The Official Black Friday Experience Topic (What You Saw, Did, Bought, Etc.)

got off of work @ 230 in the afternoon, went home let the dog out..booked out to Wal Mart to buy a friggin' christmas tree ($70)..the place was like a flea market..crap was everywhere just like the tons of people..went over to the mall, which was even worse..took me 15 minutes to find parking..hit the entrance and saw a sea of people..made my way to the polo store and bought my nephew some shirts..9.99 a piece..regularly 30.00 bucks..not bad..got him three of 'em..then i said forget this and went home..i did manage to get my gta double pack though for $20 while i was at work..gonna do all again today when i get off...here i come..not as black friday, but kinda black maybe grey even, saturday..

Let's see....

I stayed up late on Thurs because it was my birthday, and i slept in late on Friday while all you dingleberries were out fighting crowds.
The wife made me french toast and coffee, and i decided to leave the house around noon to spend a TRU giftcard i got for my birthday (along with 30 in credit i've accumulated from the B2G1 sale). TRU wasn't all that crazy at that point, and their selection was still good - even had some DS systems left.

The BB across the street was entirely different. It looked like it had been sacked by a gaggle of vikings, and shit was everywhere. But they even still had some DS systems, and i picked up a $15 Halo and $10 Max Payne 2 for a friend.

I'm lazy!!

well, on thursday night i partied and drank with my friends from back home until about 4 am, drove past best buy and saw people lining up already, we drove into the parking lot and honked the horn and mooned them. got home and slept til 4. went to the mall and bought some shirts and jeans from anchor blue pretty cheap. ate some panda express orange chicken. went back to sleep until and 10, and went out again at night.

I went ahead and bought The Sims Deluxe for $5... it may lack some of the things the sequel has but it has eternal Sims, which i prefer.

I havent read through all the pages of this thread but I think I will be the pitiful story.
Drove home from a friend's house at 1130. When I passed the Best Buy there were already people lining up. So I jetted on home, got a portable chair, 3 layers of clothing, my DS to play and headed to Best Buy to wait in line. Got there at 1215, counted and I was 15th in line. The 6 hours went by pretty fast because the dudes in front of us had a notebook and we watched Southpark for a few hours. The guys behind me brought thier futon mattress and thier Monopoly, so I played monopoly and got spanked. I think they cheated because my money blew away and I don't think they gave me all of my money back. At 5 they started handing out ticket vouchers. Got the 500 notebook voucher and waited for the craziness to ensue. They opened at 6 and headed to home theatre to pick up a Kiplich 10" subwoofer that was 20% off. Then got in line for the notebook. They guys and gals in line were cool and we waited for the super slow line to move. Waited in line for 3 hours before I got checked out. People that were waiting in line got fed up and left thier notebook and 200 desktop computer vouchers with us. If I had more money I would have bought that in a heartbeat to sell to you CAGS ( @ cost of course ;) ). While waiting in line we took turns going on runs through the store. Picked up Alladin and 24 S1, 256 USB drive and a 256 Memory Stick (for the PSP) and a few Phenoix XBL controllers. When I checked out they were cool about accepting all my reward coupons, Mcdonalds coupons, GGC and Gamepro mag coupons. They actually took 40% off the subwoofer (only 260 from 400 :) ). About 10 went to the mall to go to EB and GS's B2G1F special. Racked in some cheap games at EB and GSfor GameRush once it opens. They were pretty happy when I came up to them with all those older sports games and crappy RPG games. Their elation was turned into irritation when I asked to see the condition of those games. They gave me some crap about of if it doesn't work you can bring it back. I said thats nice, let me see the disk. Ended up putting back a quarter of the games because it looked like it came back from a third world country. Last stop was to FYE to trade in some credit. Around noon I went to crash in the back of my friend's video game store and just hung out there for the rest of the day. Poor til next payday though.

I got my best deals at Target. They started substituting for the season DVD packs that were sold out at SOME of the Targets I went to. I didn't get Buffy Season 6 for 17.77 (sub for 7) because it was sold out as well. I didn't get Ren & Stimpy (sub for Family Guy) for ***$13.33*** because, duh, it was sold out.

But I got all the actual sale sets along with South Park Season 3 for 23.88 and Season 4 for 17.77.

And I got Lion King II 2 Disc Special Edition for 12.88 which was a sub for Mulan.

It all depended who had what, and the customer service was different at each one, but I think I did ok.

The best deal I found wasn't even a deal. After grabbing Spider-man 2 (GC) for $20 at EBGames, I walked into Disc Replay and scored Resident Evil 3 : Nemesis for Gamecube at $18.99. Mint with manual. Now all I need to do is find a copy of Resident Evil 2 (GC) under $50 and I'll have them all!

Christ..I got some crazy deals over the last couple of days.

Software etc.:

Traded in black gameboy advance sp, and metroid:zero mission since i had the ds..Got bloody $50 trade in..Dont know how.

Used the credit on a used psone with one controller and the lcd screen for $50! Oo This was by far the best deal EVER. They were selling the screen seperately for $80 by itself.

Ebgames:
Traded in one of my GC systems and 7 games, got $120 credit ...a bit strange too

Cashed in:
Armed and Dangerous: $3
Starcraft Battle Chest: $5
Vampire: The Masquerade: $2
Warcraft 3 Collectors Ed.: $6
UT2k4: $6
Shining Force GBA: $30
KIngdom Hearts: Chain of Memories Pre-Order: $35
Final Fantasy 1& 2: $30

No tax thanks to the trade in, used an edge card as well.

That was awesome.

Speaking of Black Friday experiences, here is an important bit of info that anyone who got a COMPUSA PNY 6800 card needs to read:

Unfortunately it seems many of the $199 PNY 6800nu cards that COMPUSA had on sale may have come broken in the box due to rough handling and/or manufacturing defect.

Some are missing the capacitor circled in this picture:
http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1026918347&postcount=36

So if you took advantage of this deal, check the backside of your card to make sure it has the circled cap. If it doesn't, exchange it for a new card.
