There are plenty more, I'm sure but it seems like there are an abundance of big name bands that have just released or are releasing music in the next 2 months or so...

NIN - With Teeth
System of a Down - Mezmerize
Weezer - Make Believe
Dave Mathews Band - Stand Up
Garbage - Bleed Like Me
Beck - Guero
Audioslave - Out of Exile
Foo Fighters - In Your Honor
Bruce Springsteen - Devils and Dust
Porcupine Tree - Deadwing
New Order - Waiting for the Sirens Call
Limp Bizkit - The Unquestionable Truth Pt. 1
Gorillaz - Demon Days
The Wallflowers - Rebel, Sweetheart
At The Drive-In - Anthology: This Station is Operational
Oasis - Don't Believe the Truth
Staind - Chapter V
Coldplay - X&Y
The White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan
Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill (acoustic)
Billy Corgan - TheFutureEmbrace
Eels - Blinking Lights and Other Revelations (I can't wait for this)
A Static Lullaby - Faso Latido
Finch - Say Hello To Sunshine
Funeral for a Friend - Hours
Dredg - Catch Without Arms

I'm sure I'm leaving some out. Feel free to list other CDs you know are coming soon...

The NIN CD is amazing, Weezer's is alright (too emo for my tastes. The music ROCKS, the lyrics do NOT), Garbage's is average. I cannot wait for the DMB, Audioslave, Foo Fighters, and Coldplay CD's.

Ooh, can't forget about White Stripes, Billy Corgan, and Finch. I can't wait. I'm superhyped for DMB, Audioslave and Foo Fighters.

Sorta like my thread over here: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47553

//edit: Can't stand it when I say Ryan Adams and people think I mean Bryan.. if I meant Bryan, I woulda said Bryan, I meant Ryan!

Awesome CD its a shame hs cover of Bitches Aint Shit didnt make it on there.
Reads like a list of "Hey, the 90's wants their music back!"
Well, yeah... has there been a single band who has released a debut CD in the last 5 years that rules? I'm sure there are but I can't think of any...

no. i doubt if we will see it this year. from what i understand they are still working on music. once they get through with that, maynard will get involved and we will have a cd. i'll put my money on late next year; but i'm still hoping for earlier.

9.99 at Circuit City I think... great CD.

That list looks f'n awesome! Already heard the new Beck CD.. not too great, imo. Can't wait for Foo Fighters, Audioslave, Weezer and NIN!

javeryh, where do you get that information? I'm always looking for new tunes and can never find anything. I usually just google "new cd releases" and go from there.

Can't wait for Gorillaz and Coldplay. Any new news on Dre's new cd?! It's been in the works for supposedly a few years now.

Alkaline Trio - Crimson
Fall Out Boy - From Under the Cork Tree

New Alkaline Trio...CANNOT WAIT. The single is amazing, too...'Time to Waste'

oooo...new Finch, you say?

hmmm new Alk3, i'll have to check it out. I loved there stuff on Asian Man but there two albums on Vagrant i haven't been very good imo. There split with HWM was awesome though. I still remember during high school driving up to chicago on the weekend to see their shows.

Yeah...I don't know. Private Eye is quite possibly my favorite song by them, but there's no denying the Asian Man stuff in general is better. The self-titled disc? Amazing. And the HWM split WAS great. The fact that you could catch them in Chicago makes me very envious.

The new single's here:

Yeah that's what stands out to me too... "What it is to Burn" is still one of my favorite albums

outside of that Audioslave and Foo Fighters top my list. That new Coldplay single, "Speed of Sound" is really good as well...

Back in high school i was really big on the whole chicago punk scene. I've seen the broadways, baxter, slapstick, honor system, Alk3, Lawrence Arms. Lawrence Arms were really bad when they first got together but they turned out awesome. Alk3 had a lot of great concerts back then.

Private Eye is a great song and i'm not saying there latest releases have been bad by any means but compared to there previous albums is very weak in my opinion. I agree with you Self Titled is by far and way there best release.

I was totally hyped for the new Weezer CD, but it definately falls flat on its face. They shouldn't be this emo.. i've loved them for years, but man.. and it's all the lyrics, too. The music rocks harder than ever, but the lyrics are god awful. Seriously. On "my best friend", the chorus is "you're my best friend, and i love you, yes i do".. my god. What.. just.. no.

Gorillaz, System of a Down, NIN, and maybe the Limp Bizkit and The White Stripes are my highly-anticipated's.

Oh...

and fuck Alanis Morisette. :)

Don't expect the new Finch album to sound too much like What it is to Burn. When they were in the studio, one of the band members said if they wrote one more song like that, he was going to kill himself.

Scorch I'm gonna check out the new Weezer CD. I don't really like emo music. But I guess I do enjoy Weezer's take on it. Let me ask you a question that'll settle everything. What was your favorite track on the blue album?

I'll be picking up the new Audioslave CD next month. I gotta admit, I didn't love 'Be Yourself' at first, but it's growing on me.

Wow, there are a ton of albums I want that are listed there.

Does anyone know of a good place to download albums? I'd rather purchase the actual CDs, but I know I won't be able to afford many of them for a while, and I'd like to preview those that I am iffy on anyway.

I am super-hyped for the White Stripes and Foo Fighters albums. Especially the Foo Fighters album since I heard the new single "Best of You." It's a beautiful song, and already a favorite.
Well, yeah... has there been a single band who has released a debut CD in the last 5 years that rules? I'm sure there are but I can't think of any...
Velvet Revolver, The Darkness, and Franz Ferdinand come to mind.

Gladly, but since Ryan Reynolds bulked up he might not give her up without a tussle.

I'm not Scorch, but my favorite track was Say it Ain't So.

Looking forward to the Coldplay album. I downloaded the first single from iTunes last night. Never heard Audioslave, but a friend recommended them to me, so maybe I'll try it out.

That's impossible. You cannot pick a favorite track on the blue album. That's one of the best CD's i've ever heard in my life. If I had a gun to my head and had to pick a favorite, though, I'd probably say "Say It Ain't So" or "The World Has Turned And Left Me Here", with "No One Else" followed closely behind.. my least favorite track on the CD has gotta be "Only In Dreams".

Not all of the new CD is bad. I like "We Are All On Drugs" and the music in "Pardon Me". I mean, even the track names look emo. "This Is Such A Pity".. "Hold Me".. "Peace".. "Pardon Me".. "My Best Friend"..

The leaked album 5 was pretty good, it wasn't realy officially an album but more a collection of album 5 demos. "So I apologize to you, and to anyone else that I hurt too, I may not be a perfect soul, but I can learn self control, so Pardon Me, Pardon Me, Pardon Me my friend".. that's the main chorus to "Pardon Me".. I dunno, like I said, I love the music, I love the way the lyrics would sound, I just don't like the lyrics themselves.

I tried to load a song in Goldwave and strip a layer to hopefully remove most of the lyrics to some songs, and they weren't recorded in that style. I could do it with most songs on "With Teeth", some came out nearly perfect instrumentals. I did it with "My Best Friend", and it removed all the vocals but now it sounds like it's on AM radio, and it sounds a lot better without the vocals.

Except in the chorus when backup singers say "Love you".. *shudders*

Eels, Beck, and NIN are the only ones im looking forward too. The new SOAD single sucks, they sold out, and it sounds awful.

EDIT~ Rumor has it the new TOOL cd will be out by christmas this year. Ive been waiting since the day La te ra lus came out for it!
The new SOAD single sucks, they sold out, and it sounds awful.
!
SOAD sold out with their second album.

Dream Theater-Octavarium is really the only one I'm looking forward to.

Dave Matthews Band hasnt released a good studio album since 1997. Their producer on this album has worked with Eminem and Gwen Stefani so I'm not expecting much at all.

The new Audioslave single is horrendous. Sure Morello said the new album is "rockin" but he also said their debut album which was bland and had little variety was going to change the face of rock n'roll.

Gorillaz new album sounds like it has potential.

NIN new album has some high points, but once again Reznor will release a piece of trash and people will deem him a genius.

At the Drive in Anthology can only be all kinds of awesome...

Spoons upcoming CD is decent.

Weezer sucks.

Coldplay is incredibly over-rated.

Slim Cessna's Auto Club has a live CD coming out soon which should be great.

Ryan Adams has a new album coming out, although I wish he was still with Whiskeytown.

Red Hot Chili Peppers and Sigur Ros have new albums coming out, Haven't been dated but I believe it will be around Summer 2005. Looking forward to those.

Vic Chesnutt's "Ghetto Bells" is out but it is nowhere near as good as ANY of his previous works.

The new Tool CD is going to be great. Its obvious Maynard was influenced somewhat with his work with APC on Lateralus and I can't wait for this new release. Although the eMotive album was bland and seemed rushed I can't let that bother me because Tool and APC are separate entities.

Oh yeah Songs: Ohia's new album is out but its under a different moniker--"Magnolia Electric Co." Haven't checked it out since all my record stores around here only carry crap so to get any somewhat obscure artists I either have to order it online or drive 45 minutes to a kick ass Borders....
