The Office - Season 3 - Discussion [possible spoilers]

Some of the funniest moments in the episode this time around were not like the usual focusing on something to make it funny but actually subtle.

Near the end of the episode where Roy starts to trash the bar after Pam's secret slip, I noticed that Kenny (Roy's brother) just fucking jumps in and starts throwing shit around for NO REASON. It was totally hilarious how he just did it out of nowhere.

Also, when Michael started talking about he scammed the lady by getting supermarket potato salad and how to make it, then instantly diverges over to how Jan is upset. I busted a gut there too.

Finally, when it would pan back over to Toby and how much time he spent time and money he spent trying to win that stupid plushy duck, showing he obviously sucked at those games.

Some other funny moments:

-Dwight appearing in the kid's room and the hilarious conversation that pursued

-Kevin totally blowing it in the quarter game they played

-Dwight's magical appearance in the back of Mikey's car

-Dwight's feces remark

-Dwight on the roof

-Dwight evaluating the walls and house

So yeah, Dwight had a good episode. Jim? Interestingly not so much... he pretty much had only one or two lines that were worthy of being comedic, which I find weird because usually the episodes are packed with them.
Ahhh, dwight! Good episode.

"so you're awake."

Jan is fucking hot.
Jan is pretty hot. DEFINITELY NOT someone you'd want a relationship with, though.

Ugh, all these episodes with Michael in public situations is getting to be a bit much for me. I kinda miss his office antics. Tonight's episode was alright. I knew Roy was a jerk, but didn't expect him to go all out psycho. I'm glad the Pam/Roy back together thing didn't last too long.

I'm glad Dwight had decent airtime. I loved it when he was in that sleeping kid's room and in the back of Michael's car.

Yes, Michael's ability to make himself an ass in public situations has been shown quite a bit lately.

I'd also prefer to at least move the next episodes back to the office primarily.

Toby and the duck = gold. I did that in high school once, at the bowling alley. He had that hot chick..what 2 episodes ago? What happened Toby?
It looks like the next episode won't air for six more weeks! Ugh. At least we got one Hell of a cliffhanger though.
well they had to break up so that at the season finally they can make jim choose between karen and pam and leave us hanging for 3 months

That freak-out scene and subsequent proclamation of Roy's future showdown with Jim was probably the most serious moment of the entire series. Not at all amusing like the rest of the show. I was a little shocked by the whole event.

I did laugh, however, when Roy's brother came up to the bar from out of nowhere and just started smashing shit. Did he even know what Roy was pissed about?

I think I would freak out too if that happened to me. Though... not destroy a bar.
That episode was absolutely fantastic for comedy going in the background.
Dwight climbing the banister and checking the chimney was pretty funny.

Funniest moment for me was Michael gagging on the single malt scotch. "Can I get some ice?! Or how bout some Splenda!"

One of the best episodes this season, which is saying quite a bit, since there have been quite a few good ones.

great episode...i really like the micheal and jan relationship..i crack up whenever they are interacting...espically in the car ride home when micheal started to cry

are a week behind? or did you mean to say jan?

A little late hopping in the discussion.. a good episode for Dwight and getting to know Roy's brother, but the line I enjoyed the most was Jan's "Why is it so hard? That’s what she said."

Anyone else wish the episode that aired yesterday was an extended 40 minute episode? It seems like they could have done so much more with both the bar scenes and the party.

I wish they would have concentrated more on the party. The bar scenes were funny but you could of predicted how roy would blow it with pam just by the way he was acting. Dwight of course was always hilarious especially when he was inspecting the chimney and waking the kid up.
http://gorillamask.net/snlrainn.shtml

So Rainn Wilson hosted SNL this weekend. I wonder if it was any good, I usually don't like when actors parody their own stuff on SNL but this was great.
Thanks for the link. I was planning on watching the opening scene with Rainn, but the power was out at my house on Saturday night.

Did Andy just disappear from the show? Really shitty on the writer's part to just have him "disappear" after his freak out... have they even explained where he went? It's like he was never on the show to begin with.
Andy is in Anger Managment after punching the wall. It was a deleted scene on the website.
I'm not really sure why they edited out such an important detail.

They mentioned Andy going to anger management on the show in this past week's episode, but it is odd that they wouldn't show something so big in a regular episode.

Thanks... that does seem like a really weird thing to omit.

Yeah Rainn was pretty funny. SNL has gone downhilll a lot lately but this one was pretty good. i especially liked the bit about Anna Nichole Smith

Greg Daniels (the EP) said that they usually give them the 30 second stinger at the end of the episode, but that week he was told that they had to run another ad during that stinger time, so he had to cut it out of the episode quickly.

Either way, Daniels also says that everything on the Deleted Scenes is canon (as if it were shown, it's real), and sees no reason why the canon should be limited to what they have time to air.

I wish the search brought this thread up.

I don't know exactly what they're airing, but there's an hour-long episode on tomorrow at 8. They flashed to Andy and mentioned never-before-seen scenes, so I'm guessing they'll probably tell us what happened to him.

I have a feeling these will be reruns, but with deleted scenes added in alongside them to account for a full hour.

That's just my guess though.
I have a feeling these will be reruns, but with deleted scenes added in alongside them to account for a full hour.

Traveling Salesmen; The Return

Michael urges his desk jockeys to pair up for sales calls; Oscar returns from vacation pondering his corporate future; Angela misses a crucial deadline and Dwight tries to cover for her; Jim colludes with Pam and Karen to trick someone in the office, and it's not Dwight, for once.
So Andy going to anger management should be included.

I think it's cool how NBC is going to be showing an extended episode of the Office, especially since I usually forget to watch the deleted scenes.

Also, the other day I was on my Mii channel and I saw a Dwight Mii a friend sent me talking to the Jesus Mii I made. I just started laughing as I wondered what short of things Dwight would say to Jesus.

Man, have to resort to the Google search to find this shit.

For some reason I can't recall the half of the sexual harassment episode that aired at 9, but hilarious. But not as great as the teaser of Roy going after Jim next week.

Damn, I missed the teaser, but dug the little added bits with Toby that I saw. Next week's episode being an extended one makes me even more excited to see it.
watching now, episode about the medical coverage getting taken away. I am dying right now.
Was it the "Healthcare" episode from Season 1? That was great. Season 1 was so underrated - I remember thinking that they better not cancel this show when I was watching it.
________________________

Dwight: Count Choculitis.
Jim: Sounds Tough.
Dwight: Why did you write that down, Jim? Is it because you know I love Count Chocula?
________________________

Dwight: Through simple concentration I can both raise and lower my cholesterol.
Pam: Why would you raise your cholesterol?
Dwight: So I can lower it.
________________________

Dwight: Okay, first, let's go over some parameters. How many people can I fire?
Michael: Uh, none: you're picking a healthcare plan.
Dwight:Okay we'll table that for now...
________________________

Michael: The most sacred thing I do is care... Today I am in charge of picking a great new healthcare plan. Right? That's what this is all about. Does that make me their doctor? Um, yes. Like a specialist

I love this show.

Yahoo, for about an hour, had a massive spoiler clip about what happens with "the fight"

Huge Spoiler Below
Right where the preview clip ends, with Roy right next to Jim, suddenly a spray of liquid slams Roy in the face. Cut to: Dwight spraying Pepper Spray in his face and everyone in the office cough and choking.

Jenna Fischer (Pam) sort of nude on this month's cover of Wired:

There's some feeling that this was just a computer altered version of the other photo used of her clothed. Anyway, more pics at:
