The new Michael Moore film "Sicko" has a release date
There's not a single documentary that isn't slanted in some way.
This is true but his are to the extreme limit.
It was really more about E-Z-B and VanillaGorilla having a make-out session in the thread that should have been in vs, but they wanted to share their love with the rest of us. Comparative critiques (though you can't really apply it to this movie yet) should be fine.

Fixed.
Yeah, VanillaGorilla is a good kisser. But your dad does wonders with his tongue.
Yeah, VanillaGorilla is a good kisser. But your dad does wonders with his tongue.
Aw, I hurt your feelings by calling you out on your threadcrapping? You have literally a whole forum dedicated to allowing E-Z-B to be E-Z-B, that is an insanely boring, party line spouting sock puppet. Don't be surprised that people don't want to see you outside of said forum.
I despise Michael Moore, but I admit I am looking forward to seeing this movie.
Well, you have a vested interest in seeing what kinds of arguments he makes.

I, for one, hope he certainly exposes the complicity of the government and the pharmaceutical industry as a major part of what has fucked over US-style health care. However, I'm sure insurance companies will share the brunt of his ire.
Well I'm a die hard Republican and I'm looking forward to seeing this. The health care system in this country is terrible and it shouldn't be a partisan issue. Hopefully this movie will draw enough attention to the problem and make it a big part of the 2008 election.
I look forward to your reaction to the movie, as well as what sorts of solutions you think our health care system needs. You've a respectable perspective on health care in a day and age where *EVERYTHING* is regarded as a partisan issue. I don't expect Moore to wow you, but I do truly hope that people can look beyond the person making the film (while not losing sight of who he is, of course) and take the film's points for what they are. If they find out he is incorrect, great; I respect those who search out sources to confirm or deny arguments made. However, I can't respect the "it sucks because it's Michael Moore" crowd.

Truth be told, it's entirely possible that it could influence politics (though I personally believe the increasing cost of goods due to the increasing cost of oil makes health care shrivel in terms of immediacy to the American public). After all, look at what Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle," a work of fiction, did for laborers and industry workers in the US (despite Sinclair being an out-in-the-open socialist!).

I think I've seen this movie then.

I sure hope so too but I'm also bracing myself for a documentary that espouses the virtues of socialized medicine without showing its shortcomings as well.

There was a fantastic take on this issue on Dateline maybe a year ago that in my opinion completely demonstrated what is wrong with our healthcare system. They followed an elderly woman on Medicare, a middle-aged woman on an HMO, a young waiter with no health insurance and an illegal immigrant and each of their experiences after they needed hospitalization for a major medical condition. I'll leave it to you all to guess who got the best care/least shafted by the system and who had it worst.

so basically its a movie of michael moore butt naked on the hottest day in july eating a mayonaise sandwhich doing pelvic thrusts and squats while sweating like a melting ice cube ?
