The Legend of Zelda for GameCube promises some 70 hours of gameplay...

I'm so glad this is getting released my senior year of high school. I'm glad I'll be able to get to it while I still have a ton of time on my hands without any real responsibilities.

If it's long and quality the whole way through, than the longer the better. If you don't have time to finish it, then don't, what's the problem with not finishing a game. Plus, nobody said you have to finish the game in a few days. Play it some, get bored, come back later and play more.

BTW, I don't expect the New Zelda to be 70 hours long, or quality all the way though (I don't think any of the other Zeldas were quality all the way though either).

70 hours isn't that long when you play Strategy RPGs.

I can't imagine it would take a Zelda vet more than 30 hours to beat the main quest (if that). 70 hour estimate is at best for doing all sidequests and for younger kids who aren't as skilled as Zelda vets...

I need closure!

hmm I really doubt it something like Tales of Symphonia for example 80 hrs of gameplay while it only took most 40 hrs to complete!

You guys must be on crack. Not the kind you find on the corner, but the kind you find undergound sold buy a guy with an eye-patch and scars. If you don't want a game to be long, well your just on crack. Because it's worth your money when spend along time playing a game. Cause more of your time spent playing, the more the story unfolds and you never want it to end. I hate games your can beat in 10 hours or less (Star Fox, Jungle Beat, Metroid Prime). Let's just say you going to the movies. You payed $9. The movie sucked and it was 23 mins long. Was iit worth your money? NO. But with The Legend Of Zelda,it will be a great game and 70 hours! So you of the people who say, " A 70 hour game scares me, boo hoo, I want to be able to it beat in 1 hour because I'm a pussy." Viva The 70 Hour Gameplay!:booty:

I just talked to my dad this last weekend. He is nearing 100+ hours on Final Fantasy Tactics for GBA. He is over the hill, works about 10+ hours a day and travels a lot. And this was in a matter of a few weeks, if that.
Apparently there aren't many role players in this thread. RPGs often go over 40 hours. But I expect Zelda to be more like 35 hours, tops.
No kidding, I average around 50-60 hours for RPGs. I don't have a ton of money to spend on games, so I like to get my money's worth. It takes me a month or two usually to beat one game, since I don't have a lot of time to play and I don't play everyday.

if a video game is like sex, 70 hrs better result in some serious climax.

the end of windwaker was like she raked it right at the end of a good bj
