The Official Square/Enix Members Info Thread (Year 2012-13)

Ahh! I've wanted that Black Butler artwork for the longest time! But they're so pricey. I'd be happy if that was a prize, but I doubt it since it's not popular enough here.

They actually have quite a few art plates. The ones I know that were available before: Saga 3 Shadow or Light, Black Butler, FFXIII, Nier, The Last Remnant, Dragon Quest, Sigma Harmonics, Star Ocean The Last Hope, FF Crystal Chronicles (Echoes of Time?), one of the Mana games (Seiken Densetsu), one of the Chocobo games (Chocobo Dungeons?), Final Fantasy Tactics A2, and I think FFXII Revenant Wings.

If they're going to give a previous art plate as a reward this year, then I'd want the Chocobo one or any of the Final Fantasy ones. I still want a handheld though, like a PSP or DS or something. They're cheap now. They should engrave them and give them as rewards for making the ultimate tier so hard to reach this year.

a bit off topic, I changed my mind on trying to buy a replacement PS3, don't seem like its gonna happen =( So instead I put in a bid for kinect, saw a video for the starwars kinect and it made me laugh, now I want it, lol
so is someone gonna make a new thread for the following year, or just keep it going on this one?
Keep the same one a-going. The last one wasn't being updated frequency by the OP. Ralph was kind enough to restart it and he's posting updates regularly. Just gotta edit the title to 2012 and we should be golden for next year.

Oh, well that's neat. I guess I'll have a wall filled with Square Enix artplates in a couple of years then. Hopefully Final Fantasy Tactics A2 will never grace it.

If you're after that BB plate, there's one on ebay right now, a bit pricey though at 180USD.

don't know what was wrong with tactics a2. I thought the game was alright, still never beat it, but it is fun just like any other fft game

I tried Starwars Kinect in october last year and it wasn't very good... I hope it's gonna be better than what i played

Keeping the same, planing on a Big update on April 1st

Just barely got to gold, and I think I might've gotten screwed. I own the CE to FFXIV, but the code in the box was for the regular edition of FFXIV. Did this happen to anyone else? According to my spreadsheet, the CE is 91016, regular edition is 91003.

if anyone has a spare Army Corps of Hell code, I need it, willing to give a couple codes for it, please let me know. I don't need it till April 1st, but if you need codes sooner, will be willing to give first

WHAT??!? I can see it being compared to Tactics Advance, but it is in no way shape or form as fun as Final Fantasy Tactics.

I would slaughter innocent bunnies for a 'true' sequel to FFT.

Does anyone know if Square Enix servers run on Eastern time or Western time? Because if it's Eastern, Western people will have to get their codes in by 9 pm and not 12 am.

Just a thought that popped in my head, since I'm still working on codes. Willing to pay a lot of money via Paypal, so check my list over at the trading thread linked in the OP.

Updated Post for Year 2012-2013, been a year already i've been managing this thread and i must say i'm having fun ^^, Thx everyone for folloing it.

I made some change to the order in the OP, to make it more clear. The active promo/early bonus are 1st followed by the upcoming game, the released game and the expired promo/early registration, think it make more sense like this and it's easier to read. Let me know what you think!
so its a new year now.. I registered my games today, I am at 350 points and still regular..
By regular you mean bronze ? or you don't have bronze yet?
By regular you mean bronze ? or you don't have bronze yet?
yeah, not even to bronze yet.. I wonder if there are loads of games and thats why its not even bronze yet. Or like the second year, maybe it'll be awhile till they decide what the point cap is.

Glad to know. I'll hold off on entering any codes right now.

should be fine though. Probably if you hit 500 points and still just a regular or bronze is when you'd want to hold off until a bit later.

I'm in no rush. Since this program is a joke and nothing like Club Nintendo or Disney Movie Rewards with items to earn regularly with points, I can wait... we do have another twelve whole months from here...

yeah really, we do got loads of time. The first year wasn't a joke though, ipod touch is very nice. The artwork is kinda boring, hopefully it will be something electronic again. What I'm hoping is this.. First year great, second year sucks (because of that hopefully a good prize this year..). But what I bet it'll be 2 years of bad prizes, then they'll see the drop in people buying and following year be a great prize again to draw us back.

But who knows really, just my thought on it

I just don't understand the point of a rewards program without rewards to earn. The once a year thing is impossible to hit if you already hit it once from what I'm understanding, so I just don't see much value in the program.

2011 for the program is my first year as I learned about the program in the end of last year. We'll see how it goes...

So far, I've reached Ultimate status two years in a row (2011, and 2010), and if I started with 2009, I wouldn't have been able to reach it for 2011 because of the lack of games. People are utterly forced to make new accounts and "start over".

that seems like the draw back so far. That and having to buy same game on multiplatforms. It will suck if the reward is an artplate because of that. Not worth having to buy deus ex 3 times over =(

I buy most of the codes for each year, and my rule is spending less than the cost of a brand new game, $60.

I think I spent less than $45 to reach Ultimate this year, since I hardly ever buy SE games on a regular basis.

thats a good rule of thumb =) If you've made a new account, please let me know if you get the reward sent to the same address, or do you change to a different? Thats the thing I'm worried about, don't want to send to same place and if I do something bad happen from trying it.

I just wish SE members would step up the game and GIVE an extra reward to next year members, seeing as there doesn't seem like an incentive so far for keeping the same account

Actually I've hit Ultimate status all 3 years on the same account. It's not that hard. I can easily hit it again next year.

Also the value in the program is that they actually give good gifts that have actual value instead of the crap other rewards programs give like the Nintendo one. Last time I checked I would be able to sell the stuff I got the past 2 years for probably $300.

This is the first time I did this thingy, I had so many of these codes but sold a few of the games and forgot the codes in them. I got 230 points from what I still have, hopefully I get something.

How does this work? Do I need to redeem something or is it all automatic?

I remember someone stating it isn't possible to be eligible year after year unless you buy every game for every console including PC.

Obviously no one does this so I assume you trade/buy codes. And even doing so, were there enough new games in 2011 to be eligible?

I just checked my account page & saw this:

"In 2012, you need 99999 more points to become a Gold member."

Obviously a mistake, but still humorous never the less.

I just hope for the 2012 reward year, there's a lot more ways of earning points aside from games. They need to offer more online ways, such as those essays & early registrations.

Yes I buy or trade for codes from people. Also it is false that you have to every single game on every platform. I believe I still have about 5-6 games left that I could still register if not more.

Not that hard for a CAG, but how about for the people who actually do it the legit way and purchase the games :hot:. The way they set it up now, it's almost a requirement to trade codes and such, unless the person loves buying a game 3 times for each console.

yeah it is obviously possible to reach it year after year. I also have been an ultimate member from the start of it. So far I stand at 350 points (7 games) this year and am still a regular member. Seeing that other post saying you need 99999 points to reach the gold tier level is obvious that they don't have it worked out yet as to what the points needed for each tier will be. I'm probably at the bronze level with the 350 points.

Exactly. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't someone here mention in the past that if you bought every game released WITHOUT buying duplicates, that you couldn't possible hit ultimate in 2011, that there weren't even 20 individual games?

think I may have read that somewhere before, but thats false obviously enough. Unless they were thinking only buying one of each of the copies. If you did that, don't think it would of been possible, unless you did the bonus points stuff. Like the FFXI download for the game, 123 points, and statue

ouch. so it is advisable to make a new account it i wish to attain ultimate status?

i cannot re-register prior games so it seems only logical to start fresh and trade/steal/buy codes from various sources. obtaining 1000 points seems to be much easier this way

also i am getting the same need 999999 points message

lol. Last year I got a crappy bag and all the leftover preorder bonuses.
lol. Last year I got a crappy bag and all the leftover preorder bonuses.
I could never figure out how to put that bag back together. It was always bloated. I tried taking a damn iron to it and still failed.

Can't believe the Square Enix Member Gold reward was that poor after the high quality soundtrack/box from the previous one. Hopefully the gold reward doesn't flop this year.

I think once word got out about the iTouch they gave out a couple years back, and people became really aware of the rewards, they wised up and haven't been putting out as high end items anymore (comparatively). Who knows though, maybe they'll surprise us.

For those that will attend PAX, here's something interesting

Also at PAX East this year our Square Enix Members team is back, giving you an opportunity to sign up for some great Square Enix rewards. Not only will you be entered into the Members program, giving you gifts year upon year just for registering Square Enix games, but you'll also be entered into a variety of raffles for prizes on the show floor.

Also for those who have the time, drive, and pure love of gaming like I know you do, come by the booth, sign up for Square Enix Members (or register at the event if you're already a member) and receive a passport:

This passport is your ticket around all the games at the booth.
If you complete all the demos at the Square Enix Booth at PAX East and turn your passport back into Square Enix Members, you'll be entered to win a prize pack that includes every game from the show!
Every passport turned in automatically receives a free gift from Square Enix!
