I picked up Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker today for $20 at Kmart.
 
An update to the PDS reseal issue from a few pages ago: the seller never got back to me after that (not even to give me the address to send the game back), so I filed a claim. eBay gives sellers seven days to respond after a case is opened, but the guy didn't even bother, so I got a full refund.

Well, he just sent me an e-mail asking when he could expect the game. I guess I should send it back. It's not like I have any need for a used game, anyway. I could just turn around and flip it, but part of me would feel guilty.

Although, it would cost me money to send it back.
 
tell him you will sell it back to him as a resealed used game for $100, or that you filed the dispute through ebay, they never responded, the item is considered abandoned and the auction as well as all aspects of the item and sale are forfeited.

Just pulled the trigger on getting a PS3 with a 40GB HD (old version, I know...) for 168.30 after BCB from eBay. I know I could of probably gotten away a little cheaper if I waited but I am pretty happy with the deal overall. Much better than getting a $300 PS3 new at Best Buy anyways... I could care less about the slim and I doubt I will be needing all the space in the HD anyways.

Was expecting some kind of very visible damage on the DS Lite because I've seen them listed in the $70-80's, but I can't find anything. Smells new, no finger prints until I got my hands on it. Weird thing was the registration paper that came with it was used, but the number on the back of the DS was unused for registration.

Anyone know of something I should be checking for inspection? Turned on fine got it all set up, looks fine... but have no games to play and won't for a while.

Now to scratch the Pokemon itch I've had since elementary. Hopefully the Goozex line moves at a good pace for those.

That wasn't really called for. He didn't really post anything to be retaliated against. Plus, feeding trolls is bad.

Also, Watchmen for $15 is a pretty good pickup. I got it at $20, and I still feel good about the purchase. The Blu-Ray is well worth the price.

It was really the "Freaking AMAZING" comment that made me respond like that. I just imagine him talking like he does in his YT vids, and I just want to punch myself in the ears for listening to it.

The Watchmen Game is readily available around $20. While $15 is a deal, he could have saved $4 and got a "highly underrated" game for $11. The movie is just a plus for the Watchmen game

I bought a 360 from eBay before. The wireless controllers were shiny from the plastic being worn down by grease. I figured no big deal. The cracks though were dark brown, and smelled horrible.

Worst thing was I took it apart, and there was like Doritos & hand dirt collecting inside the triggers. I literally took all the circuitry out, and threw everything in a bucket w/dish detergent and left it overnight.

Oh and to answer your question, if you get an old toothbrush + your choice of cleaner, you can do wonders to clean a controller of any dirt or smell.

Once you get your refund, report the guy to eBay for Feedback Extortion. They take that seriously for some reason and will probably suspend the seller indefinitely or at the least, for 30 days. :bouncy:

wow, I should post in this thread. I didn't know cag had one of these like GAF did. It makes sense, because we buy so much stuff.

I reccomend the "real pics or ban" rule from GAF as well. Nobody likes tons of posts just in words. Need pics!

No shit. The controllers are brand new and have never been touched, so it's not like they were dirty. It's just that the smell managed to get through the packaging. I wonder what their house must smell like to someone walking in there for the first time.

sorry dude, never checked it on a mobile site, and i find the heavy contrast to the off gray shows up much better than the light grey default text ( notice the usage of both " gray " words, google it lol ) and all of my tradelist uses it so when i post them here, i copy paste em to my list. if anyone else has a problem with it, i can always look into a more aesthetically pleasing hue.

You have to be a pretty disgusting smoker to get your stuff smelling. Like, chain smoking inside with no windows open, no ventilation, no fans on, all day/night. I consider myself a heavy smoker, but my apartment rarely smells of smoke.

Every smoker I've ever known says they can't smell smoke, but most of the time it's because they're just used to it.
 
I wouldn't call them ruined. Plus, they've had 17 years to absorb the smell. Well, I don't know if that was because of the original owner, or the resellers that bought them.

I remember I bought a bundle on eBay for real cheap, was so happy when it got delivered because I thought it might be too good to be true.

Opened up the box and the stench of cigarettes was horrible. Sucked because it included the :360: chatpad/wireless headset which I wanted to use. Headset still has the smell of cigarettes after 2 - 3 months. :puke:

well, when my own mother, who would be the quickest to call me out smoke smell, says she can't smell it, then I'm pretty confident about it.

But my point is that it would be downright difficult to smoke enough to make games, systems, and controllers smell. Unless you smoke while playing.
 
Well halfway through the month and I'm on a pretty good pickup spree so far...

Easily my favorite pickup so far. I bought it off a fellow CAG for $160, and he even threw in a 16GB stick! I ended up selling my PSP-1001 for $120($100 after commission/shipping) so I think it was well worth the upgrade.

Who says Goozex is dying? I request the two Phantasy Star games as complete, and their conditions were far better than I was expecting. Dragon Warrior II I had requested as DO, and got very lucky and got a complete copy in absolute pristine condition. If that doesn't deserve a tip on the site, I'm not sure what does.
