I think the point is that the officiating was equally shitty on both sides of the ball and that they are not biased towards a team. He didn't say the officiating was good, he just said it was even. No one can argue that the officiating in the NBA is absolutely terrible, but to claim its biased seems to be the purview of the one-team fan.

...I can't believe I'm standing up for Soodmeg
Hear that kids, wear your mittens beacuse hell has frozen over.
I hear what you are saying. The problem is that he said the officiating was as fair as any he has seen in the last 10 years. He has basically implied that the officiating was good. He also seems to be basing his argument off of the fact that an even number of fouls were called on both teams, which means absolutely nothing about the quality of officiating.
Bard is right. Yes, I said it was fair....I never said it was good. If you are going to make shitty calls than the most fair thing you can do is make shitty calls for both teams. The game had a lot of petty fouls in it but at the very least those calls were going against both teams early and often.

I dont know what more you can want. It seems that the NBA will only get worse as far as officiating goes so at the very least they should screw over both teams.

Also, sorry for calling you a dumbass..less of a insult and more of a casual jab.

Wow, seriously? That kinda bullshit shouldnt be allowed on the radio. Can you show a little professionalism. Also, for seemingly hating him he seems to have no problem saying his name 15 times in one sentence.
Dwayne Wade goes for 40+ and hits the game winner to beat the Hawks tonight.
You shoulda called in a bet on the 40+ haha

I missed the 2nd half but I'm surprised Bibby ended up with just 20 points. I think he had like 18-19 at halftime, so he must've gone cold the entire 2nd half, yeeeesh

That call on Pierce when Hinrich tripped over himself might've been the worst I've ever seen. Not in terms of impact on the game (Hinrich missed both FT's) but that was awful. Pierce wasn't within 5 feet of him when he tripped over his own feet.
dafoomie made me spit my beer everywhere with
"...He was fatter last year. He works out like a machine but he goes home and eats 3 boxes of Ho Ho's, Ding-Dong's, Yodels, and Cupcakes with his 5 pizzas.

I used to live near the Celtics training facility, the guy doesn't know the meaning of the word nutrition..."

For some reason I got this mental image of Shaq eating like 9 big macs to the tune on Nom Nom Nom...

Well good game Bulls

Now let's all see if Portland can pull through...
Big Baby's next product endorsement will be for Hostess.

Now, the Bulls have been screwed out of a point in this game. The possession where Ben Gordon double dribbled before shooting a 3, he only got 2. He was a good 2 feet behind the line, the league has already reviewed it and called it an uncorrectable error. So if the Bulls lose by 1... Well whatever, it should've been a double dribble anyway. But that notwithstanding they did get screwed out of a point.

Unless Paul Pierce's legs are 5 feet long then I'd say he was closer than that. The replay clearly showed Pierce's foot clipping Hinrich's. Was it a foul, no I don't think so, but there was contact. But I of course wouldn't expect a Boston homer piece of shit like dafoomie to see this.

What does the ref raising his arm have to do with if there was contact or not? I'm debating on if there was contact not if the call was a good one or not.

OH MAN they gave Gordon the 3 at halftime. Here come DA BULLS......... lol jk. Stick a fork in my Bulls this game is over. Oh well, they have a bright future at least, well Derrick Rose does anyways.

If the foul is on the contact then why wait 5 steps to call it?

Because that's what the refs have been doing all series? There have been a ton of very late foul calls all series, on both teams.

Noah and Miller just smashed Rondo on consecutive plays. Nobody'll bat an eye though.

Not that I want a suspension or a flagrant on either one. I'm just happy they were both called at all.

I understand its game 7, they're not going to call hard fouls when they're trying to punish Rondo and wear him out. But they're going to T up Rondo and Eddie House?

Look at the Bulls bench, all standing at the line yelling things into Eddie's ear. And they call House for turning around and saying something? Come on. Double technical or don't call it at all.

Ugh, just got home from work.

All I saw was a Eddie House tech for apparently taunting. Seriously.....taunting calls are always retarded. Family friendly bullshit.

No, Mutombo your finger wang tells kids its ok to make fun of each other please dont do it.

Also, a non driving Paul Pierce is a waste of time. I swear that guy makes the worst decisions every on offense when he gets lazy. He "rest" in the high post for what seams like ever and then winds up shooting a fade away jump shot almost every time.

I guess calling a technical on the Bulls bench is too much effort by the refs to do ya know.

They don't have KG to draw a defender out of the paint for him, they can help off of Big Baby and Perkins. But the larger issue is that he's banged up. You can really see it when he takes those jumpshots, Big Baby Davis gets more lift than Pierce does right now. Rondo was driving more earlier in the series but he's gassed.

This walking the ball down the floor and dribbling until 10-12 seconds on the shot clock is killing them though.

Did they amputate a foot off of Ben Gordon? Because he can't take a shot without falling down.

These refs are just terrible. I wouldn't want them calling any NBA game. Foul after foul after foul are questionable on both sides.

These refs are ridiculous. They go from calling nothing to calling absolutely everything all of a sudden.

Aaaaannnndd its over with that miss from Gordon.

I think the Bulls may be able to get 15 fouls in one quarter. I don't know if I've ever seen that. These refs are calling this 4th quarter way too close on both sides.

See ya Bulls!

Great series, but it's a shame the 1st round games tend to be the most exciting/interesting in the whole playoffs.

Hmm I expect the Celtics to beat the Magic next round, the Magic are kind of inconsistent crap. The Cavaliers will shove the ball straight up the Celtics ass in the Conference finals however. Cavs in 6 in that one.

Brad Miller can suck my dick.
I wanted to punch Noah every time I saw his face but I respect what he brought.
The rest of the Bulls fought hard and should be proud of themselves.

Great series, best 1st round series ever. These guys have nothing left, my expectations for them are to get to the Cavs but I'm not sure how they can get by Orlando like this.

Fair enough. After this series Rajon Rondo is my most hated player in the NBA. I want to punch that little bitch right in the face.

You'd want to hit anyone that averages a triple double against you. Theres nothing dirty about his game.

The Suns may have technically drafted him but that deal was worked out well in advance, the Suns drafted him for the Celtics. Their cheap ownership may have sold that pick to them but they had no intention of drafting him either way.

You're not telling me anything I don't know, dafoomie. I'm still annoyed by Sarver's cheapness. "...but they had no intention of drafting him either way." And you are basing this on...?

Rondo was considered a bit of a reach, at the time Marcus Williams was considered the best passer of the draft and people were stunned when he fell to 22. The trade was worked out in advance so they'd draft him on behalf of the Celtics, they certainly would not have drafted a point guard with Steve Nash there anyway.

The guys they wanted were Thabo Sefolosha, Shannon Brown, and Rodney Carney. I know this because of a funny story involving Isiah Thomas and the Knicks, he drafted a stiff at 20 and justified it by saying the Suns wanted him at 21, when everyone knew the guy was late 2nd round material. D'Antoni denied it and those 3 names came out.

That comment is one of the most blatant examples of blind homerism that I have ever seen:

Rondo shouldn't have even been playing in game 7.

That being said, I just finished watching game 7 about an hour ago from the DVR since I was unable to watch live. I'm really proud of the Bulls for playing so well in what was undoubtedly the best first round series of all time. But it really sucks that the officiating decided at least 1 game, if not 2, and then the officiating in game 7, as others have said, was horrible for both sides.
