GS FAQ

Where is the weekly ad?
They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

I can't find a trade in value for an item?
It might not be tradable or calling a store to find the value may be the only option.

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

Are there trade limits?
Yes, $500 cash minus some electronic trade ins and or $2000 trade credit in a rolling 30 day period.

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

What I don’t understand is their good sales occur on non pro weeks. And pro weeks usually suck. You’d think it would be the other way around

For as long as I can remember, Gamestop has treated thier customers like mouth breathing morons who can barely put three words together

  • Get $10 in rewards if you buy a $50 or up gamestop gift card.
  • 4 for $20 ($9.99 and under games)
  • 4 for $10 ($4.99 and under games)
  • 20% extra trade bonus (20% is max, which is worse than last week which was 30% max)
That's the PRO WEEK deals.
Man they just keep making things weak ugh

Where did you find this? The banner only said $15 coupon. That's a dealbreaker for me.

It's at the bottom of the deals page.

*Earn A $15 Coupon when you buy a subscription to Game Informer in print: Must be an active GameStop Pro Member as of 6.16.24. Must enroll in a new Game Informer Print Subscriber from 6.9.24-6.15.24 using the same email address as your GameStop Pro account to be eligible. A single use coupon for $15 off one order of $50+ will be added to the account associated with the matching email address by 6.30.24 and will be valid until 7.27.24. Coupon can be used in-store only on one item. Some exclusions will apply. Limit one per customer.

Costs $25 for renewing Pro...
*Get Pro $5 discount...
Costs $20 for subbing GI...
Get GI $15 rebate...

Essentially, you're paying $25 for a normal Pro membership which originally comes with a normal GI subscription. Not really a deal when GS is merely shifting perks and benefits around like they always do just to make them look "Wow, this is new!" Shit is still shit no matter how different you paint it.

Edit:
*Applies to first-time membership subscribers only

I suppose the bonus $10 for loading $50 onto a GS gift card is something, but after factoring everything mentioned you'll just be benefiting from a meager $5 bonus for all that effort put in in the end and if you really care about physical magazines.

It looks like GS added another incentive when applying for their credit card; however, I emphasize "looks like" because the fine print reads: "Must be enrolled in GameStop Pro" or "Must enroll in GameStop Pro". If I'm understanding correctly...you have to have a Pro subscription membership already prior to applying for the credit card in order to receive the $25 intro bonus? Otherwise, you'll just receive the free year of Pro and nothing else?

Terms and conditions say $15 off any order of $50 or more, not just game informer subscription

I still follow them on Twitter and now when I get notices of sales for "Pro members only" I immeadiately clear the notice whereas before I would at least look.

Thanks Gamestop for saving me time from browsing your sales!

Joy Con refurb fee yesterday was only $4.80 compared to the previous $12 from earlier in the month and lower than the $6 it was at for several months l, no idea what they are doing with refurb fees this month but this was a nice surprise. $23 for broken Joy Con set trade in value is much better.

I wonder how much money GS misses out on by not allowing people to do in store pick up on games that only have 1 copy in stock

The website will only show available if there’s more than 1 copy, and even then will show only n-1 available. Ridiculous oversight

Yep, gamestop honestly wouldn't shock me if they just closed most stores and started acquiring other companies then sold off everything to someone like Sycamore partners. They have enough cash now that from a purely financial standpoint running a business probably doesn't even make sense now.

Since stores fulfill online orders it will likely get shipped out eventually

Anyone know what the deal is with Life is Strange Double Exposure? GS web site says that you get a Steelbook with in store pickup, however the in store pickup option is disabled. If I go in store and make a preorder will I get the Steelbook?

At GS if you want a preorder bonus you must preorder in store. Online don’t get it and stores will not give you one.
So yes if you go in store and put down $5 you will get a Steelbook as long as they enough (sometimes stores get shortchanged on bonuses). Best thing is to pick it up on release day.

Amazon.fr and amazon.de have steelbook versions of the game if you don't want to play the gamestop lottery.

France has Xbox and Switch

DE has PS5 and Switch
