Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

I’m still going to renew, just never going to buy a warranty from them again.
Y’all must have short-term memory loss. Does no one remember the recent amazing pro week sale? That sale alone and the b2g1 alone made the membership worth it.
If they have an amazing sale/deal exclusive for PRO members, then renew at that time. I don’t see renewing just in case they have deals.

The 25-50-75% off sale wasn't Pro-only, though it should have been since it was actually good. The B2G1 was Pro-only for a week, and then the following week, I think it was open to everyone.

My membership expires next week. I have about 40k points that I assume will expire at the same time. The question is, do I use those points to renew for another year, or just buy some coupons and be done with them?

How many people on here expect another massive round of store closings after Christmas?

Heck it would not surprise me one bit if they folded all together after Christmas once the final numbers come in.

I bought a PS5 in June with a $75 PRP. I did not agree to accepting a preowned console as a replacement. Do I have grounds to ask for a refund on the plan?

Can you still subscribe to game informer physical magazine delivery with a Pro account, or have they killed that too?

may be worth going to Sony for the fix if it was a new console, honestly most repairs I’ve sent come back in less than a week or right at a week, that’s a bummer about the warranty I had no idea they could replace with used.

"Thirty-one (31) days beyond Customer’s purchase date: If Customer cancels this Plan after thirty (30) days or if Customer cancels this Plan after a claim had been paid, subject to the LTO Arrangement provision above, We will refund the purchase price allocable to the remainder of the term of this Plan prorated on a monthly basis, or any portion thereof, less an administrative fee equal to the lesser of 10% of the purchase price of this Plan or $25.00 and less the cost of any service provided under this Plan."

Would Gamestop really do that? Just make no distinction between used and new?

surprised there is so much concern over the PRP etc.

I agree its a scummy move on GS part, but when was the last time any of us CAGs got PRP for anything? I dont think ive ever got one from GS in my life.

.

Maybe when the associate added it when we weren't looking?

I had to get a replacement warranty order put in for an order that never shipped.  2 of 5 products have shipped.  Of the 3 remaining, 1 is not in stock and it states that they are awaiting product availability.  Is it likely the 2 in stock items will ship or will the rest of this order be put in limbo?  It's already been 18 days since the order was placed and it took them a while to process the replacement order.  Just trying to figure out next steps

I got it for my PS5 since my PS4's power supply randomly failed a few months after buying it. Yes that was within Sony's warranty period, but I got a 2-year PRP from GameStop just in case.

I'm trying to use the $5 coupon for a $4.99 game online for in store pickup but the coupon will not apply. Would it work if I use it in store? Or does it only work on items above $5?

I’ve used it on a ps4 game disc, a switch cartridge game, a ps5 controller with a wonky dpad and a ps4 pro console.

You know there has to be some person out there obsessed with extended warranties and getting them and using them somehow and I want to meet them

any reason why gamestop mightve just took away the $5 monthly coupon from accounts today? or was it just i that pissed off their gods?

The PRP for controllers and headsets was actually very good, before this change and before the price increases. You could basically say the controller drifts and get a new one every year for $7 or so. My dualsense actually did drift after 10 months and i got a brand new one.

No one answer my question a few pages ago.   I got 100,000 point banked, will they expire December 1st or is that 1 year from december 1?  My pro account is active until nov 2024... unfortunly i took the chance to renew for 15,000 point back in june

From the website:

On or after December 1, 2023, points held by Members will expire if you are not a Pro Member, and all points will expire one (1) year from the date of accumulation (which is the date when points are posted to the Member's Account). This change impacts points you've previously accumulated before this change. Pro Tip: Keep your Account on auto-renew and redeem your points within a year of accumulating them to prevent your points from expiring!
For example, any points earned before December 1, 2022, will be expired on December 1, 2023.

The only advantage to a GameStop warranty is the idea of the instant replacement, otherwise Sony will issue a new DualSense easily and for a $10 shipping fee, usually even if out of warranty but you need to call them, Nintendo fixes Joy Cons free and pays shipping, Microsoft (used) to be rockstars with their in-store support, they have become the worst at helping out of warranty, and their repair prices are relatively high , they’ve gone from the best to the worst in terms of accessory and console repair.

Monthly $5 disappears on the last day of the month if you haven’t used it. Not at midnight but at like 6pm eastern. It’s why you never wait until the last minute to use it.

Only if your state requires prorate returns on warranties. It's always been in the terms so legally they are covered, it's just how the enforcement has changed.

This company deserves to fail

Way to piss off your employees before Black Friday.  They will probably lose some more of the good ones before the end of the year.

Also probably an indicator of more bad things to come from them.

I was banned from trading for a few years so 100% before hand.... what would be the best way to cash out 100,000 point? Can I still do the stack of 25+15+10? Thinking of picking up the modern warfare 3 and then sell it off for $60, minor loss but still a cash out
