The next spending bill thread
To be fair, there are some members, like John McCain and Tom Coburn, who foreswear earmarks. Some Democrats too. Even Obama said he wouldn't put in more earmarks, but that seems to have fallen by the wayside after the campaign. But most of them are to blame, sure. Chuck Schumer in particular, from that video clip and everything I've ever heard him say, is a complete and total ass (who is also beholden to Wall Street, by the way, and a big Geithner supporter - egads).
John McCain might foreswear earmarks. But he sure loves those "tax cuts."
You know the ones that are going to cost us $3.1 trillion? 4 times more than Obama's stimulus plan?

http://wonkroom.thinkprogress.org/2009/02/02/senate-conservatives-plan/

But, yeah...sure...Obama is the one tripling the debt...
So do we get to talk about Pelosi's referenced Stimulus Bill #3 in this thread, or does that get a new one? (next next spending bill) :)
oh itll get its own thread so we can argue all over again. but its all just talk right now, so we can hold off.

nice over a month old article about a plan that was proposed by someone other than mccain.

right my bad. it was hard to tell because he wasnt mentioned once in the video or in the article so ya know. maybe if i had gone back and read every single article written in the last month and a half i would have found something. sorry for not agreeing with you based on your statement with nothing supporting it. ill trust take you at your word from now on.

1. Dude, you just linked me to thinkprogress.org. If I want to read bullshit, I'll visit one of level1's threads.

2. Who cares anyway, since Democrats are in the majority and it's their plans we are going to have to deal with? And yes, Obama is one of those who is helping to create massive deficits and huge amounts of new debt burden for our nearly-bankrupt country.

For the record, I don't support the Republican plan you linked to either...surely you don't expect that I either support one or the other? Republicans were at minimum a large part of creating the problems we have currently.

What's another trillion among friends?

I apologize for not reading this thread completely - I tend to skim. So... I apologize for interrupting this discussion. I also apologize for posting something that might have already been posted, though I doubt it, 'cause I'm pretty sure His Kevermin would have been gloating about it all over the place if it was common knowledge. I would also like to apologize for gloating about this all over the place.

Ron Paul. fuck him. Download it. Choose "by Rep." Check out our number ten. Or just take my word for it: $15,000,000 in solo earmarks (making him 19th on the list), $75,000,000 in earmarks with others (10th), and $97,000,000 with others and the president (dropping him to a lowly 37th out of 452).

So, yeah. Like I said, not giving this the attention it deserves. Not sure if people know this already. Not sure if people care. Just felt like taking a whack at a golden calf is all.

...

*hopes there's not another representative named "Paul"*
Ron Paul rules.

Also, I'm stunningly hammered.

Film at 11.
Look at the discussion yourself.
Thank god the democrats are in majority or this would have passed. Costing us 4 times more than Obamas bill at $3.1 trillion.

And, Ramstoria, if you have no idea who supported what and when, maybe you shouldn't be so eager to "knowingly" reply, eh?
