I decided to check out the wiki articles on all the books, and it seems the american and the british editions of the books have different illustrators, and they have a different number of pages. Why is the page number different, smaller text size? I hope it is, wouldn't want to be missing out on anything.
As far as illustators, it's funny, the american publication has always had the same illustrator, while over the course of the 7 books, the british publication has had 4. I like the Harry drawn by Jason Cockcroft (5, 6 and 7) more than the american illustrator Mary Grandpre, Mary the way Mary depicts Harry he kind of looks like a weak child, but he grows over the series into a powerful wizard, brave, mature, and yet his face is drawn exactly the same way. Jason, from what I can tell of the British edition's covers, draws him to look pretty badass, even though he has a slightly fearful expression on both the 6th and 7th covers (5th is a phoenix), he still looks pretty awesome. The other 4 british illustators make Harry look more lame and weird than the american one, so meh at them.
Anyone know where I can check out the british chapter pictures, and the full cover (with back) of the british editions, I'd like to see more of the british illustrations and compare them to the american ones.
Oh yeah, and does anyone besides me think that Dan, Emma, and Rupert don't fit too well as Harry Hermione and Ron? I like them all, but they just kind of don't fit, Rupert is pretty close to Ron imo, Dan is alright, he doesn't remind me of Harry that much, and Emma is growing away from the role, 1 and 2 she was Hermione, but now she has to almost force it to fit into the role. I don't know who else could;ve played them, but I'm hoping eventually there will be remakes and they'll cast actors that fit the roles better. Like I said, I like Dan, Emma, and Rupert, but they kind of don't fit it in my mind like I'd like them to. The rest of the cast is fine, Ginny is a little more plump around the face than I would've imagined (thought Bonnie Wright fits the role fine, I always got a hot vibe from Ginny and Bonne doesn't dissapoint), Fred and George are nearly perfect, Malfow and his crew fit well too, I especially like Malfoy, and the rest of the cast fits pretty well, not in enough scenes to notice many faults I suppose. EDIT: Dumbledore was perfect in 1 and 2, so unfortunate he died, the Dumbledore for 3, 4, and 5, has too short a beard, and is way too aggressive, completely the opposite of who Dumbledore is in the books. Seriously casting peoplez, seriously.
