Where is the weekly ad?
They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

I can't find a trade in value for an item?
It might not be tradable or calling a store to find the value may be the only option.

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

Are there trade limits?
Yes, $500 cash minus some electronic trade ins and or $2000 trade credit in a rolling 30 day period.

Where is the weekly ad?

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).


TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

I went 3 times back in my 20’s. It’s been 20+ years and the first trip for my kids & husband.

We just started up on our 3rd week here. We spent 2 nights in Hiroshima, 1 in Okayama, 3 in Osaka, 5 in Kyoto, 5 in Tokyo- Shibuya (the 5th night is tonight). Tomorrow we go to Matsumoto for a night and then finish up with 5 nights back in Tokyo, but Ginza. We’ve been doing days trips from Kyoto & Tokyo as well.

We’re relaxing in the hotel after doing the Toyosu tuna auction this morning (Won the lottery to be in the close area). And we’re going to Shinjuku to a dessert buffet in the afternoon.

That is awesome! I did a similar trip, Tokyo, Kawaguchiko, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Himeji, back to Tokyo.

I thought a decent amount of stuff and a second suitcase from Donki the last night there. One semi regret is missing some classics from super potato. I’m not a fan of buying used yet when it comes to old PlayStation and neogeo stuff, you don’t really have a choice.

So far; what’s your favorite or most memorable thing?
 
That makes me think of old TV shows where they limited just the number of items they could bring back at times. Though tv logic so no idea if those were even real rules 60 years ago.

Feels like Donki is more expensive than other places. We did bring a spare duffel bag, but I think if we need another suitcase I’d buy at BIC Camera.

The view from the Sea Candle on Enoshima was amazing so that is one of the top things. Hikone Castle was also great but the ladders (I refuse to call those steep things stairs) were absolutely grueling. Basically Hikone saw the stairs at Himeji and said hold my beer. We did have omi beef for lunch after at a very traditional place.

I mean you are limited on the amount of alcohol you can bring duty free. But unless you are buying a ton, no need to lie. If it’s one or 2 bottles over the limit customs generally waves you through because they aren’t filling out the paperwork over a buck or 2.
 
B2G1F, especially on retro, is very tempting but I ain't gonna go out of my way this time around especially when half of all my counties' stores combined got blipped. Remember everyone, you can get a "free" game when you use your $5 monthly towards $4.99 or less which surprisingly eliminates tax at least in my state. Pair with DD'ing, you could potentially get two for the price of zero!

Oh yeah, PSA reminder: Today is last day to use your June monthly. DD today and DD tmrw, great deal on a monthly basis!
 
Two of my PS5 games (Indy and AC shadows) came disk only in a yellow sleeve. Couldn't even give me a generic case. For the price it's whatever, I'm just going to play them and trade them back anyways

I think I'm going to sit out this round of b2g1. Lord knows I don't need any more games; the backlog is immense. Also don't have much time to game with work/family/etc.
If there's anything I want, I will pick it up come Black Friday.

Exactly! Black Friday season around the corner and GameStop does a b2g1 around that time every year but it’s with better prices

Orrrr, here's a trade secret...play them within 7 days and return them, buuut BIG BUT[T]...since the name of the games are made public for every JD to see here...idk, up to you man.

Not only that, but "new" games, especially collector's editions, get some major price cuts. I remember that one year when The Callisto Protocol CEs dropped to as low as $25! MSRP $250, utter insanity those day one buyers!

Are you guys able to stay logged into your GS account on desktop? It makes me log in each time... issue happens in Chrome, Chrome with my ad/tracking blocking extensions disable, and on Edge.

It hasn't worked for me in months. Whenever they started messing with their cloudflare stuff.

I'm fine on desktop. I was fine on my phone too until I made the mistake of logging out to check for something on another account... Then ever since doing that, yea I've had the same issue.

So basically, I now know to never, ever log out of my main account on desktop, otherwise that will happen again. I gotta use incognito mode now whenever I'm on my desktop lol
 
My experience with the logging in/staying logged in issue is that clearing cache/cookies on the browser usually fixes it. Especially if you are using Chrome (which gives me more login problems with GS than Edge does). Ymmv.

FYI, I had July loaded on 6/30 and tried it after 6pm PT in-store. Didn't work.
 
the desktop gamestop website somehow fucks up the "are you a robot check" and fails on the password page.

I've found a good workaround instead is just to keep always something in the cart, start a checkout which redirects to the login page and works fine. If I try the sign in button it always fails with an error message on the password page although clearing cookies fixes it.

Same. It changed like a few months ago where I now have to log in every single time on mobile.



Well, my Switch B2G1 came in complete and in pristine condition. Games had been traded in 6/24, so freshly used. Been a long while since that happened.

I would just try again in a couple of days. When I checked earlier today, the monthly $5 wouldn't apply to anything at all in cart. This sometimes happens at the beginning of a new month.

Unrelated, but if anyone doesn't have any use for the targeted 25% off amiibo coupon, i am looking for one. Can send the +10% phone/tablet one in return.

So far got 7/9 games that have come with cover art, only Indy and AC shadows came disk only. Hitman Switch 2 still had the pre order dlc unredeemed which was awesome. Not going to be a huge supporter of the switch 2 key cards, but figured I was essentially getting the digital version for a big discount through the b2g1 and still retain the ability to resell it later if I choose and my purchase won't really be accounted for in the sales numbers for key card games so ultimately was okay with it. Have 3 games left to arrive. Went a little crazy with this sale since I was sitting on like $500 worth of credit and nothing really on the horizon to use it on. Also seemed like a good way to get a game like Astro Bot back to play the new free levels and then trade it back for a small profit or my trade credit back in a couple weeks.
