I noticed that this thread has been dead for a while so I contacted the author and she agreed to let me take over...so we are starting a minty fresh, brand-spanking-new Toys R Us clearance game thread....

I have put the last 2 entries under spoilers so we wouldn't lose that data but most of it is pretty old...I will probably delete the stuff that goes back to early 2010 as it is really irrelevant....so we are gonna start small here....I have a few updates to post from my ventures out today..

I would like to keep this thread in the spirit of the Target Clearance Game thread so I will be setting it up like that...

Any questions, comments, suggestions just drop me a PM...

Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numerous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

For the most part, prices are universal! Though there will always be exceptions...

Interesting. If that DC Universe drops another $5 for :ps3: I may have to grab it, since otherwise it's a 17+ gig download to download the full game since it went FTP. Everybody else clearanced it out or pennied/destroyed their copies of it already.:roll:

I Googled a thread I posted. It's off of this site. It was about this: eBay - DC Universe Online/PS3 $7.99 + $2.50 Shipping

The disc version needs 16GB to download still from what I've read.

Last time I was at Target, they still had the damn thing for $20.

just there this morning. Picked up Dead Space 2 "Limited Edition" for $14.98, and Sonic Generations for $14.98. Both on PS3. Sonic Generations on 360 was still @ $29.99

The only Wii game on the list prim4444 posted (thanks for doing that btw!) that I am remotely interested in is :wii: Goldeneye 007. $14.98 is still a bit higher than I'd like, but if it hits single digit prices I may bite. If only I got the CC pro bundle that cleared out earlier this year...

Keep in mind, you'll still have to install that massive chunk of HDD space on your PS3.

True. Not to mention my one buddy who did download it and was playing it hasn't been playing much of anything lately. So it'd be wasted money, since just going by what I saw when he was playing it it was very menu heavy and I hate those sorta games. About the only reason I'd likely play it is if they were still playing, since otherwise I'd be bored to tears.

Not sure if the list was wrong, but my store had the ps3 version of apache air assault on clearance. 360 version nowhere to be found.

The lists only show what each specific store has in inventory. If a store doesn't have a game, it won't show on the markdown list. The list I put up is actually from a combination of lists from 6 stores.
 
just got the singing game for store pickup.

Question: Do I need to take the "ready to pick up email" printed or can I just show it on my cel? Would like to save the page for something that actually needs to be printed
 
Found a nice CS manager yesterday. I bought the Kinectimals w/ Bears bundle back in June for $40, but hadn't opened it. I was past the return date and the price adjustment date, but the lady overrode the system and credited $25 back to my card. All-in-all a pleasant experience.

Hey guys. I know that thisn't exactly a game, and may even be considered a little childish, But I just got an Empire Strikes Back Vintage Collection AT-AT for $48 (the big one with all the electronics - The labeled price was $150.) My store had about 3 of them, and they had just received them within the last... well i think today actually. I assume they're clearing them out because Hasbro will be releasing a Return of the Jedi version.

Not at all. SW collecting is huge. I know a ton of adults who collect, including myself up until recently.
Thats an excellent score for that vehicle in that particular packaging.
 
Heads up to anyone in the market for a blu-ray player.

I was working R-Zone freight yesterday, putting some TVs behind the glass, when I came across a Sony blu-ray player without a pricetag. We'd had it since before I started back in May, but I hadn't paid it any attention since no one comes to TRU for blu-ray players. I figured I'd give it a label since it didn't have one. I scanned it and looked at the gun, then almost crapped my pants. $18, marked down from $180.

It's the BDP-S370 model, item number 549790. I dont know how many stores have any left (the shipping label suggests it's leftover from Black Friday 2010), but it can't hurt to check. You can always have an employee check nearby stores' inventory if your first stop proves fruitless.
 
Just to let people know, TRU did update some of their clearance games, which do stack with the current B1G1 40% off for Wii / DS / 3DS. Some of these prices are cheaper than the current Ebay promotion, with the added option to do instore pick up.

As for the notable mentions that are also B1G1 40%:

:wii: Flingsmash w/ Wii Remote Plus $24.98 (unfortunately limit one per customer, though)

:wii: Wii Play w/ Remote $19.98 (as low as $16 each if you buy two of them)

:wii: de Blob 2 $9.98

If you can't do instore pick up on these, then the savings may not be worth it, but both Flingsmash and Wii Play should be easy to find.

Sorry for the epic bump, but this is the only tru clearance thread that search brought up.

I saw 4-5 of the Pspgo cradles for $3 just now, so they're still out there.

they had Metro Last Light out too, but I didn't try to buy it to see if it was date locked.
 
I haven't stopped by my local TRU in a long time, though according to the website, the clearance prices haven't changed much. Most of the action was late summer-ish.
