The Iron Sheik's wrestling topic

You know, with the way they're making Hardy look, I'm actually pretty excited about that main event ppv.

Oh, and I was wondering: is that Raw Anniversary dvd worth picking up for $20? I wanted to know what else was on it besides the stuff they mentioned on the back of the box, and I couldn't find the info elsewhere.

I couldn't find ESPN Classic on my cable system until after last night's airing of the UWF show, but after reading that Paul Orndorff came out to "You Can't Touch This", I'll definitely be catching it next week.

Funny you should metion that, because I'm watching it right now. I'm still on the first disc watching the "Pillman's Got A Gun" segment from '96.

It well worth the price for what you get. They cut out the fat from the matches I've seen thus far, but so far so good as to keeping most of the original content intact. Oh, and there's mch more than what on the back of the box.

Here's a rundown:

Disc 1
- First episode of RAW (false advertising since they don't acually show the first epidoes aired. It's more like a documentary of everything that led up to it)
- Mr. Perfect vs. Flar in a Loser Leaves WWF Match
- Razor Ramon vs The Kid
- HBK vs Jannetty for the IC title
- Gorilla Monsoon Fire Bobby Heenan
- Bret Hart vs the 1-2-3 Kid for the WWE Championship
- The Search for Undertaker
- King's Court with William Shatner
- HBK vs Owen Heart
- Vader Attacks Gorilla Monsoon
- A Touch of Goldust
- Pillman's Got a Gun
- Mankind vs. Taker in a No Holds Barred Match
- Shawn Loses His Smile
- Chyna Debut
- Original ECW Invasion
- Owen Hart vs British Bulldog for the Euro Ttle
- Bret Speaks His Mind
- Flag Match: USA vs Canada
- Stone Cold stuns the Boss
- Bret Screwed Bret
- Sable in a Sack
- Gold Meets Water
- Christmas With DX

I'll do the rest later.
Try Wal-Mart. They include a bonus disc with the entire first ever episode of Raw.
Those are the two different places I've tried.
Jericho. JBL.

So, what the hell, WWE?

Jericho makes his 'triumphant' return to WWE, and gets thrown into an immediate title feud, where he is subsequently made to look weak, and then COMPLETELY GIVES UP THE HUNT even though THAT WAS THE ENTIRE REASON HE SAID HE CAME BACK.

Sorry, it just... you know, bothered me.
Triple H dislikes Jericho.

The End.
Personally I hope that Matt Hardy wins the Royal Rumble and faces Edge at Wrestlemania and Jeff Hardy gets a rematch against Orton at Wrestlemania, but although you may not like the booking (in the same way a lot of people don't like Nigel McGuinness as RoH World champ), everything has come off in a nice, logical progression since the Survivor Series.
Matt Hardy win the the rumble and both Hardy's main eventing WM? I'd mark out for it but we know it'll never happen. Matt's return and recent feud has been building him towards a US Title run and hopefully elevating MVP to the World Title hunt in the process. I couldn't really see him winning the Rumble, but Money In the Bank feels more reasonable as its not as big a feat.

Jeff would be a more believable World Title contender if he dropped the IC title. Give to Kennedy, or hell even JBL so him and Jericho are fighting over something more. I'd even go as far as keeping Jericho busy by making the IC title picture hot again. And having a quick glimpse at the Raw titles, Londrick needs the damn tag belts. They need to be on TV wrestling every week, not Holly and Rhodes.

I think it would be wonderful for the MVP/Hardy angle if Hardy just bypassed MVP, won the World Title, and then made MVP dick around to get a shot at the belt the same way MVP made Hardy dick around. That and with the Edge/Hardy, you'd have ready made feuds to last through the majority of 2008 on Smackdown.

Something of a news item - the RAW following Wrestlemania will be held in Orlando on March 31st at the Amway Arena. Tickets will go on sale Jan. 12th, which would finish off a hell of a weekend of wrestling with ROH running in the area that weekend as well.
I wonder who he's gonna get the upset win against, because you know it's gonna happen.
Tommy Dreamer

Kofi... Kingston...

I guess they haven't had a Rasta in recent WWE history... if ever, I can't recall to be honest.

Can't wait for him to show up with Weed beads on our something... maybe some zig zags fall out of his trunks. Ya, that's the Vince McMahon I know.

Wrestling matches involving clocks are just so fuckin' boring. If I ever see one where the underdogs don't miss that "must-earn" pinfall by 1 second, I'll suck a thousand dicks in an hour. That's how confident I am.

It's like when I was a kid, and I'd watch WCW Worldwide Wrestling. If the ring announcer ever got on with that "10 minutes. 10 minutes passed. 5 minutes remaining" crap, then I knew that the TV champion would take his fatal pinfall with 2 seconds left. How droll.

Man, I haven't watched ECW in around a month... god is this bad.

The need to just move Punk to RAW or SD and dump all the rest of this crap.

Are we ready clocks?
Hardy being IC champ while battling for the WWE Title helps elevate the belt, although Hardy DEFENDING IT would be nice.
See thats the problem. I guess in a way it makes the IC title look like a stepping stone, but I think it takes away more from the belt. Theres nothing special happening to around it. Theres no one chasing the IC title and no one seems to care that Jeff is the champion. If they booked it to where Jeff had to defend the IC title and attempt to win the WWE title in the same night, not only would that make the IC belt look more prestigious (as in its important enough to be defended at a PPV) but it would also make Hardy look like a beast. Say he loses the IC belt at the beginning of the PPV, it'll make his WWE title match look even more important and believable that he would hold that belt instead. The other thing is the roster is so big that they shouldn't need the IC champ to be chasing the WWE champ.
Matt vs Edge should be attempted again, assuming tempers have cooled now.
I too would like to see this. Their feud had a weak end by sending Matt to Smackdown. Smackdown needs a new face to fight Edge. The "Edge heads" add some good heat, but its only been a couple weeks and I'm sick of the handicap matches against Batista/Taker. Elevating Matt via MITB would be a very nice option, because as far as faces go on Smackdown he seems next in line. Mysterio has been pretty stale since his return while the Matt/MVP feud was very entertaining. I guess Kane would be the other top face, but all he does now is scare the heel with his pyro as a "surprise opponent".

Impact spoilers for 1/17

1) ODB def. Angelina Love to earn a Knockout Title shot at Against All Odds.

Team 3D and Johnny Devine challenged the Machine Guns and Jay Lethal to a Hardcore Street Fight at Against All Odds. MCMG and Lethal accepted.

2) Tomko def. Eric Young

3. Kaz def. Senshi

4) Abyss def. Lance Hoyt
- James Mitchell revealed the "secret" - he's Abyss' daddy

5) Robert Roode def. Sonjay Dutt

6) Christian Cage def. Samoa Joe and AJ Styles in a 3-Way to earn a TNA Title shot at Against All Odds.

This thread title just got a bit more fitting, as a SHEIKY MID-SOUTH MATCH just aired on Cheap Seats on ESPN Classic after the UWF (non-Mid-South version, ironically enough). I expected to see some bad UWF action, and got that PLUS some great Mid-South action (which is still ongoing). I'm loving this night of wrestling action.

Those UWF shows were... something. The first was full of has-beens, while the second was full of never-wases, and Adam Bomb had an axe, Boogie Woogie cut an insane promo, and John Tolos said many absurd things.

1:00 AM UWF show quotes -
David Sammartino - THIS IS THE ONLY COMPANY THAT DOESN’T MAKE A MOCKERY OUT OF PRO WRESTLING!
(Orndorff enters ring)Bruno - Dis man is total non-stop action!
Bruno - Mr. Wonderful took off about 15 pounds, but somehow, he seems very hard.
Abrams - IT’S COMING WRESTLING FANS, THE ORNDORFF PILEDRIVER! BOOM!!! No offense intended, but he Pearl Harbored him!
Abrams - If Dr. Death thinks this is some Davey Meltzer, he’s wrong - THIS IS MR. WONDERFUL!
(after Dan Spivey throws water at him at a press conference)Blair - Dan Spivey, when it’s all over with, you’re gonna look like you’ve got hives! BZZZZZZZZZZ!
Abrams - HERE HE COMES WRESTLING FANS! B. BRIAN BLAIR!
Bruno - We aren’t gonna be seeing any beautiful wrestling move here, he’s gonna try to do real arm to him!
(Spivey hits a neck Breaker)Bruno - WHAT A BACKABREAKER!

1:30 AM UWF show quotes -
Tolos - I don’t know much about this Dynamite David Barry.
DeGeorge - Good job doing your homework.
Tolos - I ALWAYS DO MY HOMEWORK! I don’t know much about this Viper 2 guy, either.
Tolos - The rulebook was made to be broken - I broke them, BUT DIDN’T GET CAUGHT!
DeGeorge - Did they have TV then?
Tolos - I WAS IN BLACK AND WHITE, WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT!?
DeGeorge - Radio must have been great.
(the Nightstalker comes down with an axe)Tolos - LOOK AT THIS GUY! EVERYTHING IS BIG ON THIS GUY! NO GUT!
Tolos - THIS MAN USED HIS WINNINGS FROM GOLF TO START CHAOS ENTERPRISES! DO YOU KNOW WHAT CHAOS MEANS!? C-H-A-O-S - IT MEANS CHAOS AND DESTRUCTION! THE MATCHES WE’VE BEEN SEEING SO FAR HAVE BEEN SUPER-SUPER MATCHES, AND THAT’S FROM THE GOLDEN GREEK!
Tolos - You know this Hessler? He trained in Koloff’s privates… in his secret training school in Russia, so he’s got a bit of Koloff in him!
(Hessler grazes his opponent with a clothesline)Tolos - THESE GUYS DON’T HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE, BUT THEY LOOK LIKE THEY’VE BEEN WRESTLING FOR 20 YEARS! THEY REMIND ME OF ME!
(Casey hits guy with a nine iron)Tolos - THAT THING’S USED FOR GOLF, AND MANY OTHER THINGS!
Tolos - WHAT A SUPER NIGHT OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING! EVERY MATCH IS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER!
Valiant - BOOGIE WOOGIE LOVES YOU PEOPLE! COLONEL RED, WHAT THE HELL’S WRONG WITH YOU BOY? 10 YEARS, 10 YEARS! I GAVE YOU MY SOUL! EVERYTHING POURED OUT OF MY BODY! EVERYTHING YOU KNOW! AND NOW YOU BRING THE RUSSIANS IVAN KOLOFF AND HIS COUSIN, YOU THINK THEY’RE GONNA DO MORE FOR YOU THAN I DID FOR YOU, BOY!? LISTEN BABY, I’VE BEEN ALL OVER THE WORLD, AND ALL I HEAR IS WHAT YOU’RE PUTTING DOWN ON THE STREET, BABY, ABOUT YOUR MAN THAT HAS GIVEN YOU ALL THAT YOU HAVE IN THE WORLD TODAY! WELL BABY, IF YOU WANT A WAR, THAT’S WHAT YOU’VE GOT. BOOGIE WOOGIE IS COMING FOR YOU, RED! BOOGIE WOOGIE IS COMING! YOU’RE MINE! YOU’RE MINE!
DeGeorge - Boogie Woogie is kissing his fans, he’s even kissing Johnny Tolos!
Tolos - I HOPE HE DOESN’T FALL IN LOVE, MAN!
DeGeorge - I don’t know, I saw him wink!
(on Valiant)Tolos - HE CAN REALLY MOVE!
(on Valiant)DeGeorge - LOOK AT THE SKIN ON THIS MAN!
(Valiant does a sleeper)DeGeorge - WHAT AN OLYMPIC WRESTLING MOVE!

As for the Impact results...
Bullet Bob replacing Kip James makes me happy. A senior citizen could be the world tag champion of TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION WRESTLING, while cutting promos better than anyone else in the company. Of course, that won't happen, and the rest of this just sounds like utter shit.

Great, Abyss and Mesias are Kane the Undertaker, fine - this could almost slightly possibly work if fans bought either man as a monster, thus leading to them being UNSTOPPABLE KILLING MACHINES if they team up. Unfortunately for TNA, no one buys them as monsters, so even looking beyond this being a copycat angle of one of the worst angles ever, this completely fails.

Sell crack.

Herb Abrams on B. Brian Blair: "He is a fan favorite, and one of the favorites of fans."

Man, I want to say "who booked this crap?" Dan Spivey should have squashed Blair. Not quite broke his back, fucked his ass, and made him humble...but it should have been an easy win.

It's pretty nostalgic stuff so far, and even though it comes from 1990-1991 or so, there are fewer dead wrestlers on it than there are in the average 1994-1996 episode of WWF television.

What Lance Storm wishes to see in 2008.
This week rather than a look back at 2007 I thought I would take a look ahead, and talk about what I would like to see in 2008…sort of a Lance Storm 2008 wish list, if you will.

ROH: I would love to see ROH land some form of regular TV deal. I just started getting the Fight Network at the tail end of last year and they air an hour of ROH programming each week. The shows appear to just be random DVD match selections, but the stuff is great. I also saw my first ROH PPV this year (Man Up), which was fantastic so the idea of getting to follow the up to date product and follow the PPV build would be tremendous. ROH, for me, is the true WWE alternative programming so I would love to see it get a regular up to date TV program. ROH needs to be exposed to a much bigger market because their product is very good.

TNA: I’m not going to bother wishing for a booking or announcing change in 2008 because that seems to be a futile wish and a subject that has been done to death. What I’d most like to see apart from that in TNA is the return of “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles. The AJ Styles that I saw on Impact this week was the biggest idiot loser in this business’s history, and I’d like the return of the guy that once headlined this company as World Champion. Why anyone would take such a uniquely gifted and talented performer and turn him into the biggest Jack Ass in wrestling history is beyond me. Remember the TNA review show they did on Monday that one time RAW was pre-empted? They declared the 3-way match with AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, and Samoa Joe the greatest match in TNA history. I want that AJ Styles back… actually I’d like that Christopher Daniels and that Samoa Joe back too, but that may be asking too much. AJ is now a Jack Ass, Daniels has been “fired”, and Samoa Joe is now a big whiner…ah TNA.

WWE: There are a few things I’d like to see in 2008 from WWE, the first being the immediate dropping of the Hornswaggle McMahon angle. I am so completely tired of this angle. It produced a nice laugh at Vince’s expense when it was first revealed and managed to somehow turn Finlay baby face, but I can’t see what else this program can produce, apart from a ton of bad matches and poor ratings. The other thing I’d love to see in 2008 is the immediate baby face turn and push of Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin is a lot like AJ Styles in that he is a uniquely gifted athlete that can do things no other performer can do. When Shelton was first moved to RAW and given that brief pushing beating HHH he was amazing, not to mention that awesome match he had on RAW with HBK. Remember the springboard into the super kick finish? That was awesome. I would also like to see Santino Marella made into a full time manager. I have no interest in seeing this guy in matches on a regular basis but I’d be more than happy to hear him cut promos every week. Santino is one of the most entertaining promos WWE has produced in years, maybe decades, and needs to be a regular part of the show but, as I said before, I have no interest in seeing this guy wrestle.

UFC: Above all else I want to see the end of the string of upsets that plagued UFC in 2007. One or two surprise wins can be good for business but when they happen all the time they do more harm than good. If no one wins consistently and every match is a coin toss, no one becomes a star, and it is very hard to create big matches for PPV. I know this business is a shoot and UFC has no control over this but this is a wish list and that is what I wish for. To start a more consistent year I’d love to see Brock Lesnar excel in UFC. His UFC debut in February will like be the first UFC PPV I order and if he can start a dominant win streak Brock Lesnar could become UFC’s next big thing, and that would make me very happy.
We've all adopted the use of the Meltzer star system, haven't we?

TNAWrestlingNews.com has learned EXCLUSIVELY that Senshi will be working TNA events every now and then on a pay per date schedule.

Meltzer didn't make that star rating system - Jim Cornette and someone else did. The Senshi thing's been known for about a day, and could be a good deal for him. Also, here's the three-disc Austin DVD set match listing, which seems incredibly limited given that some of these matches are already on DVD, and WWE owns every significant match the man has ever had.
We've all adopted the use of the Meltzer star system, haven't we?
I don't think he invented five-star ratings. I certainly don't use the same criteria he does for rating wrestling matches.

EDIT: Obviously the one WM match is on DVD elsewhere, but what other matches are available on DVD already?

The Unforgiven '98 match is on that show's DVD release, as is the Austin-Rock WM X7 match, while the HBK/Austin win the tag title match was on the Monday Night War DVD, the Summerslam '97 match was on the Stone Cold Truth DVD, and the Slamboree '93 match was already on the Pillman set.

There's still some gold on there (like the Austin-Steamboat Clash match that Austin wanted on his What? DVD, but they put their BATB match on instead), but a bunch of stuff that just doesn't need to be archived on DVD (like the Kane title win match, that redneck triathlon, or the Yoko-Austin match).

Of course, I'm bummed that the ONE HOLLYWOOD BLONDES MATCH on this set is just a duplicate from another set when they were solid gold throughout their entire run and it doesn't looks like it'll ever be documented really well on DVD (although the Stone Cold Truth did an okay job with it).

I loved my second night of Abrams UWF... action. The first show (the first half of the second show from last night) featured MORE HORRID COMMENTARY, even worse wrestling, and Bob Orton(or Ortron, as shown on the graphic) Jr. cut a promo involving Randy while wearing a stars and bars title belt and pink and white Zubaz.

The second show featured a fake Chief Jay Strongbow, a 10-minute long squash match involving "THE BLACK KNIGHT" facing Davey Meltzer, and both were hilarious thanks to Abrams' commentary, which included a 20 minute meeting in Strongbow's teepee resulting in a personal drizzle, and Davey Meltzer needing to take notes during the squash match. Then Col. DeBeers said he wouldn't wrestle because the referee was black, so the ref fast-counted him, then beat got beaten up by DeBeers in the main event.

1/10 UWF show quotes -

1:00 AM quotes -
Tolos - This Orton is one of the greatest wrestling men in… wrestling today. He can do EVERYTHING… a suplex, A HAMMERLOCK!
DeGeorge - AND THE SUPERPLEX, THE MOVE HE INVENTED!
Tolos - Sometimes when you wrestle in front of full houses like these, you lose your concentration and THINGS GO CRAZY! (camera pans to a part of the arena with one very calm person there, then to a shot of the bleachers with one row filled)
Tolos - I HAVE TO SAY THIS - THE UWF IS THE TOPS IN PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING! AND I’M PROUD TO… OF BEING HERE IN THE UWF!
(camera misses Orton Jr. doing a superplex off the top)Tolos - I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BOB ORTON JUNIOR SUPLEX BEFORE! OFF THE TOP ROPE, A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE CARBON COPIED THAT HOLD, BUT HE’S THE ORIGINAL!
Colonel Red - SHUT UP, SHUT UP! YOU FAT LADY, YOU SHUT UP!
Tolos - What I did for wrestling, I’m gonna do for you as a sportscaster!
DeGeorge - Oh, thank you…
Tolos - THE UWF IS GETTING BIGGER AND FASTER! (Koloff does a leg drop on the arm of his fat opponent)AND THEY MOVE LIKE LIGHTWEIGHTS!
Tolos - IVAN KOLOFF WAS A BIG DRAW!
DeGeorge - WHAT DO YOU MEAN WAS, HE IS A BIG DRAW!?
Tolos - Even the Golden Greek makes a little mistake now and then.
(Koloff scratches his opponent)Tolos - A NORMAL MAN WOULD BE IN A COFFIN AFTER THAT!
(Koloff wins)Tolos - SUPER-SUPER VICTORY!
(Wet and Wild come out)Tolos - THE UWF IS THE BIGGEST NAME IN WRESTLING!
Tolos - This Sunny Beach and Stone Cold are gunning for the world heavyweight titles!
Tolos - THIS IS A REAL SELLOUT CROWD! THIS IS THE WAY WRESTLING SHOULD BE! EVERYONE’S GOING CRAZY!
DeGeorge - Weren’t you the first to wrestle in front of 40,000 at the L.A. Coliseum?
Tolos - Whatever I did, I was the first to do it - Believe me.
(Wet and Wild does a double dropkick to the abdomen)Tolos - THEY HIT HIM WITH DOUBLE!
DeGeorge - AGAIN!
Tolos - UNIVERSAL WRESTLING IS THE BEST UNIVERSAL WRESTLING FEDERATION IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!
Tolos - THESE TWO KIDS ARE SUPER-DUPER!
Orton - When I take my son to his wrestling meets, he’s 12 and an all-state champion, and my daughter comes up to me and says that kids hate me, and that gets to me. I’m happy now. I bought a gym and it’s going well, and I can walk around without getting stabbed, but I still love to wrestle, and Mr. Wonderful, you’re saying you’re the best, well Mr. Wonderful, I’m the champ - come get me! Bruno - The Black Knight is about 6 foot 8, 280 pounds, and he’s much bigger than this Davey Meltzer guy.
Bruno - I’m not too familiar about this Black Knight. He could be wearing that mask due to a deformity - I knew a man like that who had an accident and chose to wore a mask.
Bruno - Black Knight hits the shoeplex. Double chickenwing shoeplex!
Abrams - Meltzer should be taking notes on this match.
Bruno - Davey looks like he could use a little more gym work.
(Meltzer punches the Knight)Abrams - COME ON, DAVEY BOY!
Bruno - Bardy slam!
Abrams - WHO IS THIS MASKED MAN, I ASK!?
Bruno - He is shooting cackles at this big man, Spivey, you can’t do that against him.
Abrams - This Mike Allen, from Local Town, California, is no match for Dangerous Dan Spivey. He’s DEVIOUS!
Abrams - CHIEF JAY STRONGBOW IS IN THE UWF, BRUNO! He showed me around his teepee for about 20 minutes, Bruno.
Bruno - Was it a big teepee? Were there other Indians?
Abrams - IT WAS THE BIGGEST TEEPEE AT THE RESERVATION! And it had about 11 other Indians.
Abrams - The chief knows that ring inside and outside the ring, Bruno.
Bruno - Yes, he does.
Abrams - COME ON CHIEFY! You know, he showed me that war dance when I was over at his teepee, and it started to drizzle a bit.
Bruno - This David Sammartino name rings a bell.
DeBeers - I DON’T WANT A BLACK REFEREE REFEREEING COL. DEBEER’S MATCHES!

Here's Meltzer vs. Williams from the first UWF show - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ml1-G6xSW8

Oh, and apparently, WWE has signed Chris Harris to a deal. His TNA contract expired last week, and he left the company despite them wanting to stay. Given that he couldn't even get over as a face to the Impact Zone fans for an extended period of time, I'm a bit leery of him being in WWE, but hopefully it works out for him.

Steve Gerweck is reporting that TNA mainstay “Wildcat” Chris Harris, a member of the multiple time tag team champions America’s Most Wanted, has signed with World Wrestling Federation. He is most likely going to be debuting on ECW, where he'll job to the Miz for two months before giving his notice.

Looks like Demoman will be watching WWE!

Thanks for posting the match listing for the Austin DVD!

A few things:

1. A match on a '98 DVD release is going to be nearly impossible to obtain now, so I don't mind that being on here.

2. I can live with only 1 WM match, I'd prefer no WM matches, and those saved for the WM box sets, but that was a very important match in Austin's career.

3. The Slamboree match from the Pillman DVD was definitely a poor choice. Despite being a good match, I'd like to think there's other Hollywood Blondes material they could've pulled from. Weird...

4. The Redneck triathlon is definitely a waste of space, but I actually am kind of glad the other two matches were included. Any match with Yoko is fascinating to me just because of his crazy size. That was near the end of Yoko's career though, so it's probably a bit rough. I do like the Kane matches being on there. I doubt Kane will ever get another title reign, or his own DVD (outside of See No Evil) so having his 24 hour reign on there is kind of cool.

Or name for that matter. I say, Calvin Le Vus!

To play up on the fact that his name isn't really Calvin at all, kind of like what they did with Monty Brown.

Seriously though, I wouldn't be surprised if they gave him a different name than Chris.

Due to:

A. Benoit
B. Jericho and Masters when they bring him back after all the steroid allegations die down.

I was thinking Jayson Jupiter. Alliteration is cool, and so are planets.

That's a good point about Masters, BTW. I hadn't thought about it like that.

Vince cannot resist an unnaturally large muscle man. They probably told him to lay low for awhile, go hang out in the indies or Japan. Try to get at least a little better, and we'll see ya in a year or two.

I like Jayson Jupiter, although I'm pretty sure it'll be something as unique as "Drew McIntyre/Galloway" Not sure if they ever went one way or another on that.

Either way, I'd imagine WWE does nothing to put over a talent from TNA, and Harris is stuck on SD/ECW. Ironically, he could end up in Masters' spot in a high profile feud with Chuck Palumbo.

If he's to have any chance of succeeding, he must be a good heel. WWE desparately needs more top heels, although at the same time there's an abundance of mid-card heels. You do the math.

Some unpleasantries I didn't even think of regarding WWE in HD:

According to a well placed source in the company, WWE will only test their superstars for marijuana once per year. If a superstar fails a marijuana test they will be subject to a $1000 fine but it will not result in a suspension or count towards their three strikes as part of the Wellness Policy.

Bryan Alvarez claims that drug testing in WWE has already become much less stringent than it was earlier last year. Apparently the feeling is that when it was realized that there were not going to be Congressional hearings and the chances of hearings taking place anytime in the future are slim to none, that everyone took a deep breath concerning the Wellness Policy.

It will be interesting to see if physiques change in the coming weeks as traditionally in WWE, superstars reach their peak in time for WrestleMania. Another thing to watch will be the physical signs of steroid use as with WWE programming airing in High Definition, things such as back acne will be as clear as ever to see.
