Sure thing. For references sake, would say this game is easier or harder than Metal Slug 3?

now knowing that it's 2-players is gonna make me pick it up next pay check.

Played it for the first time tonight, first thing that really made me appreciate the detail and thought put in was the stage 2-1 boss, the Soviet robot using a hand scythe and an anvil to attack with.

Hmmm...I've never played Metal Slug 3 outside of the demo, so I really can't say. Anyone else care to answer this?

I have the GC version. I haven't played too far into the game, but so far, so good.

On another note, both versions are easy to find around here. I'm going to take a guess that in the future, the GC version will be more uncommon than the PS2 version, but neither will be too hard to find.
I paid $29.99 for this game in December at EB for my kids Christmas. I also have not seen the GC version since. I've seen the PS2 version occasionally, but also not everywhere. I think this game, for both platforms, was a limited run. I would recommend you pick it up when you see it to be sure you get a copy. The game really is unique and very well done.

As for multiplayer, my kids are tearing it up and having a blast with it. For as much mayhem that is going on in the game, you'd think there would be some slowdown. Not a frame lost. Great game. They also love the mini-games that are unlocked as you complete levels. Get this game.
I've had this game on my mind for a while now, but after reading about it and discussing it in this thread last night, I decided I had to go pick it up today. It took me four stops to find it (Target, a different CC than I had checked before, and 2 EBs) but I finally found a copy. And this is the PS2 version I've been trying to hunt down. I never did see it for GC at any of the stores I checked.

I wish I had time today to try it out, but I have to get some sleep (I work an overnight shift) so it will have to wait until tomorrow morning. :(

Hey, new av! :)

This game is one of the main reasons i want to mod my GC to have the PS1 screen attached. The game is just so easy to pick up and play its funny.
On a related note, what's everyone's favorite headgear? I'm partial to the viking helmet myself.
I like the goggles, and of course, the baseball cap...
I just got a sealed copy from Half.com for 27.50 for gamecube. That's a pretty good deal isnt it?
2.50 below MSRP for a great game. Sounds good to me.

Holy. Crap. I played through 1-3. Man, this is like the game that I wish Metal Slug was every time I play Metal Slug. Don't get me wrong, I love me some MS, but this is MS on crack and laughing gas. Behemoth certainly knows what the gamer who actually owned an NES wants. Here's to hoping AH made them ebough money to keep the love flowing.
No, along with the PDA games, there is a russian missle game...loose, you get PWNED
lol, so frustrating that the enemies are the same color as the clouds.

Super Fantastic Game. Have yet to complete it, but it is really fun.

What about the freeway level, that is one of the coolest levels in a 2d shooter I have played in a while. I love the fact that you can jump in and out of the cars.
I heard there is a Xbox verison coming out soon....is that true?
Sometime in May for Europe, apparently. No word on a North American Xbox release.
That is a shame. I heard alot of good things about this game and wanted to pick it up (since the Xbox is my only gaming console I am fucked)

This has been on my list for quite awhile, but I've been holding off because I have a little too much on my plate to buy it at MSRP.

What's the status on this game's availability? Can it still be found new in most places (GCN specifically)?

Depends on location. I see them sparingly throughout S.E. MI. Also, the game is much better controlled with a Hori import pad.
