I still like playing real golf more than virtual stuff, sports games are just kinda "meh" in my opinion, except for NFL Blitz and GT, those series' rock.
Now you use the right stick to control where you strike the ball in addition to the left stick controlling your swing. The Rivals mode let's you play through the different "ages" of golf, which is kinda cool. And it's a lot harder. No kicking ass an hour after you start playing.
Wow... sounds difficult.

Changed my user title again. It's the least I can do to show how much I love CAG.

After the last couple years, especially last year, of the game being too easy, I like the upped difficulty. And you don't HAVE to use the right stick if you just want to hit the ball, and you can still use the shouldre buttons to help your spin and power, but using the right stick gives you a lot more flexibility in how you control your shots for fades, draws, tops and backspin.

For Arrested, I haven't seen most of the second season. I know the has a continuous storyline, but to understand the first episode of season 3, what do I need to know?

Virtual Golf is great, with Hot Shots and Tiger Woods ruling the games, and maybe Links (haven't tried it yet). Blitz was just the same damn thing from it's inception up until the League comes out, which is a very nice change from their norm. GT isn't really a sport, but does include a lot of racing tracks and racing cars, but not in any organized manner besides the way that PD always organizes them.

Yeah, you can still really control your swing, etc. In real golf, it's more fun too :p

EDIT: Yeah, sports games can be fun, but usually it's more fun to get out and play them. Even if you suck at 'em, it's fun to just get out and mess around with your friends ;)

Well Coheed and Cambria (plus Dredg, Blood Brothers, and mewithoutYou) is a done deal, just ordered the tickets. And there's no way my friend is backing out this time, he won't have class the next day and he'll be done with the LSATs.

Now he just has to get a job and pay me for these tickets ...

Did they ever change the putting guide shit? I haven't played since '03.

Oh yeah, the putting is totally new. Now you control the power of your putt just lik eyou do a normal swing, plus there are no caddy tips, just the grid (ala Hot Shots) that you have to read.

I don't see what people had a problem with in the putting system. That was easy to use if you put some thought into it.

Coheed and Cambria = D&D-mo...

Although you'd think Weezer would have some kind of title like that because they've literally said:
I've got the Dungeon Master's Guide.
I've got a 12-sided die.
I've got Kiddy Pryde
And Nightcrawler too
Waiting there for me.
Yes I do, I do.

There's a grid?

It was, but the caddy tips etc were completely worthless.

Honestly I'm more into Dredg than Coheed, but I did just download/am listening to Good Apollo ...

Weezer is great ... wish I could have caught them and Cake (another band I love) back in July.

You are not a man. Well, not a man's man at least. ;)

He's also the only reason I bothered with Vanilla Sky, and even then only because it was $5.

Still though, am I the only one here that actually plays golf in RL? I mean it's really a fun sport, boring as hell to watch, but fun to play.

I play real golf...when I can afford it. I only got out twice this year due to financial constraints.

I got a set of clubs when I was in 8th grade for my birthday but only used them like 5 times. Pretty much quit playing that and tennis after I moved to Raleigh.
do i need to use itunes for my ipod? I don't feel like installing it.
There's a plugin for winamp, just go to the site and search for it www.winamp.com

Yeah, golf is fun, it's expensive though, thats why I'm glad I'm in this junior league thing I get to go out every Sunday get golf tips and play a few holes, good times :D

I play occasionally. Didn't go this summer though.

My clubs are actually not in the greatest shape anymore, but I haven't played enough recently (last couple years) to justify buying a new set.

Yeah, clubs can be pretty expensive. I got a surprisingly good deal on mine for a starter set, it's an off brand but hey seem to be holding up really well and have decent enough shafts. Sad thing is it was $125 for the complete set and a bag, and I was about to drop $100 on a new Nike bag alone...

I've got a nice lightweight bag. I don't know what brand it is, but it's a hell of a lot easier to carry around than most anything else I've tried.

That's about what I've got. A decent graphite set, but pretty inexpensive. I'd like to upgrade once I can afford playing regularly though. I'm not bad when I get my groove on the golf course.

I've been slacking on my spanish studies already, haven't done anything of note in two days.

Maybe tomorrow ... and then I've got all weekend.

It would be more correct if it were in the proper tense.
all you really need to know is "en mis pantalones"
I'll keep that in mind. After all, you've never steered me wrong before.

Yeah that's why I threw that edit on there cause I realised afterwards that it was wrong right off the bat cause I said "I study spanish 3 years..."

El pollo in mis pantalones es grande. La salsa de mi pollo es muy bien.

Funny how I can still say the odd/dirty things...

Sooooooo.....

Looks like this crazy bitch, name'a Rita, is gonna come rippin' through Houston, which happens to be my stepmother's sister's stompin' ground. She, her husband, her four kids, and her deaf/blind brother are coming to stay with us tomorrow. I have a king-size bed, so a couple of the kids are going to be sleeping there while I crash on the couch (which I have no problem with; I slept on that couch for months when I first moved in with my Dad). The only thing that concerns me is the deaf/blind brother; he can navigate his sister's house with no help whatsoever, doesn't even use a cane. He just feels around for the walls. But he's going to need some help getting used to a new place. I can't wait to see his sister communicate with him though. My stepmom told me that she traces patterns on his palm with her fingers or taps a pattern on his shoulders, and he knows exactly how to interpret it.

Regardless, I'll prolly wind up at my friend's house for the weekend. He has a rare instance of a 4-day streak of off-days from work, and we plan to take full advantage of it.

It's not bad, but a few years ago we went down to visit and every damn day my grandfather (mom's side) tried to feed us eggs w/ chorizo for breakfast. Every. Damn. Day. For. Three. fucking. Weeks.

EDIT: Ok, it's been more than a few years as we've been 3 or 4 times since then. Still ...

CP: The writer director team that made Constantine just bought Survivor. They bought it in February and they’ve announced that it’s going to be one of if not their very next project. It’s actually going to happen, maybe.

DRE: Have you met with the director, Francis Lawrence?

CP: I don’t even know their names. This is how little attention I pay. I didn’t meet with them. Their agents talked to my agents and they did the deal and I signed the papers and they signed the papers. Now it’s in their hands.

DRE: Did you go check out the Constantine movie just to see if they knew what they were doing?

CP: It’s funny. I’m waiting for the DVD because my friends went and they really liked it. They liked it better than Sin City. Once the DVD is out I’ll see it.

Chuck needs some new friends.

(from Suicide Girls, generally NSFW of course)

Looks like one of the students here who imported Advent Children added subtitles and encoded it in mpeg 2 or 4 so there's no quality loss and will be showing it in the theater on Friday after the In-Service is over around 6 PM or so. I think I"ll be going to see it again, if not to just see it on a huge screen that is the projector. :)
