The mother of all dumb but dubiously brilliant Ebay auctions (360 related)

i don't even know what to say. if the buyer wasn't preying on the ignorance of others, i'd be jealous he got so much for just his xbox 360. i hope he at least sends them a game or two. and it pretty much definately is a guaranteed bad feedback for him.

PLEASE REMEMBER YOU ARE ONLY BIDDING ON 1 XBOX 360 PREMIUM SYSTEM GURANTEED TO SHIP THE MORNING OF NOVEMBER 22ND. ANYTHING THAT COMES WITH THE SYSTEM IS TO BE CONSIDERED MY GIFT TO YOU

guess the winner didn't remember.

probably not - the only thing I can hope is that this guy'll never get his money from the winning bidder

If the bastard doesn't pay up, i'm gonna neg him to hell......*cough*....i mean....yeah, i hope it was a joke bid to show the seller how much of an ass he is. knowing how people get a christmas nears, it's a fat chance.

what is wrong with this is that they are just bidding on the xbox. The extra stuff he makes menton of is not part of the deal unless he feels like being generous.

So he has tricked someone into spending $2500 on an xbox.
Uhm, sorry if I'm being dense, but what's wrong with this?
many things, but above all, he's actually selling an xbox 360 and nothing else. he made it look like all this extra stuff would come with the auction, but he's not technically obligated to ship any of it, as he left himself an open door with the statement I posted above ^^^ Even if he doesn't ship any of it, he can't get in any trouble.
If he actually had all this extra stuff to throw in with the auction, why wouldn't he just list it all instead of turning it into a game? The items he hints at are worth well over $10,000 total.

of course, if the buyer has more than 3 braincells, he'll do a chargeback when he finds out that he paid $2500 for a 360.

I am wondering if this guy can get in trouble with eBay for this auction. Even though he says you are only bidding on a 360, he does say he is adding items (gifts) to the auction. I didn't see anywhere where he said he reserves the right to not give these "gifts." I could have missed it though. He never says what he is adding, but only gives the clues, but he is still explicitly stating things are being added.

i don't know why people are falling for this. the seller says that he'll add a mystery gift for every $500 increment bid. some of the mystery gifts include (according to his lame clues) a sony psp, extra wireless controller, apple ipod, 5 games, etc. each of these items don't even cost $500 LOL! he says it's about $7,000 worth of stuff LMAO! what a joke!

according to his auction, here are the 5 mystery gifts that the bidder will receive for his $2500 bid:

CLUE #1 5 GAMES

CLUE #2 A _ P _ E I _ O D

CLUE #3 IT IS PORTABLE HAS A SCREEN AND WORKS ON BOTH AC AND DC POWER

CLUE #4 EXTRA WIRELESS

CLUE #5 EVERYTHING IS BRAND NEW

LMAO! gift number 5 is "EVERYTHING IS BRAND NEW!" gee thanks!

5 games = $360 max
apple ipod = depends on what version, but it should be less than $250
clue #3 (nintendo ds or sony psp?) = $280 max
extra wireless (i'm assuming controller) = $60

edit: he will be spending around $1400 but is receiving $2500. oh well, i won't hate. if he can get a sucker to bid and pay, good for him! :D

I think that the whole "gift" thing is to get around one of eBay's rules...the seller says explicitly that he will add the extras, and I don't see how calling them "gifts" negates this. Besides, as doraemonkerpal noted, the seller is still making quite a profit...
The seller's feedback is bad though - a good percentage, but if you actually read it...a large percentage of his feedback seems to be of the obligatory positive nature.
Also, I noticed that some of his other auctions are basically just raffles (which are against eBay policiy), but disguised with the "gifts" thing. He says he is just selling a picture (.jpg) and it comes with a free gift that MIGHT be worth something.

I just went through some of his feedback and I have to wonder how much $$$ this guy has made off this stuff. I also can't help but wonder what some of the stuff people actually received was.

stupid feedback pasting... anyway, i find it odd that he has such a high feedback rating, most people think its funny and dont seem to mind. and he seems to refund money all the time because he knows hes just kidding. a good guy id say.
