The Official NFL Draft Thread
how you know? he's not even there.

Cleveland took the safe pick. Crennel's job is on the line this season
o could of sworn thats the white guy they showed on tv with no reaction
that was pretty boy quinn
Quinn should be happy. If he was picked by Cleveland, he would be crushed like a grape because Joe Thomas wasn't there.

Joe Thomas to Cleveland

"I felt a disturbance in the Force...as if a million Cleveland cows and golddiggers suddenly shrieked in lament and horror."
laron landry to the Skins
Argh, why couldn't the Redskins continue their tradition of stupidity and trade to the Bears and pick up Briggs? Urgh
Wow... another WR for Detroit... :/
Dude but you cant fucking pass on talent like that man.

Roy williams is a very good WR but thats all the Lions have at that spot. Furry was good last year but he isnt a great player. The rest of the lions WR are sub par to average at best.

Now all they really need is to find a QB that can fucking throw to him.

You gotta love how EA's not even showing a single shot of Madden this year (so far). Did they last year? Also, you gotta love how ESPN is starting to treat 'Brady in free-fall' as some sort of national crisis.

P.S. I've been away from the T.V. for a few. Did they show the (most likely all-CG) Call of Duty 4 commercial yet?

HOLY SHIT on a stick. The redskins got another DB. Damn...their secondary is looking phat as hell. They are going to be a hard team to pass on next year.

Damn. I know the Rams have Marc Bulger who is a great QB, but if Quinn falls to their pick, how can you pass him up?

SF won't take him, HOU won't take him.
ted ginn to the dolphins
5'11", 175lbs.

Welcome to punt returning, Teddy.

I -really- didn't think he'd go this early.

If St. Louis is smart, they'll take Quinn to take over for Bulger in the next couple of years. Otherwise, he could drop really far.

Hey, Ginn can be a gamebreaker. You might be thinking differently had he played past the opening kickoff in the National Championship game.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I still gasped.

It's a definite reach. Miami could have traded down and gotten Ginn in the 20 range if they were that in love with him.
Do the Fish have a trade a-brewin' or are they just dumb?
Just dumb. If they were going to do anything aside from Quinn they should have went defense.

Someone is going to trade up and snatch Quinn. I could see someone like Detroit ditching some of their later picks to get up there and get him.

Chicago had Devin Hester bringing the opening kick back in the Super Bowl, but it didn't break the game open for the Bears. I think kickoffs, while important, aren't worth 9 in the draft.

Ginn MAY be a gamebreaker but no one had him going that high because he's quite questionable. QB is still a bigger need for the Fish, not to mention that this draft is way, way deeper at WR than QB. I don't get it and don't like it unless they were picking for someone else.

That'd be nice, at least the Lions would HAVE a qb then.

Exactly. Look at the Phillip Rivers situation. Just keep Quinn on the bench for x amount of years and he will be ready to step in when Bulger is done (which in QB yrs could me this year, you never know).

Uggggh.

Who was that 19 year old defense player that everyone said was going to be great? Akoya (sp) I cant find his name anywhere on the draft boards.

Where do you guys think Troy Smith will end up? It may just be me but I think he is going to a better tha Quinn in a heartbeat.

I think NFL teams are truely missing out on not drafting him.....who ever gets him is going to be happy trust me.

Akoyle, I believe.

Really, I see Ginn as a Desmond Howard type. Tons of speed and the ability to contribute as a receiver. I just don't think he's going to get much of a chance to play other than returning. I saw him play in HS, and he was fast then. He's even faster now.

Who knows with Quinn though. I saw him going to Cleveland, but them taking Thomas says they're actually committed to protecting Charlie Frye and gaining some rushing yards this season.

Frisco might take him.

But again .....I really could care less about Quinn, I dont think he will do well in his first 4 or 5 years in the NFL.

See, what happened is Miami wanted Quinn, but a dropped cell phone call made it sound like Ginn.

Actually, I've got no idea. Quinn's STILL there with the Texans taking Okoye.
Wow. I don't know if anyone called that one. ESPN is making this into a soap opera.
rightfully so because 3 teams with huge QB need drafted positions where there wasnt a need. i can understand Johnson and Thomas as Best player available but Ted Ginn Jr??????????????????????????????????????????????

they could have traded down and garnerd more picks and still get him at 15-19. he is defitinley not a top 10 draft pick...the dolphins IMO hit rock bottom and have to look up from here.

Hey were are you guys going to get like interviews and such from the draft. Like insights and things.

ESPN.com doesnt have shit going on....they update like every 5 picks or something....I cant watch this on TV.
amobi okoye to the texans. i like the pick
he looks good i hope he doesnt turn out to be a Travis Johnson.

Edit: scratch that. their Dline looks good right now.

Try nfl.com ;)
Patrick Willis to the 49ers
As a Niner fan no surprise there. With Quinn on the board I was thinking maybe but the Niners have put way to much time and money to give up on Smith now. I think Willis will be a great fit for them.

im speechless now. well the bills will now officially finish in last place. 4-12 anyone? was Willis that huge? im thinking losing Nate Clements and Fletcher were bigger...

I guess the Fins must like Stanton/Beck/Edwards better than Quinn. I still can't believe they took Ginn. We have far bigger needs that could've been addressed with that pick.
