see on tonight? maybe get a group of 4 of us to play some uno or Street fighter until this hits, then we can play some good ol texas hold em once it comes out.
I'll be there at midnight tonight.

Maybe they are changing the new deck to free as well. It should be.
I wouldn't mind paying 100 points or less for it, just as long as it has a new set of rules too (like the 40th anniversary deck).
6 pm Wednesday is what it says on xbox.com
4 am here

Just released. Dl speed was not bad at all (about 1% per second). I am soooo happy to have gotten it for free. I think it will take longer to dl during the day. I may play a few rounds before calling it a night (err morning).

Seems like there is no Vision camera support, at least not yet.
Otherwise, a fun game, especially for free.
