Where is the weekly ad?
They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

I can't find a trade in value for an item?
It might not be tradable or calling a store to find the value may be the only option.

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

Are there trade limits?
Yes, $500 cash minus some electronic trade ins and or $2000 trade credit in a rolling 30 day period.

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

Gotta love the wild west that is GS. Despite those calling the end of the world for it, many years mind you, hope GS stays a lil while longer cuz these opportunities and experiences are why this community exists and thrives. Keep helping each other out for years to come!
I'd give them another solid 4-5 years unless they become online only and we end up having to ship trade ins

Good stuff. The store he talked about in the vid was forcing people to bundle when they pre-ordered (Astoria, NY location).
Damn this used to my go-to store when I lived in Astoria. Employees weren’t pushy at all and were super chill, would let me know if they had obscure JRPg collectors editions in stock. Sad to see

Points come in handy but I lost over 40k due to a stupid mishap by dm and corporate decision. Have to build it all back again
I've also gone thru something similar which wiped out ALL of my points...on one hand, I'm so sorry to hear...on the other, cash-in as soon as reasonably possible. Better not to allow GS to hold any leverage over anyone, for they have "the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, remove or edit content, or cancel orders in [their] sole discretion". Unsure if this extends to trade credit, but I wouldn't be surprised. Be fully aware everybody.

with how well shipping graded cards around is going, shipping trade ins in sounds great!
I don't get it. Despite all the horror stories on social media, people still flock to GS to get their cards graded. They're thinking more about the money they don't/won't have over the cards they actually do. Bewildering!

Real question: I placed an online order last night to pick up the last copy of a game from my store, and I paid using credits from a gift card. I never received a notification that my order was ready for pickup.
When I checked my account, the order had completely disappeared, and my gift card credits are gone.
Has anyone experienced this before? Is there any way to get my money back since I don't have an order number or anything to show them?
NEVER use gift cards or trade credit for online orders, because they do not provide consumer protection. You would be at the mercy of GS online support which will also take up more of your time. What you should have done is use a credit card because in case anything goes awry, and GS chooses not to help you, you would have the option to file a chargeback as a last resort. Plus if anything, you can return your order in-person, refund with your credit card, THEN repurchase using your gift cards/trade credit. Other than that, check your email for any records of your online order like receipts or pick-up notifications.

After this occurring, absolutely I won't. Had it been 100k,id be done with them but as long as I have physical media I want to get rid of or trade I'll keep pushing forward. Funny enough they qualified me for the credit card 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

Will state if your account gets terminated, any PSA orders have name removed. It's crappy but so long as have the email or number associated staff will note down

Astro Bot + Blackmyth Wukong + Stellar Blade for ~$40 each after taxes isn't quite that bad, but as a cheapass gamer I wouldn't pay more than $30 lol maybe $35 for a "rarer" title/NSW 1st-party but that's it no more

especially taking the gamble of getting those games through the GS online store. But hey $40 for Wukong is a stellar price

can confirm on this big warning. Any trade credit used will be MAILED PHYSICALLY back to your address in a span of 5-7 days.

Wondering if contacting PSA directly would do any good, or does the buck stop squarely with GS? Any sort of compensation for totally "lost" cards?

any tips on getting my original trade account unbanned? i’ve been using my new account for years with no issues, but would be nice to have double monthly coupons again
Honestly I don't but I did just get an email stating they didn't terminate but rather it 'expired' due to set durations 'conditions' which I know is total bs because it was the DM who did it to begin with and corporate being jackholes. All those points gone with no resolution because they assumed the worst

It would have to be that exact location did the transaction. Thankfully I am cool with a good majority so they knew but experiences vary so just want to let others know if incase they face similar scenarios

Anybody plan on doing that with the switch 2?

Not sure how cooperative employees will be (they like to make up rules on the fly)

Could you imagine? Shipping your trade in and waiting for them to verify what you sent in before you got credit (let alone the shipping costs). :hot:

Although I've had decent experiences with online trades in the past (specifically Amazon and Samsung), that isn't to say I haven't had issues with both. When I did, things got complicated real quick, and it didn't help matters you can't directly get in contact with the people who are managing/grading trade-ins.

Thats the one thing GameStop has going for it, is having the in-store proponent of accepting trades as you get your money then and there. If the employee is being anal, and wants to apply a refurb fee, you can tell them to go pound sand and just go to another store to do the trade. No such luck if online trades become a thing (I mean you can, if it's anything like Amazon where they send your trade back, but if you do resubmit a trade online it could be months before you get credit with all the back and forth and waiting).

Got a call from Gamestop asking me if I want to pickup Expedition 33 or have them cancel it. I told them I already picked it up 3 days ago. They insisted it hasn't been picked up. I just said cancel it then. So should I be expecting a refund and basically a free game?

Just a quick update. Looks like GS shipped me a gift card with the refund amount on. So I guess I got the game for free. Almost wish I had just bought something really expensive instead that day lol.

Gamestop wouldn't last a year as an online only retailer.
They actually might do better than what they are doing now.

The number of people they enploy would drop significantly and they would no longer have all the expenses of the individual buildings. I have to imagine that some, if not the majority, of their inventory is kept in various warehouses. The inventory can't be spread out amongst their remaining stores can it?

Obvioulsy trades would suffer unless they just did small kiosks (like you see where you can trade in old phones) where the only thing you could do is trade in games.

Feel free to poke holes in this business plan:ROFLMAO:

lol, they have one warehouse in Texas. I think they had 2 others that they closed. Kentucky and a Pennsylvania one which was state of the art but they didn’t keep open long.

To my knowledge, GameStop has shat the bed during any online "thing" they've attempted.

Their site is still trash in 2025.

They don't sell based on item quality with used stuff, either. Sight unseen won't work.

Unless they drastically overhaul their online presence, it would be a last gasp. Otherwise, they'd only benefit today from have a stronger pivot to online and using their current retail to enable that. But they're not, just seemingly receding on all fronts.

They offered some form of capital raising thing in March for $1.3B, to buy crypto, among other things.

They're literally running on memestock gas.

Meh. First Gamestop fail in a long time. B2G1 was for Metaphor ReFantazio, Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West Complete. HFWC didn't have case, but the other two did.

I had saw pop up on new account but didn't have exact clue. I would assume previous gen and retro are workable with this
