I also bought my DS mainly for this game. I'm a huge sucker for these RPG styled Castlevania games. This one looks absolutely amazing too. EGM gave it game of the month and gave it all 9+'s. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I probably won't pick it up until Friday though.
I just picked up a used copy of AoS this weekend ($30) and am REALLY diggin the game, it's very SotN-esq. Wish I had the manual but I'm steadily learning my way around.
I'll definately be picking up DoS at a later date, just trying to get my GBA/DS fix in for now.
that game is beyond awful. i paid full price for it when it came out and gave it to my brother the next day. terrible, just terrible.
actually, it's a decent game if you give it a chance. it's 57 times better than that PS2 castlevania. even is better than that stinker!
Just got my game too. I work at Circuit City and its in the west coast incase you were wondering.
Awesome game! I was suppose to stock the shelf but I'm in the back playing it! Trying to get every soul from every enemy I encounter before I moved on.
Ugh...I wish there would be a confirmation whether or not DS games are included in the ToysRUs sale. If I don't have to wait a few weeks, I'd like to know so I can pick this masterpiece up tomorrow.
for those of you who work at Circuit City, can you check the computers for current stock on items?
I ask this because I went in tonight after work (we didn't get in either Castlevania or Trauma Center ) and I asked the guy if he had either in. He couldn't find the release book, and looked around for it for about 5 seconds. Then I asked if he could check the computer to see if they possibly got any copies in, and he said they "couldn't check stock with the computers" and walked away. I didn't want to make a fuss so I just left. Would it be possible for an employee to check if they got in copies of Castlevania or Trauma Center through the computer?
I believe they can check stock, when I worked there the computers told the amount supposedly in stock but were sometimes wrong. You did need to have that book though to look up the game in the computer.

PS- damn all of you who got early copies
Yes, it's possible. I've had it doe for me several times...and next time...make fuss. Employees need to learn how to treat asociates. I am a sales associate and I treat all my customers with respect. when I don't get the same respect when I'm a customer you'd better believe I'm going to be an A-hole...especially lazy bastards like the one that helped you.

I may be wrong on this but I don't remember portable games ever being a part of the buy 2 get 1 free sale before. Like you I'm hoping I'm wrong or that changes because honestly that's the only system with 3 must have games on my list at this point.
I went into my Gamestop here in Phoenix and they said the 5th, I was hoping to get it today. I even traded in a bunch of crap I didnt want anymore. Got the game covered now.
I also wandered town hoping someplace would get it before my store does (impatience). I'll probably have to get it at GS if we don't get the strategy guide; I'm a sucker for those DJ guides.
Personally, I'll be getting Trauma Center instead, but I'd love to hear some CAG reports!
word. i can't wait for trauma center. did u guys ever play life or death back in sexy CGA? i'll get castlevania eventually but no rush. i do need tc & virtua tennis immediately tho
*gasp* They've published awesome guides for Disgaea, Phantom Brave, SMT: Nocturne, and Genji. Good stuff.
Do their guides have glossy pages?
Do their guides have glossy pages?
I think a couple of them have, can't remember. Huge content. They're about the size of a 350 pg paperback novel since after Disgaea. I have to wonder just how much information you can get out of a castlevania game into a book that size though. *shrugs* Who knows. Guess we'll find out.
gizmogc: Ah. They also publish the new Hardcore Gamer magazine, where you can read reviews on North vs. South still. XD
My Castlevania appeared to be ing reshrink wrapped...Why does gamestop do that? It kind of pisses me off.
Just got back from GS, and my copy looked to be re-wrapped also except for the fact that I saw the guy pull it out of a UPS box so i wouldn't worry about it too much.
Just got back from an extended lunch break. Managed to pick up Castlevania (at Gamestop) and Trauma Center (at EB). It was a bitch fighting traffic across town, but I got what I wanted. And I picked up a set of the Hori DS screen protectors too.

My respect to people like you. Anyway. I still gotta wait until my cousin give me back my DS.

ebgames does that too. bregames does too. It's just weird.
What a miserable day. I'm so pissed that I'm going to wait to play this one. Didn't find it anywhere, but was told to wait 15 minutes many, many times are 3 different places.
