I haven't watched the first episode yet but I will over the weekend. I really hope they inject some creativity and realism back into this series. Also, more of this please:

I don't like that they changed the opening credits, but I guess it's not that big of a deal. Loved the episode overall. The
Gabe/Erin thing surprised me.

I'm really pissed/sad that this is Carell's last season. I wish they would just end the series if he left. I hope they offer him a shitload of money and he sticks around.

Rumors say they've been trying to talk to Ricky Gervais about at least making an appearance before Carrell is gone, though it would be insane if he replaced him. Rumors have also popped up that Tim Allen is in talks with the producers. Its tool time!

Am I the only one a little tired of large the cast is? And no one ever gets fired or quits after a few years, unlike any real-world office or department I've worked in. Note that Jim, Ryan, Toby, and Holly kept coming back somehow.

As for Michael's replacement, I'm hoping for an internal promotion for Jim who totally deserves it. Which usually means it won't happen. Adding a big-name star to replace Carrel makes the most sense.

Wow this thread went nowhere... just like the show! Hahaha - actually Season 6 was god awful but there have been a few great episodes this season. Anyway, Ricky Gervais is going to be in the Season 7 finale and interviewing for Michael Scott's job. There is also a report from "a U.K. newspaper" (great source) that David Brent will be replacing Michael Scott - this would be ridiculously awesome if true but I highly highly doubt it.

I couldnt watch the show if Gervais takes over. I heard a rumor that Will Arnett might be casted as a new character, i would pick him any day over Gervais.

So last night's episode was actually pretty good. Aside form all of the Michael/Holly stuff (which was kind of sweet) we had a pretty funny subplot involving magic beans which didn't really have a payoff until the very very end when Jim came around the corner with the full grown plants. Also, Andy and Daryl are great together. I think it's been a pretty good season.

I loved yest. Episode. Sad to see Michael Scott get killed off but Will Farrel isn't a bad choice. Better than Ricky Jervais :/ Don't get me started on will arnett I can't stand that guy. The constipated voice isn't even the worst part.

Oh god, what was the logic there?

"Ferrel...Carrell...they sounds so awfully similar, FUND IT."

I've moved on to Parks and Recreation. I still watch the Office but the glory days are long gone.

IMO this has been the best season since four. There have been a ton of great episodes and it actually has kept me a lot more entertained than it has in the past. Plus this season has had way more Kevin.

I don't understand all the Will Ferrell hate. He may not be everyone's cup of tea, but to think that he couldn't come in for a few episodes and have an entertaining bit for the transition is ridiculous. He just killed it on Eastbound.

I also don't understand the hate on Gervais. Anyone shitting on him needs to get their fucking head checked. If they are shitting on him there is no way they watched the british office. David Brent is a much better character than Micheal Scott could ever hope of being. I fast forward through Micheal Scott and his dumb actions from time to time and I couldn't ever do that to David Brent.

Fun episode as usual, and I cried, well almost cried, at that proposal.

I'm okay with Will Ferrell episodes for a little bit, but my gut feeling is that the Office can do fine without Steve Carrell, and that Pam will become the regional manager, and nobody's going to stop her.
