The Office - Season 3 - Discussion [possible spoilers]

Did anyone else think that Michael was acting kind of unrealistic even for his character?
Other then that I really enjoyed the episode, especially the "Do you Phyllis, take Bob Vance of Vance Refridgeration" line. Jim getting Dwight to look for wedding crashers was also pretty funny.

Decent episode, though I think maybe Michael was bit much for me in this episode.
Toby got a chick! GO TOBY!
Yeah, go Toby! I'm glad he got somebody. He looked cute when his date caught the bouquet. I liked Ryan blocking the bouquet also.

I don't like Creed, but I was amused at his card switching.

TOBY! YEA!

For some reason, I thought Pam's "OR PAM AND ROY!" comment was hilarious.

I did think Micheal was a little overboard this episode. And that Dwight was a little scaled back.

Still, great episode. I wuv dis show.

Dwight Schrute=Pavlov's Dog=

Great episode though I can agree with others that Mike was overboard even for him. Scrantonicity FTW!!!!1!!

For a group project in school the group wanted to do a skit bassed on the office so after youtubing a few clips and watching last nights episode I'm hooked on this show. Stayed up late last night watching the whole first season via youtube and other such sites. Good stuff.

This was the highlight of the episode for me, after not seeing Creed in like 110 episodes straight.

How can you not love this description?

MICHAEL GOES TO BUSINESS SCHOOL WITH RYAN - Ryan (B.J. Novak) invites Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) to be a guest speaker at his business school. Meanwhile, Dwight battles a bat that gets loose in the office while Pam (Jenna Fischer) invites co-workers to her first art show. Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Melora Hardin, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nunez, Phyllis Smith, Paul Lieberstein, and Mindy Kaling also star.

Cannot wait.

Thank God it's not another office party episode. This is the only 1/2 hour of TV I actually look forward to during the week.

It's nice to see that Pam is doing some stuff with art, since that was a major part of the Christmas episodes in the British series.

Incredible episode. Absolutely brimming with humor and emotion.

Jim's vampire trick was flawless. As was Micheal's candy bar throwing and Dwight's bat hunting.

And then the last 7-8 minutes were very touching, especially the whole scene with Micheal and Pam at the art show.

Micheal doesn't know it, but he had some great inspirational lines when he was "demoting" Ryan to the back of the office. "People will never be put out of business," or whatever it was. That's actually really profound line.

Anyway, best episode in a while. Others are good but this one was excellent.

Awesome episode, including Pam reaffirming my discussion with a female coworker today (about The Office) that girls are stupid. Roy being an ass while forcing being sweet and Pam glossing over it.

"There is poop falling from the sky. Poop!"

This episode was so, so, so great. Roy still being a jerk makes me happy as a Jim/Pam fan, although I like that he's at least trying to be a different person, he just can't change - not even for Pam. The Pam and Michael stuff was touching, too.

“I’m the cool teacher, like Mr. Handel. He once hooked up with a student… and then 12 others came forward. Really ruined 8th grade for us.”
“Before I do something, I ask “What an idiot do that?”, and if they do, I don’t do that thing”.
“There it goes!”.
“…goodbye”
“Poop is raining from the ceiling. Poop!”
“I know the bat bit me… but there’s no mark… and yet I feel so powerful! Oh well.”
“You cannot learn from a book. Replace these pages with life lessons.”
“It would make sense for a vampire bat to go to a ‘vania, like Pennsylvania. I’m not saying that Jim is a vampire, just that he caries the vampiric gene.”
“It’s important to support local art, and what they do isn’t art.”
“You’ll have more money to buy PlayStations and Beanie Babies!”.
“Real business is done on paper, write that down” (students start typing on their laptops)
“Do you have the tools to turn a broom handle into a stake? What size?”
“Animals can’t feel pain.”.
“KILL IT! KILL IT!.”
“He doesn’t know anything and neither do you, so SUCK ON THAT!”
“Goodnight Marybeth!”

This episode was one of the best in a while. All of the storylines were great, and they pretty much all had funny moments.
It was really nice of Michael to show up to Pam's art show. I'm really surprised Jim didn't stop by.

I really, really want a gif file of Dwight standing up and Jim being RIGHT THERE with that dazed, faraway look in his eye.

Whoever makes it could even add unneeded words like OMFG or something, like everyone seems to like to do.

"Ryan hasn't made a sale yet, he started a fire heating up a cheesy pocket in the microwave and everyone thinks he is a tease."

Awesome episode. This show delivers every single week.

I personally loved Creed and his alliance with Dwight. How he wouldn't even let Dwight finish and just was like "Okay!" And Micheal busting Ryan down in front of the class. And Jim's vampire prank on Dwight. Probably one of my favorite episodes this season, definitely enhanced by Joss' directing.

Agreed. You had some of the funniest physical humor of the season with Dwight beating Marybeth around the head and neck and one of the most genuinely affecting moments with Michael completely coming through for Pam. *I* wanted to hug the guy. And I'm glad it was Michael and not Jim. It felt more honest that way. It's moments like that (as well as Michael's heartfelt contradiction of Ryan's worldview when they got back to the office) that almost explain why Jim and Pam and everyone else put up with Michael's idiocy the other 95% of the time.

I also loved Stanley's hasty departure when the bat appeared.

great episode...besides most of the points already brought up, I loved jim making fun of the names jam, ram etc...when he was talking about pam and roy being back together

Her name is actually "Merideth" - Creed doesn't know the names of all the people in the office so that's why he referred to her as Marybeth. Too funny. :D

rewatching it today, i had already forgotten about michael comparing himself to his pedophile middle school teacher. also i found myself wondering where andy was. i also noticed that dwight is at the desk where andy was sitting before. so michael moving ryan to the back with kelly opens up the perfect desk for andy to be seated.

"That's Angela, shes kind of the bitch of the office. Don't worry you'll get used to her." *Eats leftover cereal* "Oh BTW I'm Creed" then shakes her hand. What a crazy mung bean eating old timer.

Does this episode strike another unexplained absence from Andy? I'm thinking episodes were filmed not in order, cause I thought someone said he was recently signed on as a permanent cast member? If/when he's back the opening scene will no doubt have him say something along the lines of time off for anger management.

Oh crap I just remembered before I hit enter. Ryan was moved to the back...to make a place for Andy OR to put Jim back in Pam's line of sight?

No, as a punishment of sorts. Now he's next to his girlfriend, and I'm guessing Micheal is a bit more savvy that we give him credit for, because he knows Ryan is going to be driven nuts by that proximity.

I guess one of the other things could be applicable as well but the primary reason is the above.

Andy is in Anger Managment after punching the wall. It was a deleted scene on the website.

why on earth was that deleted, ive been wondering where hes been. great, now i have to watch the delted scenes every week.

Good episode. Other than the other quotes already stated...

"I once shot a werewolf. When I got there, though, it had already turned into my neighbor's dog."

Finally saw this week's episode. Very funny :) Even though Michael was pretty annoying again, I think Ryan got what he deserved and Michael's scene at the end with Pam was really nice. He seemed so sincere. I loved how he actually had something in his pocket.
"your art was the prettiest art of all the art"
Definitely my favorite line of the episode!

I watched it again last night - it's probably the best episode of the season, IMO. The Jim/Karen vampire prank was unbelievably funny - just the little non-verbal gags were great like Jim putting up his collar and looking over his shoulder, the way he was staring at Dwight's neck and when he was sitting at his desk playing with his eye teeth. We're only about 40 episodes in to the series and I can already say it is the funniest show of all time without hesitation.

I missed a few minutes due to a power outage, but goddamn was that an awesome episode. Despite that, I'd still call this a series classic given how much major stuff happened. I cannot wait to see where the Jim-Pam-Karen-Roy storyline goes next week.

Michael - Can Michael the Magic escape from extreme bondage!?
Jim - Why don’t I want to go? Well, I don’t know these people, it’s a requirement, I don’t like talking paper in my personal life (or work life), and did I mention that it’s pointless?
Jan - What’s the upside? Well, the nausean and self-loathing will be gone and I could fall deeply in love. On the downside, I’ll be dating Michael Scott publicly and could collapse into myself like a dying star.
Why is it so hard? That’s what she said… oh God.
Creed - I run a small fake ID company out of the trunk of my car with an ID maker I swiped from the sheriff’s department.
Dwight - Oh good, you’re up. Who made this chair?
Roy - You use the Jetski money?
Kenny - Yup.
Roy - I’m going to kill Jim Halpert.

i knew roy was an ass, but man i wasnt expecting that. and why do i believe him when he says hes going to kill jim.

other than that, i was really hoping for more out of michael at the party, but dwight made up for it when he was sitting in the rocking chair while the kid slept.
