Yeah, you have a point there. It's just ridiculous how much talent the Suns have missed out on in the past few years of the draft, all to save money. I'm still annoyed about the Kurt Thomas dump.

Bulls played awful last night. They're never consistent. The series was good but IMO can't hold a candle to the excitement of the Jordan days.

He's a small, quick point guard. There is only so much dirty that can come out of that position, if you're looking for a dirty, nasty, tough player on the Celtics then look at Perkins. He's damn good at it.

What he did wasn't anything that Hinrich, Miller, or Noah didn't do in that series. Its playoff basketball.

Sorry, but any player, regardless of size, can be dirty. To suggest that a player can't be dirty because he's smaller is ridiculous. Rondo was a complete dick in the series, and started acting like he was supposed to get all the calls.

And here is why the Bulls-Celtics is not one of the greatest series ever: No great teams were present. The Bulls cant even be considered a "good" team. They don't play team ball at all. Ball got into Gordon or Salmon's hands? You can forget ever seeing it passed back out. It's going to be dribble around for 15 seconds and shoot, or just shoot. And the Celtics are not the Celtics of last year. They're too thin and worn down to be a real contender. The fact that a bad team like the Bulls could push them this far says how depleted the Celtics are. Ray Allen saved them by getting hot over the course of the series.

Yes, it's entertaining to watch last second shot after last second shot, but that only makes it an entertaining series, not a great one. It was a match-up of two teams that aren't all that good right now bashing against each other.

Anyway, Rondo does need to show some more self control in the future, but he's not in the Bruce Bowen/Trevor Ariza category yet.
 
Good to see Rondo can try and act like some punk but can't take it in return....

Buddies and I are watching the game and see him get a rough foul on him from Miller and he milks it like a soccer player....seriously Rondo.....?

Nonetheless the Magic will win Game 1.
 
Bulls-Celtics was one of the closest series ever, but not one of the greatest, for the reason BigSpoonyBard said.

If you're going to compare John Stockton to Rajon Rondo, you haven't seen neraly enough of either one. Stockton would a set a screen at your knees.

It's also true that there's lots of things not allowed anymore, but the precedent is there.

I should've said that Rondo's game doesn't put him in a position to be that dirty like a Stockton, he's not setting screens down low all the time. If we're going to talk about dirty guards in the NBA now, we'd have to look at Rip Hamilton who keeps his fingernails long and sharp in order to scratch guys on their shooting arm.

Not a bash on Rondo.....kid can ball but if you want to stop him just go under the screen and let him pull a jumper. He's horrible at jumpers.....some people can shoot em' consistently and some can't.....he's one of those that can't and never will.

Its not quite that simple, but Orlando would let Rondo take jumpshots all day if they could. He's a better shooter now than he was last year but he needs to continue improving that part of his game.

I give him credit for telling the trainer he didn't want to go back to the locker room and instead toughs it out with a bit of stiffness. Nice to see the Lakers fans in the entryway applauding his return. No one wants a serious injury.

Lakers just aren't playing well enough. Shots aren't dropping consistently, and the defense is inconsistent.

Yeah he was. I'm glad I got to watch all those games. Damn it was a fun time to be a Bulls fan and living in Chicago.
 
I think too much time off before tonight hurt LA, but that's no excuse. The Lakers just got outplayed on their home floor. I expected this series to go 6, but I wasn't worried that Houston would win until tonight. It's amazing how much better this team is without Tracy McGrady.
 
God, I hope the lakers loose. Shit would be funny. Rockets are playing pretty good basketball which leads me to this question.

What do you think they should do with T-Mac? They have proved that they clearly do not need him what so ever....and more importantly they dont need his contract. One of which could probably net them 2 or 3 quality role players that would get them over the hump.

Think if they had a James Posey or something.

As much as I like T-mac, I think they should trade him to a struggling team and get some quality players back. Yeah, Yao will lose his good friend but he should get over it while winning a championship with better role players around him.

Gasol and Bynum need to step the fuck up already. Too many of these turnaround jumpers/hooks and less effort trying to get to the rim.

2/18 from 3 pt. land won't do it either (duh). I felt like they fell into the same problem as the Magic did, failing to knock down a number of open threes while the other team was able to do it bringing momentum shifts along with em'

Also, Vujacic needs to stop with the unnecessary fouls. I wonder what ever happened to "the machine" :p I think if he cuts his hair he'll do better ;)

I do hope this serves as a wake up call for the Lakers, they've been playing without any enthusiasm for awhile excluding Kobe. It's like if it comes, it comes, but if it doesn't go in, oh well, it's just an off day; There's just no sense of urgency, or at least I don't see it.
 
Lakers still lack the mental/physical strength to be considered a serious contender...

You're telling me the Cavs come out like that? Not a chance. Were just wasting everyone's time.....give the Cavs the championship.

They should trade T-Mac and get a TEAM player...say Chris Paul or steve nash

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. He has a expiring contract that can net some great quality role players in the summer for a team that is struggling.

Steve Nash and Chris Paul are completely out of the question....this isnt a video game man.

Think of niche players, Thad Young of the 76ers, Jason Terry (kinda of a stretch but yeah) Tyson Chandler of the Hornets sounds like the best bet. They were looking to push him anyway and I am sure Yao would love another force in the block that can push people around.

Hell for T-mac you might be able to get 2 people.
 
Wouldn't shocked if Paul is traded....the NO team is in such bad shape due to the economy they'll basically give West away.

Alston might be facing a suspension for that silly slap, but after seeing Rondo and Eddie House shit all over him, I hope not.
 
That has to be a ejections for Fisher. Come on now. Thats bullshit, there is no way you can just check a guy for no reason what so ever.

Thats exactly like the elbow from Howard. Maybe a suspension should be in order its right on the border.

Fish checked him for no reason in the middle of the court. It was obvious that he just wanted to inflict pain which is one of the things they look for in suspensions.

EDIT: Wow, that was a horrid call on that charge with Lowery. Farmar was clearly in the restricted area with his heels.

EDIT 2: Wow, how the fuck do you throw Artest out for walking over to a guy? So what you are saying is the Fisher checking Scola to the ground is the same as Artest simply walking over the Kobe and jawing? Thats a little harsh buddy.

Why didnt you throw Scola, Walton and Odem out the first time?

along with hitting a guy in the head when the ball was already out of his hand?
yeah if fish is ejected then rondo shouldve been ejected for his bs and same for howard but he got a suspension
