That Triple E3 2008 Thread

Yeah at first I was getting pissed, but honestly I don't care about the HDD capacity, I got my PS3 MGS4 bundle for the BC.

Part of the bonus I got today was going toward a PS3. Guess I need to save it for a few months.

Only thing missing was some actual game play of god of war 3 instead of a trailer,but overall it wasn't even half as bad as nintendo. I do like the idea of movie, and tv show downloads,but it sounds like they are just copying microsoft...

Was better then Nintendo, but not Microsoft.

Liked Resistance 2, LBP, MAG and GoW3. Was pretty funny how 70% of the show was Jack Trenton. What's the matter Sony, everyone jump ship or change positions?

Sony did good, and I'd say that their show wasn't as exciting as MS' show (due to their big Surprise) but seemed to me Sony had more content. and hell the video services goes live tonight.... (proabably tomorrow if he was talking in PDT time)
 
MAG has potential and while it was cool to see anything on God of War 3, it's just a total cocktease that showed absolutely nothing. And while it was cool to see Little Big Planet again, this is the third E3 we've seen it at isn't it? I was really hoping for some "oh shit" moments with some brand new amazing looking games, but honestly nobody really had that this year which is disappointing.

Right now, I'd rank the conferences Microsoft > Sony >>>>>> Nintendo. Microsoft really didn't have anything new, but exclusive DLC for Fallout 3 and at least 2 pretty big exclusives I want this fall, plus the GTA4 DLC still put it ahead of the other two in my book. Plus, that FFXIII announcement was the closest thing to an "oh shit" moment thus far.

Think of it this way:

The current 80GB system goes bye-bye.

The current 40GB system stays the same price, gets a larger HDD.

This includes all the other hardware staying constant (the $400 80GB PS3 will not play any PS2 games, will feature two USB ports instead of 4, etc.).
 
count me in for Fat Princess... game looks like tightwork. Since I don't have cable, it'll be nice to download a movie or two. But... one thing I noticed is that you can't buy a movie in HD, and that's the way to protect the Blu Ray market.
 
Well, that wasn't too exciting - isn't there anyone else they could have put up there with Tretton to co-host?

I got the feeling they didn't originally plan to talk about God of War III at all until yesterday's bombshell. It was just kind of near the middle-end of the show and the intro was basically - "here's a trailer" - and there's no way that's coming out any time soon with only 10 seconds of CG shown. Maybe (hopefully) they're saving more Japan-centric games for TGS. Little Big Planet and Infamous still look awesome at least.
