I'm lookin' for an N64 game I played all the time at my friend's house. It was something like GTX64, but that wasn't it. It was with cars (motorcycles, rather) and they had a bunch of weapons. It was loads of fun to play multiplayer, and I think the game itself was aimed at being multi. It also had single player, which was called "Training" where you had to shoot up a bunch of robots or something.

It's a great game, and I'd like to find it again in time for Thanksgiving to play it on my 10' screen projector which I'm building (just got the lamp working today, hurrah!). :D

Thanks in advance.

Maybe the Extreme G series? That was a pair of pretty fun (at the time) N64 racers with weaponized motorcycles. But I don't remember a training mode...

Ah, close. But really hot.

Extreme G2. Man, I loved that game. Many thanks, my friend!

EDIT: Beaten to the punch. Yeah, it was XG2. I always got it confused with GTR or something. Bah. I've never played Extreme G (the original one). How does it compare with the sequel?

Better gameplay, to tell you the truth. It was a bit more stripped down; less weapons, but better racing, and the less complex tracks made for better zoning out with the techno. I loved it back in the day, and was deeply disappointed with XG2 and then XG3 (for the PS2).

The first was my favorite.

Here is a little overview:

Extreme G - Better framerate, lots of fun, better multiplayer battles, definitely check it out.

Extreme G 2 (XG2) - Better graphics, bad framerate, tons of tracks, breaking the sound barrier is a lot of fun, tons of cycles, multiplayer battles sucked because once you got the railgun weapon you won.

Extreme G 3 (XG3) (GC) - The best of the series! It's everything that Acclaim wanted to do for XG2 but couldn't because of being limited by the n64,

Extreme G 4 (XGRA) (GC) - Different approach, a lot of fun, but gameplay is worse than XG3. One of the best soundtracks in any game!
I really wanted to like the one on Gamecube but it was trash
Which Extreme G game on GameCube? There were two. XG3 was better than XGRA, but both were definitely not trash.

XG3. It reminded me a lot of Star Wars Ep1 Racer which I really liked. Unfortunately I found myself bored to tears and constantly out of ammo so the weapon aspect was moot most of the time.
maybe it was vigilante 8
This is what I was thinking, but like the post above my post. I'm not sure it had motorcycles.
