If you're going to risk giving a foul with two seconds left, at least make sure it looks like a foul. Don't half-heartedly lean your body into a player moving horizontally along yourself.

It only looked like he was playing tough defense, he didn't even try to get his hands in there. Dallas has no right to bitch.

Watch the replay, he slapped his arm causing 'Melo to miss a dribble, that is a foul, Mavs got screwed.
Now I don't want to get into the officiating hate fest but fuck that shit.

Just announced during the Cav's game Yao, hairline fracture/done for the playoffs.

Sitting somewhere atop a pile of cash, Tracy McGrady lets out a sigh of relief.

fuck. Can we just skip the rest of this playoff round now?

Puh-lease, and on top of it being a featherweight foul, Wright stopped playing D even though there was no whistle. The entire play was half-assed and they have no excuse.

Damn shame about Yao. He showed some real toughness this series, being unwilling to leave the game twice when it was apparent he was hurting. I was never much of a fan of his, but he earned some respect from me this series. Some of these guys are just too big for their own bodies, and injuries just happen too easily.

On the plus side, maybe Bynum will be able to play more than 4 minutes a game now.

Im sorry he fouled Melo twice. There is no excuse for the refs blowing a game deciding call like that. Yes the mavs should have put that game away in the 4th, but the refs gave that game to Denver with that play.
Rockets are down with Yao, since we all know Artest can't carry the team...
Yeah Rockets are done.

Son of a bitch. Sigh, there is nothing you can do. Like it was said above some of these guys are simply too damn big. Just too big for his own good.

At least he made it through the season.

The biggest thing is this, the Rockets need to get another legit big man who can spell Yao off the block. A guy like Yao shouldnt be carrying your team the way he does, he is just too injury prone. They need to manage his minutes for top preformance without straining him.

At least they got out of the first round......congrats Rockets on a hell of a season. More congrats on to Yao for excellent toughness and effort.

Dear god, the Lakers are apathetic (and quite pathetic in the process) about winning. As much as I want them to win it all, they sure as hell don't deserve it. Credit the Rockets for playing their asses off, but the Lakers still lack toughness, both mental and physical.

FAIL Orlando, MAJOR FAIL!

I don't care who wins in the East but seeing them blow another game at the end is just sad.

Lakers better get their shit together tonight.

If anyone needed to see how important experience is in the playoffs, watch this series. Orlando has a regular season mentality and no sense of the importance of the moment.

this is exactly what should've happened in game 4
lakers just gotta keep this up for the rest of the playoffs instead of playing like bitches

Ain't happenin.....don't act like the Cavs/Nuggets weren't watching this game and laughing at the fact that after every basket the Lakers were celebrating like they won the championship.....you beat a team without their top two centers?

People don't realize that this Nuggets team can stand up to the Lakers.....the Rockets have only Battier/Scola (Artest is a fake thug) who can stand up....but the Nuggets?

Billups
Nene
Martin
Smith
Anthony
Birdman

All of those are tougher than any of the Lakers crew....you think if Kobe drops a "he can't guard me" he's not getting popped?

The Cavs better hope they play the Celtics....they can't match up with the Magic.

the lakers probably have the most talented team in the playoffs...the problem is they're all pansys psychologically

Thats a good line up but still the lakers are a better team. I think that the Celtics will win the series and get rolled by the Cavs. If the Lakers don't make it out of the western conference playoffs my money is on the Cavs

You see after the Cavs sweep over the Atl Hawks game on TNT, I will have to agree with what Kenny said on Inside the NBA.. For the Cavs they fought against teams that dont really have anybody and really just can't fight back. But now that the Cavs are in the Eastern Conference finals it would be very interesting to see and a real test to see them fight against a Boston Celtics or Magic team that can fight back and have experience in the playoffs. In addition to having team members that are willing to put in the effort to win.

So right now imo im still 50/50 on the Cavs performance and better team motto until they play against either Boston Celtics or Orlando Magic

http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/9571230/NBA:-Mavs,-Nuggets-won't-be-punished

Any thoughts? Personally, if the owner can hurl insults at a fan, and more so, an opposing player's mother, I think he needs some type of reprimand; Not just "Oh, I apologize" and that's it. In recent games where players have had emotions escalate over words on the court, Cuban's actions possibly accentuated the crowd's hostility towards the opposing team's fans.

I'm not going to touch the race card being played though, I don't want to go there :X

Btw, I didn't like Cuban's apology from a BLOG and with the added statement "When the series comes back to Dallas, your family, and the family of other Nuggets players are welcome to stay in my suite, with my family." That can be taken lightly, but it can also be taken as a smart ass comment; If he didn't mean it to be a snide comment, he should have worded it differently, or better, just apologize IN PERSON.

I'm not all heated up over it, I'm just picking at it.

Cavs
Take out James...what sort of team is it now....Besides Mayo who are they going to turn to Wally? Big Ben? LOL

Lakers
take out Kobe...they still have more talent starters and bench players combined.

I understand why everyone is mad about this but to me it just doesnt matter. Cuban is gonna be Cuban thats never gonna change. He has been fined many many times and he still is wildin out.

Lakers are out in the 1st round without Kobe.

The Celtics on the other hand, they can limp past the 1st round and steal a 2nd round series against a more talented but inexperienced team without KG. I'd have been disappointed if they didn't at least make it to the conference finals to face the Cavs. They won't win another championship without KG but at least they won't lose to some pretender.

How bad is Stan Van Gundy by the way? Shaq was right, he's the master of panic.
Lakers are out in the 1st round without Kobe.
I think I agree.. but that's moreso because the Lakers have more competition to play against in the West than they would as an Eastern team.

I agree that without LeBron the Cavs would have been a seventh or eighth seed (both in regular season win total and play quality) but to assume that Williams is the only other offensive option is wrong. West has been in almost every way equal to Mo this year, and plays better defense on top of that. While neither one can go one-on-five like LeBron did in season's past running a sound play with multiple options I can still see them succeeding to a degree.

The Cavs' front-court is either too old or too young to carry the team, but for once the guards have played well.

With the Lakers, at least Pau is somewhat reliable option down-low. When they're playing well Odom and Fisher can come up big and late in games. Without Kobe though, the Lakers wouldn't have made it past Utah.

I loved how the Denver fans were chanting "Beat LA!" at the end of the game, they ripped off the Celtics :/

Every series is a test for the Lakers to see if they actually have some cojones or they just think they can coast by. I honestly feel that if the Lakers can soundly win the West and make it to the Finals, they're gonna take it all, Cavs or Celtics.

It probably won't happen though, and I can see the Western Finals going 6-7 games. Denver is going to really make it hard for the Lakers, and a lot of people will probably suffer from high blood pressure by the time it's over and done with. Vujacic needs to find his shot, cut his hair, and not make petty fouls on defense, Farmar should start and Fisher be a bench player because he's just slowed down and Farmar has made a case to get more minutes with his energy and hustle, Gasol has to continue to be aggressive and jump once in a while on defense since he likes to just wave his hands in the air, Odom's gotta keep it up cuz he's a versatile big guy and bring down those rebounds, Walton has to not lose the ball, find a way to play Brown more because damn he's been making big shots all postseason, and Ariza's gotta keep bringing the pain and keep the Lakers fire burning.

As much fun as it is to see Kobe driving in, there are more than enough times where he should just kick the ball out. The Lakers do have a lot going for them, they just have to be consistent about it.

Being Californian, I gotta root for my Lakers (and the Golden State Warriors.. but yeah, not going to touch on that now). I'm a realist, and to be honest, with the Nuggets playing the way they are now.. I'm going to have to vote Nuggets in 7. The Laker/Rocket series should have ended in game 5, no joke, I really don't know what my Lakers are doing. They're really going to need to step their game up if they wanna take out the Nuggets; Fisher's gotta contribute like the multi-champion he is, and Bynum needs to put up the numbers like he used to. As for the Laker bench, I don't really expect much, they just gotta put up moderate numbers and the series is theirs. Nuggets: Keep doing what they're doing, it's good stuff.

Eastern Conference: Cavs in 6. LeBron is brilliant. Don't like the guy but he deserved that MVP trophy. Celtics have been struggling without KG and as mentioned before, they're not about to win another set of rings without the big man.

To be honest, I see the Cavs going all the way. This is the year for them, it seems like nothing is going to stop them. LeBron is a beast and he looks as good as ever. Nothing's gonna stop him.

Can't wait for the game 6's tomorrow. If the basketball gods are willing, series should both end tomorrow. The Magic however, may surprise us and push it to a game 7.

Yea, being a Laker fan, it's like you want to say they'll win it all, but they just don't show that hunger to win it, and if they do, it's a flash in the pan and inconsistent.

Even if the Magic can magically push it to a Game 7, they're still done.

Everyone counted the Celts out of this years playoffs due to Garnett's injury *powe too* and the Bulls pushing them to seven games in a very close series. Nevertheless they have a chance to elimiate Orlando tomorrow and win a date with the Cavs. Expect the Magic to feed D12 early.
I think I agree.. but that's moreso because the Lakers have more competition to play against in the West than they would as an Eastern team.
There are more middling teams in the West but there are (were) 2 elite teams in the East and just 1 in the West. Theres the Lakers, Celtics, and Cavs, and theres everybody else.

Really, what is going on with this league?? Every call in this game is total fuck

Did you see that technical foul on Kobe and that last foul on Farmar? Farmar didnt even touch him and a foul.

Seriously this NBA league is a complete JOKE! Specifically the Playoffs
Come on Lakers, don't pull this shit again.
Seriously. This is some garbage basketball on the Laker's part.

Anyone see that technical on Kobe? Artest deserves an Oscar for that one. He got brushed and he literally fell back into the stands. Fool can't handle Kobe so has to resort to his pussy tactics. The refs should know better than calling that technical and foul on Kobe. But.. they were probably scared that Artest would come at them.

Lakers better step their game up in the second half. They don't need an extended series because they have another challenge coming up: the Nuggets.

I almost broke my tv on that call. What the hell. Yes Lakers need to win tonight because it only gets tougher. The Nuggets are a better team than the Rockets
