Zbyszko's comments towards Jericho makes it sound like he hasn't watched any wrestling since 97 or 98.

Watching the Rise and Fall of WCW on Netflix streaming. Moreso than any of the other WWE "documentaries" there's definitely some veiled burying of the competition. Particularly Jeff Jarrett and Vince Russo. They absolutely BURY both of them. Not one single person had a good thing to say about him throughout the entire thing. The closest they come is having Rey Mysterio say something to the effect of "well he seemed like a nice enough guy."

Another vibe I kind of got from the documentary is that Goldberg, despite working in the industry off and on for almost a decade has absolutely no idea how the wrestling works. He really had a "eh, whatever makes sense" attitude toward David Arquette winning the title and really just kind of seemed like he didn't have anything critical to say about the major blunders of WCW. Then again, I suppose since he moreso than any main eventer I can recall in recent history had everything handed to him on a silver platter his attitude might be a little different. They signed him with no experience, they booked him right to the top, they made the lack of shoots for his character part of his character, etc. They essentially gave him everything without making him work for it at all.

The main reason I bring the documentary up though is because they mention the WCW's overuse of celebrities in their stories and we're sitting here getting close to a Wrestlemania to feature completely undeserving trash in a match. I couldn't help but think as I was watching it, but what about Snooki? Granted this isn't anything nearly as bad as Champion Arquette but I'd certainly say that at this point we're treading on Jay Leno and Karl Malone territory.

Droz should induct them. After all, he was the one who pushed Hawk off the Titantron.

Sorry, but I can't jump on the celebrity heat bandwagon for Wrestlemania. They've always had celebrities involved, from Mr T, to Susan St James (Who?), Bob Uecker, etc. Every year it's someone or more accurately, multiple someones.

The roster just ain't getting over. Look, Zack Ryder has some funny YouTube videos that show he's intelligent and a good sense of humor. But he doesn't sell PPVs. I don't think it's his fault, as WWE has been so comfortable with the reruns at the top (on a side note, Vince McMahon cited Mysterio, Cena, and Orton as the "future of the business" during a recent conference call discussing financials, an implication that ignores that they've headlined damn near every WM for the past 6 years). WWE has not done what they needed to in (1) making new talent or (2) making wrestling seem important.

So, yeah, they need Snooki. Sorry, it's not a popular choice, but until wrestling promotions realize that fans want to see wrestling, they'll continue to hot shot bullshit on a plate to you. WWE's financials reflect a fanbase who's a bit fatigued by the product - they'll adapt if that trend continues, but if it stays stable expect to see little to no change.

So...they couldn't just get Paul Ellering?

On a side note, I spent a good 2 hours downloading some pretty awesome CAWs on :ps3: Smackdown vs. RAW 2011. (yes, I was that bored)

Some of the people on there are so talented when it comes to that sort of thing. How they can make logos and designs from scratch is beyond me. I have a hard enough time writing basic things on a t-shirt.

I still have yet to get Fan Axxess though. I can't seem to pull the trigger on it, knowing I can just download an equal (if not better) CAW from someone else.

Same article mentioned he may go in too.

RE: spoilers...how many of you guys actually avoid what's in the spoiler tags? I don't care that we use them, just curious to see how many aren't clicking through.

I get where you're coming from but I still feel like there's a difference between involving celebrities and straight-up throwing them into matches. Mike Tyson as guest referee, Bob Uecker as special announcer, etc. are fine but when they're actually in the match as a wrestler (Mr. T included) its devaluing the product and the work that even the lowest jobber on the WWE's roster does. To be given a match simply because they're a celebrity is not what I want to see. Snooki being involved with Wrestlemania would probably rub me the wrong way no matter what because of my feelings toward the entire culture her show (Jersey Shore) celebrates but I would be less irked by it if it was simply as a ring valet, special guest, etc. capacity.

Starting with SvR 2010, most of the more famous CAW makers started to create their designs on the computer called textures and then went into the game and just wrapped it around a generic CAW. That's why all the faces look almost like they could belong on the default roster and also why the t-shirts and trunk designs look just like the real thing. Like:

I had no idea you could import texture. How are they doing this?

I look at spoiler tags.

Gotta hack the game. I havent done it myself as it looks kinda complicated. Should be some youtube tutorials out there or websites if you google it.

I read spoiler tags.

I don't care how the caw's are made, they are phenomenal. As long as they have no advantage in the game, they can hack textures all day long! Now if only someone would make a decent WCW Jericho..

Thought this was pretty interesting:

Which Wrestlers' Heads [Abdullah the Butcher would] Like To Stick A Fork Into: "Ric Flair would never fight me....never....he would never fight me, and I could have made a lot of money with him. But the two top guys I'd like to stick a fork in...Johnny Ace...and Vince McMahon. And then when I was stabbing him in the head, I would have said you never should have listened to the guys telling you not to bring me in."

I thought the Mayweather buildup and match was the absolute best use of a celebrity since Tyson.

That said, Snooki gets you TMZ coverage..but people who watch TMZ will wait until that show talks about her WM appearance. With a sports celebrity you might be able to sway some people who see the ESPN coverage into actually buying the show.

Many within World Wrestling Entertainment feel that Michael Cole's ego has gotten out of control in recent months. There have been reports of "The Voice of WWE" having tremendous heat amongst the locker room. In light of Cole's Twitter miscue over the weekend, one company source gave his opinion on how the lead WWE annnouncer conducts himself behind the scenes.

"Is Cole getting a big head? HELL YES," the source exclaimed. "Ever since he was reading the GM e-mails he started begging to become GM and walks around like his sh-- doesn't stink. He has an opinion on everything."

The source also indicated that Cole berates creative writers who hand him scripts, as he feels he can say whatever he wants on television. Many feel Cole's on-screen persona has gone to his head as how he portrays himself on television reflects his behavior behind the scenes.

The source indicated that incidents such as his flagrant remark on Twitter would be cause for termination if Vince McMahon was looking for an excuse to release a talent. However, the organization has too much invested in the Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole program to abandon it.

You know...this doesn't surprise me.

"He can't do that! He can't do that!"

OVER and OVER. The only part of that whole thing that bothered me. I agree on your point however. Almost made me forget about Big Show as a Sumo.

So, why is Punk still wearing a Nexus shirt?

Random question. I mean, it just seems like a group may be dead when you're, you know, the only member.

Yeah I wasn't a fan of Mayweather, but the build up was OK. Snooki. Man I hope she gets booed out of the building when she stinks up the place and she'll leave when no one is kissing her ass. Out the door faster than you can say "payday"

I was expressly disappointed the crowd didn't rip Snooki apart. Hopefully Atlanta knows better. The crowd I was in hated Floyd Mayweather.

Can you imagine what would have happened if WM were at Madison Square Garden this year?

She'd be pelted with penicillin.

I know we were all mad about it at the time, but making a big presentation about turning the W upside down on the belt was awesome.

Mistico's old masks are much better than his Sin Cara mask. And the name Sin Cara just doesn't roll off the tongue, regardless if his name matches his new mask.

You know, I'm an Undertaker fan, and the missus is a Shawn Michaels fan. So it's a year today that I haven't been allowed to like the Undertaker.
This show is all build.
It's the show before Wrestlemania. Were you expecting a show with a ton of matches?
Good use of that song (as there was in the Tom Jane Punisher movie)
Ah. I thought I'd heard that song before. Ennio Morricone it ain't.

FINALLY they confirm the match I expected it to be all along. I did not get why sites kept reporting the face team to be Kofi/Christian/Show/Kane.

Ugh. That post-match was almost as bad as the "Kane-a-Rooni."

decent deals on the WWE All-Stars game tomorrow.

-TRU will have $10 ppv cash with purchase.
-KMart will have a $10 gaming coupon with a $15 wwe merchandise coupon.

One, I agree with what's been said... why take the belt off Kofi if Barrett is in a tag match that has nothing to do with Kofi on Sunday? Bizarre.

Two, I couldn't give less of a shit about this. The odds are even now? They have Big Show and Kane, why the fuck do they need Santino and Kozlov? Ugh.

Three, Kane's random turns annoy me more than anyone else's. Wasn't he the most evil piece of shit on the roster only a month or two ago? Then, all of a sudden, he's a good guy doing the Santino motion in the ring. fuck. Off.
