Brak's forum idea sounds good, but it would die. :/ The OTT only keeps members (though not very well) because of the draw of CAG.
 
I think the biggest problem I've got with all of this is that there's pretty much zero transparency about what the fuck is going on here.

Want to delete a post? Fine. But given that pretty much every other forum I've been to shows deleted posts, why not set up CAG to do that? Even if we can't see the post, we'd have a better idea of which ones are being deleted.

Not that it fucking matters anyway, the way things are going.

I agree with Rocko about JimmieMac, though - that's kinda his whole schtick across CAG. (Although, I must confess, I did giggle at his comment in the "Found a flea on my dog" thread.)

Eh, maybe it's me, but I thought most of the "assholeness" was kept amongst ourselves in the OTT. Then again, I don't venture into the blogs, so I don't know how cruel you guys are being in the comments, even though they're probably deserved...

I'm inclined to agree. Besides that, forums that branch off from a site like that tend to die quickly. If there's no new blood or no outside world to interact with, things get stale pretty fast.
 
Done job searching for the day. If I don't find something soon I'm going to have to give up on SD and start looking in the bay area for work.

Most of the assholeish comments I've seen in the blogs are for posts like this. If you aren't going to take the time to put even a tiny bit of effort into your blog, you'd damn well better expect that kind of reaction.

Besides, there are plenty of people commenting there that aren't from the OTT. I don't think the blogs are the problem.
 
I post here because of the community... which sounds cheesy as hell. Especially when the upper members of the community want my account deleted.

You gotta remember, this site is his business, if shit gets outta hand, you gotta do what you gotta do, even if you have to kick out a friend or two.

While I agree with this, knocking out many of your longtime "customers" often will have a negative effect on the rest of the base.

I don't know how long you've been actively involved in the CAG community, but it's sort of an unspoken rule that JimmieMac can do whatever rule-breaking shit he wants with no repercussions.
