The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of SOTM!

Artist: Ayreon
Song: To the Quasar: A) The Taurus Pulsar B) Quasar 3c273
Album: Universal Migrator Part 2: Flight of the Migrator
Genere: Progressive Metal
Man Man - "Black Mission Goggles"
Curiously enough, that reminds me of the time that I saw Man Man. I should listen to them more often.

SOTM: Saul Williams - "WTF!"

When I first listened to this record, I couldn't figure out why (artistically speaking) Saul Williams would want Trent Reznor's hands all over his shit. For a long while I've been a big Saul fan and a big TR fan, but on several of the songs the obvious TR influence seemed out of place, if not outrightly unnecessary. The more I've listened to it, though... the more I like it. I think I'm just happy to have some new Saul.

*Sigh* I'm going to go watch "Slam".
Yes it is. I will check out Specs One later.
His material is a bit hard to find but if you do find it, its worth checking out

Detail - Get In Line (album)
Giraffe Nuts - Eat Them (album)
Grand Tone Music - New Direction (album) -----not as good as Baxter but still one kick ass but overlooked album

Artist: Ten Years After

Album: Now
Genere: Rock

Artist: Joe Bonamassa
Song: Black Night
Album: Sloe Gin

Flyphonic - Mosaic Tiles (EP)

if you want one tight 5 track ep that ranges from R&B and hip hop, you can't go wrong with this. Supersci took a giant leap with this (the track Full Steam is one of my top 5 songs of last year)

Himuki - My Book (album)
Hungry Lucy - Glo (album)
Rebel Clique - Still Curious (album) wish this project would get attention like everything else Fat Jon does but I guess him doing R&B just doesn't sit well with people

Extra Prolific - Like It Should Be (album)

DJ Drez And Marty Williams - The Complete Moon Bay Sessions (album) ----wish this was selling better. Easily one of the best and yet slept on albums of 07
here is the myspace page to check out some of the songs: http://www.myspace.com/moonbaysessions

Nina Hynes - Really Really Do (album)

Katharina Nuttall - This Is How I Feel (album)

if you ever wondered how a female Jim Morrison would sound like, look no farther

LuckyIam - Most Likely To Succeed (album)
Love Like Fire - An Ocean In The Air (EP)
Sia - Some People Have Real Problems (album)
Supersci - Pinetrees On The Pavement (album)

Flying Lotus - 1983 (album)
Artful Dodger - It's All About The Stragglers (album)

Dr. Who Dat? - Beat Journey (album)
I've been hoping that since Shape Of Broad Minds are getting some love that it would translate to he (he's their DJ/producer/occasional mc) would be getting love as well but it doesn't seem like it :(

I've always wondered what it would sound like if a high profile artist were to make a well produced track using soundbites from classic games (ignoring the abomination that was Lil' Flip's "Game Over").

Beck has provided an answer. Beautifully.

Beck- "Bit Rate Variations in B-Flat"

Marco Polo - Port Authority(album) - After a second listen, I think it's solid, but not as amazing as some make it out to be.
One Be Lo - The R.E.B.I.R.T.H.(album)
Ohmega Watts - The Find(album) - Digging this a lot more than the first time I heard it.
Joe Beats - Diverse Recourse(album)
Moka Only - Vermillion(album), Lime Green(album)

I couldn't get into that

9th Scientist - Illatron Magnetic (album)
Alina Simone - Placelessness (album)

got this set up to play next
Awol One and Factor - Only Death Can Kill You (album)

meh, not in the mood for him

Digit All Love - Digitalllove (album)
Ed Solo and Skool Of Thought - Random Acts Of Kindness (album)

V/A - Chronicles Of The Deep (album)

so far my album of the deep and my favorite entry in Fokuz's annual ...of the Deep series (though last years was outstanding)

Substantial - Sacrifice (album)
Moon Baker - ABC Of Romance (album) -----awesome funky R&B music.....thank you Shin-Ski for shinning light on her
So can I assume that I should listen to Shellac, Liquid?
Definitely give him a listen. I'm not sure if you'll like him, but it's better to try him out, no?

Prayer to God, off the album 1000 Hurts, is a pretty accessible (and fantastic) song.
Of his albums that I have, I like Excellent Italian Greyhound the most (I bought it on vinyl on Friday, actually), but make sure to listen to Prayer to God.

NP: Shellac - The End of Radio
