Hey guys,

I don't know if there's interest in a PS3 gameshare group, or if there's one in place for Canadians already, but I believe its worth taking a shot.

I'm interested in some PSN games, and it would be great if we can work it out
so that we can save some money. Just post what games you're interested in, and we'll decide what games to order and who's going to purchase.

How to setup a Gameshare (from Afterdawn)

1.) Write down your current sign in ID and password.

2.) Go under account management and delete all of your billing information if you keep a credit card number on file (this will stop the potential jack*** from purchasing stuff with your credit card to download to his own PS3).

3.) While in account management change your password to whatever and write down the new password. At this point it should be ok to exchange sign in information(make sure you give the person the new password and not the old one).

4.) Now both people will need to create a new user (you will have to keep this user on your system as long as you wish to play the content). After you you create a new user scroll down to Playstation network tab and click on Sign up for playstation network. You will have two options, choose use existing account and enter the opposite persons info. This will sign you into PSN as the other person.

5.) Enter the Playstation store and click on download list at the top hand corner. This will bring up all the past downloaded content. Choose what you wish to download. Perform the download in background.

6.) While the content is downloading it will be ok to click on your normal user and log back into your account with the new password (make sure the other person is at the same level as you are, this is why I suggest keeping in contact through other means as I said before). DO NOT TURN YOUR PS3 OFF.

7.) Once logged back in to your normal account it will be okay to go back in and change your password back to your normal one and add all of your billing info back in. By changing your password back you will not have to worry about unauthorized use of your account.

8.) Wait for the download to finish then install.

  • This long term group will keep up with the DLC releases for Rock Band Unplugged.
  • Each member will deposit $10. Each Thursday that DLC is released I will Download the new Songs. Once the funds in the PlayStation Wallet drop below $10 each member will deposit $10 again.
  • Can purchase other PSP games and DLC if members agree. Extra money would need to be deposited.

I think this is a good idea. Personally, I'm planning on only getting Broken Steel, Point Lookout and Mothership DLC. I heard the others arent that great. Does anyone know how much it will cost ?

I would assume that you can. I know my gameshare group shared the Valkyria Chronicles DLC and some LBP DLC packs without any problems. I'm looking to do the same thing later this year.

The DLC for xbox360 was $10 a piece. They might bundle all 5 DLCs together when the game of the year edition comes out.
 
If that's the case then I'm looking for a group to get the following games:

1. Fat Princess ($15)
2. Marvel vs Capcom 2 ($15)
3. Fallout 3 DLC: Broken Steel, Point Lookout, Operation Anchorage, the Pitt and Mothership Zeta (these are $10 each)

total = $80+tax. We can throw in 1 more
 
brw, i'd rather be in a group that buys Fallout 3 DLC than Battlefield 1943, as I am probably going to purchase Fallout 3 GOTY edition at some point.

Wouldn't the GOTY edition include the DLC?
 
Best Buy is having an online-only sale starting 6PM on August 2nd to 10AM August 4th.
20% off PS3 accessories, which means discounts on PSN cards!
 
We'll have to see if PSN cards are actually counted as accessories, even if its in that section...cause they are considered gift cards (hence, no tax on sale).

In other news, who is actually playing BF1943 and Fat Princess? I'd like to add you on PSN and maybe we can get in a few games together, as fellow CAG's :D PM ME!
 
We have one slot open for what we're planning will be a permanent group. We will be starting with the games listed below, then voting on any future releases (no DLC, just full games).

On Fallout DLC - I remember something funky about it on PS3... either it won't be released online or the expansion discs won't be sold at retail... I can't remember.

And yeah, it's sort of unknown whether PSN cards will count as accessories since they are gift cards. I guess that's the downside of them being actual dollar amounts and not wacky points.

The GOTY Edition includes every single piece of DLC.

The individual expansion discs are not being sold at the retail level, Fallout 3 DLC for PS3 is going to be download only (or, buy the GOTY edition)

The Current Group:

How it will work:
-$10-$15 * each a month (either everyone log on and deposit money into the PS wallet or send me though paypal, though fees would have to be added)

* Price is negotiable -- The high price point is to catch up on any DLC members want from the backlog... otherwise, I expect it to be only $8 monthly for stuff within the last 6 months and recent releases -- See point (#)

-Concentrate mostly on new releases, and old releases that everyone in the group wants.
- (#) We buy DLC based on majority vote from the group (IE: 3/5 votes to buy the DLC for a certain song ; please be open minded for genres)
-Hopefully eventually get all good/worthwhile Rock Band DLC
-Can also do game shares of certain games if *all* members agree. Extra money would have to be deposited for game shares.
-The group CAN buy the Export Key if no one else has it.

I wonder if they will be selling all Fallout 3 Exp packs individually at $10 each. Or if they will be cheaper, or maybe they will decide to do a combo pack of all 5 for a lower price. I'm hoping a pack since I have the CE and if I decide not to sell it and just gameshare the DLC it would make it much cheaper.

I hope they sell them individually like they did for 360 cause some of the DLC aren't worth the money I hear. If they sell them in a pack at a lower price, that'd be awesome too.

Well, myself and Gamin_guru were looking into making a group for MvsC2, Fat Princess, Shatter, and possibly the Fallout 3 DLC when it drops (still up in the air but we can discuss this more as it gets closer). So if you are interested we might be able to get the ball rolling and grab a couple more people.
 
I'd be up for MvC2, Shatter, and Fat Princess. I have Fallout on the 360 so that's kinda not in my interest. But let me know what you decide!

I'll be picking up MvsC2 this Thursday or Friday, retail box copy with the download code for PSN download. So we need to setup the new PSN account soon.

all 3 warhawk expansion packs.

I'm interested in MVC2, flower, shatter and others that I probably can't think of.
 
I know it's a little soon but if someone would be interested in starting and administrate a gameshare group for all the future Rockband Beatles albums, I'd sure join in!

Well myself and Usuyami are both interested in MvC2. We were looking at more with chrisryans before but getting people for all the games was difficult. Maybe we could do a quick one-game gameshare.

Works for me. Then after everyone has downloaded their share, we can just change the password and get Fat Princess and Shatter and fill in whatever spots are vacant.

I am not 100% sure if PSP games are sharable put PSP DLC is so I wouldn't see why games wouldn't. The only drawback is the fact that you can only have one PSN account active on a PSP at any one time so if you have multiple game sharing accounts with a PSP you would have to deactivate and delete one PSN account and activate another to be able to play games from a different account. Not really a hard or long process just annoying.
