The AN-94? No. It's automatic and made post-1986, so it's Illegal in America, and also I believe there's a ban on foreign firearms. I wouldn't want one, to be honest. The ergonmics apparently suck and the action is incredibly complex. But it'd be a nice trophy.

After having read all of that, it turns out I really don't have anything to say. I'm going to get sleep. Hopefully, this shit will have quieted down by the morning, and here's hoping shrike keeps posting in the OTT, even without the ability to use those spifftacular mod powers.

And remember - if nobody makes posts about shrike, we can't keep, as marten said, beating a maltempered, rabid horse. For the time being, I don't think there's anything else that needs to be discussed, or that will change if we do so.
 
Sometimes my boss can be kinda cool. I asked for three days paid vacation this week (wed, thurs fri) and he accepted. He's so frazzled and distracted by other shit, he probably didn't know what he was saying.

Still, over the next two weeks, 80 hours x 7$ per hour plus 2 hours of overtime at $10 = somewhat rich horsie.

Plus he's going to Taiwan on tuesday for three weeks. Hellz jeah.

Finally beat Snake's portion of MGS2. Took me a little while, as I had no idea what I was doing during the speech scene. He was quickly dispatched though, roughly about 4 hours in. I see at least one reference to what's happening in MGS4, the mention of how Solid Snake will turn into an old man in a few years.

If this was 2001, I'd possibly be really confused and pissed right now. :lol: :whistle2:(

Oh god. Well, okay, so it loads a round like a normal AK, but it has a round sitting on a small feeding ramp... the rifle fires, and the recoil makes the bolt carrier recoil, which ejects, but it moves with a series of pulleys and wires to make the bolt return very quickly, feeding another round. In the mean time, the entire reciever is moving backwards, and fully recoils after the second shot is fired.

Basically, it fires the first two rounds at 1200 rounds per minute, but after those two rounds, if you continue to hold the trigger, it will revert to a very slow 600 rounds per minute. So, if you pull the trigger and fire the two quick rounds, then release the trigger, you can fire the next two shots at 1200 rpm. Sort of semi-auto, but a semi-auto burst, if you will. It's very difficult to understand, but a marvel of engineering. :lol:

I just watched the first episode of Burn Notice since I had it downloaded and several OTTers said how good it was. I'm glad to see Bruce Campbell doing something like this. I've been in the middle of watching my DVDs of Pretender so all I can think during the show is "why is Kyle being so nice, what happened to I decide who lives or dies"
