Hey all,

Is anyone else looking forward to watching this movie on ABC? I remember my English teacher read this book to our class and it was pretty interesting.
 
I dont understand your post. Is "Five people you meet in Heaven" the name of the show?

EDIT: I guess it is. I had to read your post again.
 
I believe he is talking about a book written by Mitch Albom. He is a Detroit sports writer who appears on ESPN's The Sports Reporters. He also wrote Tuesdays with Morrie, which is an excpetional book which focuses on Albom's relationship with an old professor who is dying of ALS (or Lou Gherig's Disease). It is exceptional because it focuses on the importance of treating others decently and uses life's lessons to explain this. You could read it in an afternoon. I would encourage you to do so.

I have a copy of the Five People You Meet in Heaven. Now that I finished Founding Brothers, I intend to begin it shortly.

Personally, I think it would be better to teach the kids how to read themselves, but you know how the public school system is these days... :p

My college professer read us little kid fair tales. Isn't that cool! :roll:
 
I hate this book more then anything. Not that the book is bad, but I had to read the book last year for my History class and had to write a 15 page report on it. I got a C on it because I accidently had the paper stapeled the wrong way. The teacher didn't even read my essay.

Your teacher sounds like a moron. This doesn't even sound like a historical book (the other guy was reading it in English)

15 pages? Surely you jest. I read this book last christmas while waiting in line for Albom's autograph. It took about an hour and 20 minutes. Albom's sappy tripe is good tear fodder, but not much else substance for 15 pages worth of a report....just like all his other books.

Please tell me you're in 6th grade or something. Please ? I haven't had a teacher reaad to the class since about 5 grade, but I know times have changed since then....
 
di met the auther before... some weird connection like friend's cousin's husband or something... i liked tuesday's with whatever it was called... that was a good book.. didnt read the five people one

I do not jest. We had to compare this esays theme of religion with world religions that we learned about. The essay made no sense and everyone just BSed the essay completely. And yes, my History teacher was stupid and he got fired.
