Where the Buffalo Roam kinda sucks, although it's worth seeing Bill Murray's interpretation of Thompson.

And that new film would be based on, and titled, The Rum Diaries.
Is Johnny Depp going to be in it? If not, I'll probably boycott.
How did that black guy die?
In that music video though, it's his brother lip syncing. It was also said that he had lupus.

He's supposed to be, but they haven't even begun pre-production on the film.

It's been kicked around for the past 5 years, or so.

It takes place during a different decade, by the way... I want to say the late '50s.
Christ, talking to my mom on the phone sometimes is unbelievably painful.
I find talking to any relative over the phone is painful.

The Rum Diaries was a fantastic novel...a great piece of literature.

Fear and Loathing was one of the best adaptations to film and of course Depp is one of the greatest actors to ever be on the silver screen.

edit: Brak don't forget it was set in San Juan Puerto Rico...
Good call.

No pun.
Face to face I have no problem with but over the phone is torture. I have no idea why that is.

Yeap, same. Very strange, indeed.

Shitty. Lupus is pretty bad.
That Avatar game is for ghainiguz and it ruins the whole concept of gamer points.
it's just another step in the long line of "play a title to get an easy # of gamerpoints" for the people who are helplessly addicted to furthering their gamerscores.

Gamerpoints make me sad because they are right up my alley, but I'm getting a 360 too late in the game to get anywhere near the amount of points most people have.
Yep, hence his unfortunate passing.

:whistle2:(
Yup. My aunt had it and it killed her. And now they're saying my older sister might have it as well. We find out on Monday.

 Holy shit. Those are some insane reflexes and it looked like a wicked strong punch too.
it's just another step in the long line of "play a title to get an easy # of gamerpoints" for the people who are helplessly addicted to furthering their gamerscores.
This is bollocks though. It will make the points completely worthless if other games do the same thing.

 I've had my Xbox since like a few months after launch and my score is only about 1000.

It's not a competition. ;)

Once I finish up COD4, I'll have broken 6000 after about 1 year. Brak broke 30,000 in under two.

Oh, I know, but I love pointless shit like that and I'll never be able to have the enough games to catch up to all y'all niggas. :[

Omgwtfbbq I want Rockband, but I fear it'll be impossible to find.

To go back to the Hunter S Thompson discussion. I really hope The Rum Diaries comes to fruition. Its a fantastic book and I'd love to see Depp reprise the roll. I'd also love to see Hell's Angels be made into a movie. The insanity depicted in that book is even greater than Fear and Loathing. (it's not a better book however .. certainly good and very interesting though)

It's a fucking bug. And someone chose to exploit it.

Getting a 50 hit combo in any game is usually pretty difficult. However, someone missed this bug in testing and you can get the 1000 pretty easy. Not all games are going to do it, so chill. :)

My guess is you also probably have too much of a life to be anywhere near the top. And hopefully too much sense to play shit like TMNT, Avatar, and Open Season just for points.

The only way to treat lupus is with immunosuppressants, right?

Luckily my ninja pre-ordered his copy and were getting wasted and playing it on wednesday night.

Ohh. I didnt see that. Based on the title of the thread I thought you just unlocked 1,000 points for starting the game.

There's a video of how it's done on the joystiq page the OP linked to.
It literally takes 2 minutes.
Only if the game is worth playing in the first place.

Otherwise, you have people suffering through the game for the points because they can't help it (see Brak vs. Stranglehold).
Heh.
Thing is, Brak has a problem. Not everyone will slog through the pain like he will.

True. But it's still a bug. :)

TFN. (At least with Stranglehold)

I don't know about too much of a life. I wouldn't buy shit just for points though.
Luckily my ninja pre-ordered his copy and were getting wasted and playing it on wednesday night.
I didn't preorder since I don't have a 360 yet but I'll be wanting it this holiday once I get one and I'm sure it'll be all bought up for Christmas gists, leaving none for mizzle.
I've never eaten a single thing on that list.
You're telling me you've never had Uno's Deep Dish pizza?
You're telling me you've never had Uno's Deep Dish pizza?
Man, I've gotten the personal before, but I usually never can eat the whole thing.

On second thought, I have eaten the whole thing before -- that means my breadstick record of 8 at olive garden is probably only the tip of the iceberg.
Why are you always in hotels?
Job makes me travel at this point. I like it, but I should really really get a portable printer. Lugging around my printer hotel to hotel is getting old fast.

what do you do?
Chicken Select Strips - check (but no ranch).
That's the only thing I've had on that list.
I eat really bad shit, though.
AhA! I worked at the outback before. I kept telling people those cheese fries are equal to like 5 bigmacs....o.o

This is such a bizarre song. It's Marvin Gaye's Mercy Mercy Me covered by The Strokes, but it also has Eddie Vedder and Josh Hommes on lead vocals, and The Strokes singer doesn't really do anything.
