The new Transformers game

PsyClerk

CAGiversary!
Anyone played it yet? Is it as bad as the magazines and online reviews make it out to be? I was trying to look at the reader reviews over at GameFAQs, but that one single review link is the one that doesn't work out of all the links on the site.

There is a demo of the game in this months Official PLaystation Magazine. Maybe you guys should try that. That is what convinced me to buy the game.

I really, really enjoy it.
It's a decent game, and packed with extras for the transformers fan, like production documents from making the toys, instructions on how to transform the toys, pictures of the toyline, the old G1 Transformers PSAs (yes, they also say "and knowing is half the battle).

Your enjoyment of this game will probably vary depending on how much you actually like transformers.

I'll have to see if I can pick up the demo. It looks pretty good, but I'm an old school TF fan, so I'm not sure how I'll take to the microcon thing.

Several of those reviews are 75-80. The GMR review seems to bringing the average down.

I played it, and I think it's decent. Not quite as much personality as I think it should have, but turning into a truck and running over Decepticlones is fun. I think I would pick it up when I can get it for $25 after GGC.

I played the heck out of the Demo in this months PSM mag. Neat game. It plays a lot like Metal Arms (also an incredibly fun game) , although there's a bit of slowness in response when controlling a gigantic transforming robot vs. a tiny one like in metal arms. I'd buy it for $19.99, but I don't think it's worth $50. But hey, I'm a cheap ass!

Lots of Slowdown in the demo ticked me off, but they say that its cleaned up in the Final game. Anyway, I personally don't like the movement, but I think it is very realistic. I mean I'm almost posotive robots moving at high speeds wouldn't stop on a dime, so this just proves that even further, but it is quite annoying. Anyway, I'll probably pick it up if I see it floating around for 25-30.

So long as you don't ever want to see a G1 game make it's way over here, that's probably a good position to take... I would really like them to do a similar game using G1 characters and models, so I'm actually paid the full price for this one.

The demo roxored my boxorz!1!!! ...it definately convinced me to pick it up...Didn't notice any slowdown in the OPM demo...it's also on the new Jampack demo disc as well.
Well, I'm not really that big of a Transformers fan, so how much do you think it would be worth?
If you could care less about transformers, it's then a slightly better than average 3rd person adventure game where you can shoot, drive and fly your way through multiple levels to meet your objectives.
I would figure you probably wouldn't be disappointed with it for 20-30 dollars.

Just the sheer size of some of the Decepticon enemies (Tidal Wave is HUGE!!) and the wide open, well presented levels and some simple situational puzzles and such (Using Vehicle or Robot mode, etc) make this worth at least a rental.

I have this game. Its fun, but...worth $50 new? No way! Its worth a rental though. And the unlockable extras will make any hardcore old school Transformers fan wet thier pants with joy.

I bought this game as a birthday gift for my husband, he is an old school Transformers fan. The only reason I paid full price for it was because it was a gift for someone...personally, if I were to buy this game for myself, I'd wait for the price to drop to like $20 or less. Or just goof off on the demo.

I played the demo and I thought the controls were a bit clunky. When you transform you can go really fast, but can barely control yourself.

Worst of all the transformation sound stinks - it's like they tried to add a realistic sound instead of the usual sound.

my friend rented it today and was playing it at my house. The game looked pretty good, but it seemed like a pretty generic shooter (although transforming into a truck and running over things was pretty cool)
