Jackass.

I have 6 more invites, and I don't want or need anything for them. All I ask is that you not PM me. Post here in this thread with "Banky, invite me!" and your email address (so I know who wants one from me and where to send it) and I'll hook you up. For free. No strings attached.

Don't let these referral assholes pull you into their scams.

Thanks, eshbums.
Hey, meister, Whipsmart pegged you perfectly. Jackass! You make other newbies look bad. No wonder the vets have no patience for this crap. I don't blame them.

Sure thing. What's your email address?

I'm beginning to think Meister's just one of those assclowns who copies and pastes his referral requests on every message board he can find to spam.

I hope the two dumbasses who are giving this shithead referrals for Gmail invites aren't CAGs...

Just a quick question -- and a little personal background -- for those of you giving away endless invites...

I've had my gmail account for nearly three months and have been given one invitation, which I sent to a friend of mine. I'm currently using gmail as a back-up account, and it doesn't see much usage.

My first question would be: How long have you had your account? Have those of you giving away these invites had your account for a while? Or are you still a gmail virgin who was randomly selected to send invites? Maybe it's something else, leading me to...

My second question would be: How much traffic does your mailbox see regularly? Do you use it as your primary e-mail, sending and receiving daily? Or is it just a back-up account, rarely used? One theory of mine is that your invites are reflected directly by how much traffic your mailbox has, if not by your seniority.

These are the only two things I can think of that would affect why some people are getting invites to give away, and others are not. Perhaps it's all just random, but let me know your personal status if you can.

Sure you're not a QA rep for Google?

How long have you had your account? Since mid-June.

Have those of you giving away these invites had your account for a while? I got invites within a few days of activating my account initially. After that, periodically. They dried up through July and most of August, now I get more usually within 24-48 hours every time I run out. In fact, I gave one out earlier today, knocked me down to 5, and when I logged in this evening, I was back up to 6.

Or are you still a gmail virgin who was randomly selected to send invites? Nope.

How much traffic does your mailbox see regularly? Zilch, other than acceptance notifications about those who accepted my Gmail invitations.

Do you use it as your primary e-mail, sending and receiving daily? Nope.

Or is it just a back-up account, rarely used? Yep.

Not even 30 minutes after posting this, I decided I'd check my account for shits and giggles, and found:

You have 6 Gmail invitations. Invite a friend to join Gmail!

Now the question is, WSB, are you sure you don't work for google? That's awfully coincidental :)

But seriously... I gave my friend my first invitation less than 48 hours ago, so it would seem that the more you invite, the more you get. Now before I get PMs about the invites, hold your horses; I've got a couple more friends with priority, and I'll post them here if I get more.

I probably should be, considering how many invites I've been giving away. I posted 36 to CAG users in the last month before I stopped keeping track. Most of them were claimed too. I think there's only a couple who never activated their account, so you may be right about "the more you invite, the more you get" hypothesis.

How long have you had your account? About two weeks.

Have those of you giving away these invites had your account for a while? As soon as I opened my account I had 6 invites, which I immediately used.

Or are you still a gmail virgin who was randomly selected to send invites? Apparently.

How much traffic does your mailbox see regularly? None, except for invite acceptance notifications.

Do you use it as your primary e-mail, sending and receiving daily? No.

Or is it just a back-up account, rarely used? That'd be it.

So far I've sent out 19 invites, and I currently have 5 available.
