Saw King Kong...wow.

Went to the new Target where the old Hills used to be, and it's pretty big compared to other Targets that I've been to. I went to get WWE SvR 2006 for $34, which they didn't have. So I went to BB at their new, smaller location farther away from CC (I guess they got scared or something) looking for that and DQVIII for $35. They had Smackdown, but no DQVIII. I'll probably go to CC tomorrow to see if they have DQVIII and PM there.

I also picked up the Mission Hill Complete Series DVD at BB, finally. Can't wait to watch that when I get the time. I think I'll check out my Sin City recut DVD and play some Smackdown afterwards.

I've been watching TV all day because I've been feeling like shit. TV sucks balls if its not sports or like sunday night or adult swim (non anime stuff). Now thanks to VH1 if anyone has a question about the 80's just post it. :wall:

And you're a better man for it. :D

Now I'm stopped in the middle of Nova Prospekt on HL2... With a shotgun that has better firepower than the rocket launcher. :D

I seem to notice a bunch of us are getting sick.. I've had flu-ish symptoms for a while, but I think it's just a long, nasty cold.

If nothing else, it should at least be beating Narnia soundly. Shame that it can't even manage that much.

I get the feeling that the combination of length and of most everyone knowing the ending is cutting into the movie's popularity. Their loss, though - it was worth every penny to see it in a theater.

Personally, I prefered Narnia. King Kong was alright but the first hour of nothing happening really lost my attention. Narnia almost fell into the same problem but then it began to pick up. My other issue with Kong is that it tried to be too many things like a monster movie, love story, and/or drama. Sure you can have a love story and a drama but the monster movie aspect really clashes with the other two and ends up leaving me feeling like it didn't really accomplish either.

Another reason Narnia is staying so close to Kong is because of the time of the year. All the kids are off school so their parents are taking them to a more kid-friendly movie.

actually, Narnias doing so well because of the christian crowed. Sell outs of theaters STILL for different church groups.

Narnia was good, dont get me wrong...but it was LOTR lite. Less characters, less story, less violence and less time (both length of movie and character build up). Good for all ages.

Kong, IMO, actually did pull off all the aspects of cinema in the right ways...and i wasnt bored during that first hour. I enjoyed seeing the city, seeing how a town known for its exuberance would in turn be the town for "The 8th Wonder of the World" to romp around in. Yes there are lingering shots of the city, the views and even the ape...which i cant understand why people would complain. You just spent $6-11 to see a film, why have it be cut for the sake of the lowest common denominator. The length felt right.

As for the comment about people not seeing it due to the ending being known: TITANIC

I am waiting for it to come out on DVD. I saw LoTR: Return of the King and had to piss throughout the whole second half of the movie and did not want to get up to miss anything.

The big screen and the sound make a HUGE difference though...even compared to a good home theater.

Definitely. Kong is one of those movies that deserves your money to go see on a huge screen with awesome sound. I personally found it amazing and I imagine that the feeling of how great it was might diminish a small bit when it has to be watched on a TV with surround sound, cause it just can't compare to the theater. All I can say is don't get a drink when you go to see it, and piss before you go in, cause it NEEDS to be seen on the big screen.
Ugh. EB just sold me a used copy of SMT:DDS2 as new. I hate those bastards.
I made sure th eone I got was sealed.

In other news, I finally unlocked one of the boards in Metroid Pinball.

Wow...I'm definitely ordering all of my imports through NCSX from now on. I ordered Bleach GC on Christmas, and it arrived today. Time to see what this is like.

fuck. One of the copies of ffxi i put on ebay which had an open seal, but everything inside new, apparently had the #'s copied from the inside so the buyer cant use them. Anyone have any advice? I can still get another copy of the game for him, but it still sucks

Anyone one know where I can find some interesting cursors/icons (like a place where I can browse over a bunch of them)? My friend has some really neat-looking stuff, and I'm growing tired of the default pointer.

I saw Kong in theatres and loved it as well, but I had to pee in the middle. I think I chose a good time, though. Right after the T-Rex fight. I was back in time to see the weird bug things in the crevice.

Gamestop sold me a scratched to hell copy of psychonauts they said was new. I promptly returned it, drove down the street to media play, and bought a big stack of RPGS for 40% off. SMT: DDS2 was only $30. :)
I can't believe they still sell big box pc games. I got tribes from gogamer.com and was shocked to see it came in a big box.
Vengeance? I'd be shocked too if that was the case. I haven't seen a big box game outside of the clearance rack for a long time. Personally, I miss those irregular shaped pc game boxes. There's nothing quite like having your game come in a cardboard trapezoid

How much was the shipping?
How much was the shipping?
$7.62, which was the cheapest, but that's how it's gonna end up basically anywhere you're getting an import game from.

I see.

When I imported some stuff from Yes Asia, they had a free shipping option, but it took two weeks to get here (to their credit, both items were out of stock).

Well I tried TRU again but they only had about 15 games. I don't understand why the only TRU in a 50 mile radius doesn't keep any stock, even new games.

I didn't like that movie.

And the people who do their sub-par imitations over and over, and think it's hilarious, get old really fast.

However, I do enjoy hockey.

If it is Garnett he is unbeliveable lately. He is a rookie drafted in 01. If it is Lehtonen he is also a rookie drafted in 02 but has been out with a groin injury since the first game of the season.

god i love americas funniest home videos. they just had a montage of cherrleaders getting taken out by either being tossed up and not being caught or having football players go out of bounds and knock them on thier asses.

im so easily amused...

Basically you're just saying you like seeing people get hurt

Yeah well Garnett had his growing pains already, with some blowout losses. But for a goalie who started as an AHL backup, that's not too bad.

If you're a Dane Cook fan, he's got a Su-Fi finger cursor on his site. It's a good link cursor.

Oh god. The other night I was watching the new AFV. Well, not a new episdoe, but the new(est) series.

So, they had this 'vs.' segment. It was a montage of a bunch of old people losing their denchers (including while skydiving, while snoring, and while blowing out candles), and something else that I forgot.

Well, the people losing their denchers had me laughing so hard. It was great... I enjoy that show quite a bit.

Yeah he got all the kinks out and is on a roll now though. Two straight shut outs is pretty impressive I don't care who you are.

South Park taught me about how stupid that show is. I can't stand to watch it anymore.
Basically you're just saying you like seeing people get hurt
Yes.
Thats why i watch shows like Jackass, Viva La Bam and MXC. Yeah, i think
most of the people are idiots...but shooting somebody in the crotchal region (while wearing a cup) with a paintball gun is just hilarious.

BTW, used to be big into BMX/Trail riding and i literally laugh at pain now. I'm weird like that

One thing that always makes me laugh is that they gave one of Bam's budies a new show. it's a prank room makeover show. Whenever he meets someone new who recognizes him, the first thing they ask is, "You're not gonna kick me in the nuts, are you?"

Now imagine having that as a reputation. Whenever you walk up to strangers they have a quivering fear as they ask, "I'm not gonna be kicked in the nuts?"

Really? Who? Ryan Dunn?

So who's got the next OTT?
Really? Who? Ryan Dunn?
It's the guy with the beard.

I think Spotted Nigel should make it the schadenfreude OTT. I'm sure he could find a worthy example of schadenfreude to start it off.
