I am going to be so god damn poor.

I bought Assassin's Creed, Rock Band (pre-ordered a while ago, so it'll be hitting my cc soon), Twin Peaks Gold Box from DDD 20% off sale, about $30 worth of DVDs from JR.com, and I have to file two grad school applications in two weeks.

Oh and did I mention I have to buy Xmas presents...

At least I convinced my gf to get me Mass Effect for XMas and my parents to get me Super Mario Galaxy.
 
Quick Mario Galaxy question: In the observatory I see 5 stars for the Space Junk Galaxy. But when I go to the actual galaxy there's no mission for the 5th star but instead a question mark over one of the other missions. I'd played that one through again but didn't get another star. How do I get that 5th star?
 
How many tracks do Rock Band and GHIII share?

I hope not many, or I may have to reconsider dropping so much cash on it after Xmas.

But oh how those drums call me.

The fifth star is in the question marked mission.

Spoiler for how to get it.

There should be a hungry Luma on the planet that has a glass dome around it and a little environment underneath it. Feed it 50 star bits. It should lead you to the star.

I think that's the Space Junk one. Might be Battlerock, but I don't think so.
 
I got two science court cds on ebay for 30 a piece but it irks me to see not two weeks ago a whole bunch went for 5-10 dollars. Ug. Of course when I'd look for them, they'd be more expensive.

This Rolling Green Galaxy is some tough shit. Is this what Super Monkey Ball Wii plays like?

I doubt it since SMB lets you control the level, not the ball. It is hard though for those that want to get as many coins as possible, instead of just getting to the end.

I believe the final count was 5, it was either 4 or 5, but I think there'll be some more in DLC.
 
Yeah, Rolling Green Galaxy sucked, but I just got to the end and didn't care about coins.

Sling Shot Galaxy or whatever it's called (the other question block Galaxy on Dome 2) really sucked.

Also, what is the final ruling on which guitars and compatible with which games as far as GH and Rock Band go?
 
Finally played some Super Mario Galaxy. Only got the power to blast into space, landed on some planet where the star told me to gather star chips or something, then I saved. I just wanted a taste. The first planet where I was chasing the white rabbits had me turning my head sideways. I hope I don't keep doing that.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the ruling was the GH guitars work on RB, but the RB guitars don't work on GH.

Yes. The GH3 display at my local bricked -- so they moved the GH3 guitar to the Rockband display.

I'm still wondering if RB PS3 controller works with PS2 GH/GH2 ...

Seems pretty great after just playing for a few minutes. Pretty intuitive. And no, no classic controller. Gotta use the Wii Remote and Nunchuck.

Ya, I went as cheap as possible for the GH/RB thing. Got the GHII pack for Xmas (for 360), got disk-only GHIII (thanks TRU 50% off) and I'm getting RB, and I'll use the GHII Xplorer Guitar as my bass. I don't have any more money to spend on this crap. Maybe next summer, but probably not.
 
Since I have GHIII Wii and GHI/II PS2, I was hoping RB guitar worked with GH so if I ever wanted I could buy game only GHII or III for 360. Guess not. Oh well. I still need Rock Band.

What ever happened to that guy who had the misprinted FFVII that had its third disc as a spongebob game?
 
The GH2 (360) guitar works with GH3 and RB.

The GH2 bundle will be $60 lot of places next week and free with the purchase of a 360 at CC.

So the question is who would win in a fight? the Chinese + dolphins vs the Japanese + sharks? Also, the Miami Dolphins vs the San Jose Sharks?
