The CAG thread of LOL Political Ads
My favorite commercial, happens to be my representative, a great guy:

Yes, a commercial about dog shit.
I like this one. I might disagree with parts of it, but man, this is funny. Good post. :)
An ad from Winnipeg:
Oh, geeze... I had to look that one up. I notice there's no disclaimer at the end ("Paid for by...") - is this a Canadian thing, or was this ad made tongue-in-cheek by some random group of people?

Great LOL ad though. ;)

I saw it on The Soup and cracked up.
Okay, I'm hoping to make this thread a little more fun than others. However, since the ads posted here will generally be poking fun at one candidate/party or another, I'm sure someone will get their panties in a knot and run the fun. Don't be that person.

Anywhoo, this ad a laugh.

Laugh? Yeah, but you're the damn punchline.

You would post the most misinformed, racist, mysogynist political ad you could find. Right up your alley.

Nice amateur try at shielding yourself by saying "please don't be that guy"

You're not as clever as you think you are by half.
Hey look it's THAT guy, lol
Someone had to be.

Anywhoo, that Mike Weinstein ad is pretty painful. It's like one of those traveling groups that go to schools and put on really lame acts that are supposed to be cool and get kids to not smoke. I lol'd... in an uncomfortable way.

Lol, it reminded me of the brady bunch movie, displaying their awkwardness at its best http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpiVfi5jcEw

Agreed.

The "worked very hard...took many scalps" line from the Chief was where that ad went over the line. The ad was showing, if only for a fleeting moment, that Republicans can have a good sense of humor. Shame they can't finish without exposing their racism.

And before you say "it's just a joke ad," fuck you. It has a political message, tries to take down a particular candidate, and only thrusts stereotypical behavior on one person, a Native American. No other character got to throw out a similarly shitty and stereotypical line.

As for the Mike Weinstein ad, holy Zack Attack!

The Mike Cox ad was a good, solid laugh, however.

The basil marceaux ads are still the best, everybody here was laughing about him for a good few weeks. Having him for mayor would have been....interesting.

Oh, how could we forget BasilMarceaux.com?

If 2012 is Obama vs. Palin, BasilMarceaux.com gets my vote.

*edit* Oh, geesh...

A month after President Barack Obama fell behind three of his main 2012 Republican rivals and tied another, he has now jumped back ahead of all four. Obama leads [...] failed Tennessee gubernatorial candidate and viral video sensation Basil Marceaux, 46-21

Is it any surprise I don't trust opinion polls?

While not a real ad, this was a spoof last year for the mayoral campaign here in Birmingham:

I do love listening to the absurdities of political ads. "HE EATS BABY CHILDREN FOR LUNCH... AND VOTED FOR OBAMACARE." To be honest, I don't really care what your views are but I'm less likely to vote for a candidate that produces ads like this.

This one makes me happy because it brings back ...uhh... fond? memories of the Turtle Rap. Yeah, those were the days.

This is my first year living in washington during a senate/congress election cycle. I love all the political ads for both parties reminding us about "that other washington".
Patty Murray doesn't care about Washington, she works in "that other washington".
Jamie Ferrera, hand in hand with "that other washington."

Me so stupid, what state me live in again? Nation's capital next door to me?
