The Official Castlevania -Dawn of Sorrow Discussion Thread

Oh well, Best Buy doesn't have it here today either. Hopefully tomorrow (the start of a 4 day weekend after class! :D )
Just got back from GS, and my copy looked to be re-wrapped also except for the fact that I saw the guy pull it out of a UPS box so i wouldn't worry about it too much.
Do they need to open it and put a security device in?

Best Buy has always been scheduled to have it on Thursday... the easiest way to tell is to check the release date on their website.

Some people were getting it as soon as yesterday at Best Buys. I just called the two near me so no big deal... so tempted to get Trauma Center when I go get Castlevania too...

not sure if this will apply to everyone, but we got 4 copies of Castlevania: DS today at work (TRU). (we already sold 3 by the time I got there). I am pretty surprised they didn't send us that many, but I am glad to finally have this in my hands :)

EB I think got Trauma Center in today, when I checked today at around 2, they had more than 10 copies. Also they got in copies of Castlevania, but all were for pre-orders only. Not sure how many copies they had.

Got it today....pretty awesome so far. Between this and TC, today is a great day to be a DS owner.

Yea, that's a rare occurance though, that they receive it early. Usually if you when the open on the day the website says it ships, they'll have it in store, and it beats calling / driving to find it.

Best Buy is getting Castlevania tommorrow, Truama Center on Friday (offcially... it may be in tommorrow as well), I think I can wait a day or two and get the games for $25 and $20, respectively. Hell, even if they don't take the $10 coupon, I can always just GGC both games.

I was so tempted to run to Gamestop today to buy both games... but damn, that $20 I'll save can go straight into gas, that's quite a savings. At least I have DDS 2 to keep me company =D

You know...after playing this for about an hour, i realize how horrible the DSes D-pad it. My thumb is all cramped and it hurts like hell. I don't know if it's where it's placed or if i'm not holding it correctly, but this is the first time it's become painful.

I agree with you man, I had the same problem.
What's the cheapest price and where?
I've not heard of any deals... I think it's just $35 everywhere at this point.
What are the default controls for this?
everything is pretty much the same control-wise as Aria of Sorrow. the only difference is the X button lets you switch betwee 2 equipment sets, the Y button unleashes a super move, A is is attack and B is jump.
What's the cheapest price and where?
Can use a semi YMMV $10 dollar off coupon at Best Buy to score this for $25.

As much as I love Doublejump, I can't pay for a guide that's more than 50% the cost of the game :(

http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product_id=831886

This is the first guide of theirs I will pass on... I probably won't get the Genji guide either. I remember reading that DJPubba, the guy who runs the whole show, was going to make the guide less pricey since the MSRP of the game is only $35... I guess that didn't work out like he planned it.

The more I think about it, the more I just may pick it up... chances are they aren't going to print alot out, so it should hold it's value pretty well, if I ever decide to sell it off or I don't like it.

Roufuss, I plan on picking up the guide just because I know it will hold its value, if not go up.

As per the game...does it look a bit washed outto anyone? Maybe its because I have been using my GBA SPII and Micro...but the screen seems so dark and washed out on the bottom.
no
We didn't get the guide in at work today either, but if your local Gamestops haven't gotten it in yet, keep checking back. The one I called today had an "active" status on the item, so at least my store will be getting it soon.

A little, but the Micro and SPII LCDs are better than the DS. It was kind of hard playing it in sunlight. I'm lovin' it though.

Good luck finding it. For fun I called several stores and all were sold out within an hour or two of hitting the shelves. Hopefully Konami will be making more then the 500 copies they did of Aria of Sorrow (Kidding on amount...but still)

I found a place online that is selling it for $33 something. The weird part is when I click a link for 10% off on a different website that was advertisng coupons to that website, I got $10 off instead of 10%. So the total was $25.38 shipped. Too bad I already have the game.

Did Canada not even get this game? -_-;

I've talked to numerous people from various cities across Canada, and no stores even expect to get this. None here even knew Castlevania DS was coming out, and when I asked for Dawn of Sorrow, they said that "No, it's ARIA of Sorrow, and thats been sold out for a long time". -_-;

I hate Canada.
Okay I was wrong on the total its 49 cents cheaper so it came out to be $24.89 shipped.
Mind telling us where you found that deal? :D

Its at overstock. But I have to go find the other website that was hosting the coupon. I'll be back in 5 minutes!

P.S. I'm not bs-ing.
I'll be back in 5 minutes!
God-speed, friend. The fate of my checking balance rests in your hands.

The Best Buy I work at had it tonight, but I was on the clock and couldn't pick i up. I'll try to snag it tomorrow morning some time.

http://www.consumernow.com/Overstock_coupon

Click on the 10% off $75 purchase. I didn't have anything that was over $75 on my cart. I only have one game in my cart. It was weird because I was planing to add other games to my cart to actually get 10% off my $75 purchase but I just notice it took $10 off on one game that wasn't even $75 or over. Plus it was suppose to be 10% off not $10 dollars. The game was Kirby than I saw castlevania and empty my cart to see if it works on other games and boom it did! Well just Kirby and Castlevania nothing else seem to work.

Just tried it, and while it is doing a discount under $75, it's for 10%, not $10.

Looks to be fixed, as I'm only getting $3.35 off when I add it to my cart. Thanks for the coupon, but I think I'm gonna have to pass if it's almost the same price as in-store.

Well try again and again! Do you know how to make a screen cap?

My sister have a digital camera but my cousin is borrowing it. If I would have that I might be able to post the pics online but I don't know how to do that either. Damn! I'm not lying trust me!

Heh, I don't think you're lying. It's just only working for you for some reason. Consider yourself lucky, and thanks for trying to help the rest of us. ;)
I will post pics or provide any evdience mark my word! I'll try to get that digital camera asap!
Calm down brother. These things happen. Some deals go through, some don't. It won't be hard to find it for a similar price.
I won't rest until I provide those evidence.
Well, if you're that adament to prove yourself, then you should post a screencap. It's really easy.

1) Make sure the area that you want to document is visible on the monitor.

2) Look to the right of your F1-F12 keys and you should see a key called PrtScn (print screen). Press it, and a copy of the image on your screen is copied to your clipboard.

3) Open Paint (or any other image-editing software), and Copy. From there, you can save the file and upload it to the net using imageshack or any other uploading site.

More than likely its in your cookies/cache so when you do it, it pops up pre fix whereas everybody else is post fix.

If you are lying (which I dont think so) you got me fooled. Ive never seen somebody work so hard to prove themselves when it totally doesnt matter.
