dallow is definitely going a bit crazy with all of the icons, but I'll tell ya: I went a solid year or more with my screen full of icons (actually several screens worth, I had to view my desktop in Explorer to see everything), and it was fine; I knew the location of everything I needed often on the desktop, and I had no problems with it. In fact, in some ways it made things easier; I had a ton of icons and I'd just type the first few letters of what I wanted and press enter, and boom, I was there. So I can see where he's coming from with all of the icons!

Haha, yeah, it's pretty bad.
Anything I download or save goes to the desktop.
When it gets full, I put everything in its place.
 
I'll have to fire up the Ubuntu tomorrow and upload both of mine.

That's the old laptop I rescued running Feisty Fawn 7.04. The XP machine is running a program that shows the real-time moving shadows on Earth.

Hey spillcanvas .. you probably answered this before but what is that music program you're operating that displays in the bottom center and shows the album picture in the bottom right?

And thanks for the link captainfrizo .. I've been using that picture on my work computer since you posted it.

Avedesk with the Avetunes plugin. Link.

Download the Avetunes plugin (it's on the site), and extract it to the desklets subfolder of Avedesk.

Double click the Avedesk icon in your system tray to bring up the desklet control panel. From there, click desklets, then add. Select avetunes and it'll load up.

Hmmm. I'm running winamp and I'm pretty pleased with it and I dont care for itunes all that much. But that set up looks damn cool. Hmmm ....

Looks like I was wrong. AveTunes 4 supports Winamp, but not fully.

To use it you will need:

AveTunes 4: Download
ActiveWinamp plugin for Winamp: Details & download

No idea how well it works, since I use iTunes, but it's worth a shot.
