The Official Super Paper Mario thread | Got what it takes to save the worlds?
I did that spoiler post just to anger some people. I won't do it anymore, though.
Hey, way to troll but at least you're quitting while you're ahead.

Ok, I started to search back through the thread but stopped when I saw the spoiler stuff starting to pop up. Anyway my question is how does the control scheme work in this game with the wiimote?

Have you read any reviews at all?

You hold it sideways. Dpad moves, 2 jumps, 1 uses pixl.

I'm through world 3. World 3 boss was great. I'm liking the story. Gonna go unlock and start world 4 soon.

Yes! I just finished world 3 too, and that boss was fun!!

What kind of answers did you give Peach? I made them all the last choice (the angry ones) and they were HILLARIOUS!! At the end she took out the pixl with the bomb power and blew the machine up, lmao!

No, I did not. A game like this is going to get a lot of "Best game ever!" and "What a piece of crap!" type reviews just because of the franchise and I did not feel like wading through dozens of those to find one unbiased review that may or may not tell me how the controls work. It's a must buy for me as long as the controls don't suck and they appear fine. I guess I will be looking for a copy come my lunch break on Monday.

I started out with the middle ones, but then did the first ones just for fun. At the end Peach got pissed and said someone other than her was answering for her, and did the same thing- blew the machine up.

Just got through 4-2. Interesting world.

I was peeking in the back of the guide, and man...

I'm gonna have a lot of fun even once the game is over. Colleting all the catch cards lookso so addicting! I also noticed 'Flopside'. I hope I unlock that soon, looks interesting

Loving it.
Just beat 3-1....damn. What a great game.
Right there at the same place, and I was laughing my tail off at the insider references in that world.

Spoiler for section 4-2. Past that and you're fine.

I loved that little dude having to go to the bathroom. It was even better when a Pixl came out! Hehe, easily one of my favorite levels just for that.
Has anyone finished the 100 level challenge? I want to know if it is worth my effort to try and finish that (again--died at Room 85!).
From looking in the back of my guide, there is indeed a reward.
Just beat 3-1....damn. What a great game.
Wait until you get the 3-4!!! You haven't seen anything yet!!!
Well, what does the guide say, sixersballernum3?
Didn't think you'd want such spoilers.

Flipside Pit, you get a Pixl. Flopside, you get some cards.

Edit: Just finished 4-4. Wow. That's really all I have to say. Awesome, awesome level.

Yes, that actually had me laughing outloud, and it is VERY rare I do that while gaming. Not quite Monkey Island level funny, but pretty close, and that's about the biggest compliment I can give.

I just finished the first world...doing my best not to read any of the posts in this thread that have a world-chapter number...just skimming really...and I have to admit I laughed out loud at the dialogue of the first world boss and the ensuing cutscenes. Some of the little touches, like the boss's eyes as he's thinking...truly great stuff.

Its obvious that both the developers and also the people who localized this game really love the Mario characters and universe.

Go back and talk to the villagers.

I finally played the...
ghost hunter minigame and I had a blast! I can't imagine playing that game with any other type of controller.

Just started playing this tonight and I must say I'm loving it, really fun game, another Ninty classic.

Only finished the first world so far, worth getting a Wii for IMO.

Level 3-4 = LOL moments ahoy:

1. "I think I'm going to buy it anyway, wait for it in the mail, then go on the internet and tell everyone it's stupid."

2. Boss Lizard> Let's get married.
Princess> So...how much do you make?

Sad realization in that chapter:
"True or False? I've got games I haven't opened." (true)

I am helping the wife through this game... And I was sitting besides her laughing at a lot of the above mentioned parts. I think she wondered why I thought it was so funny.

Enjoying the game so far. She almost threw the controller a few times in the earlier parts of world three. Oh gravity and impatience what it will do to you in a platformer..
Sorry if this has been answered before but could you play this game using the Classic Controller?
No, because of the pointing/shaking "features"

I finished the game a couple of days ago. Without much detail, I'd give it an 8.5/10.

I didn't care for the difficulty and some of the levels were annoying. Other than that it's a solid game.

I laughed outloud at that one, then hung my head in shame. :D

Just bought it with some EB trade-in credit, didn't really like it at first with the intro, RPG elements and figuring out the controls, but once it got to the platforming, it got really cool

Really great game, can't wait to play it more

i think this game is AMAZING, second best game on WII so far IMO, best being Zelda obviously. Im jus starting the 8th and final chapter before calling it a night, not seeing the ending yet its hard to give a rating but from chapter 1 - 7 id give it a solid 9
best being Zelda obviously.
Debatable. But, yes, great game. Haven't played much lately.

Just finished the main story of the game. Great game. Arbitrary rating: 8.5.

Some short comments about the game...(Not really spoilers, but I don't want to sway opinions.)
I felt the game really lost some momentum after Chapter 3 and never really got it back. Unlike a lot of people, I like chapter 6, including the area you travel to after 6-1. The chapter 7 fetch quests got old pretty quickly.
I really need to pick this game up. I haven't played anything new on my Wii since Warioware: Smooth Moves first dropped.
Same here. I think I am going to pick it up this weekend.

Just beat Chapter 5 last nite. Nice ending to the chapter, but did anyone else find the chapter 5 story to be pretty boring???

Wrapped up Chapter 2 and 3 today. 3 started out rough, but ended up my favorite so far. Lots of old school platforming in that one, for better and for worse, and my God was 3-4 hilarious.

Haven't had time to play this week at all since Sunday, so I'm still on I think 5-3.

I'll probably get through to at least World 7 by Sunday.

I prefer Thousand Year Door. It was the better adventure and had better difficulty. However this is pretty much the best overall game on the Wii right now in my honest opinion.

Man Luigi is a douche bag.

And Bowser owns this game. I refuse to hold any coversations without having Bowser as my character responding, if only for his dickhead responses.

Like when Chunk tells you in 5-2 for you to end him and Bowser responds 'Good idea... heh heh heh...." or in the next moment when Tippi mentions that the bad guys went into a pipe that was covered by a rock.

Bowser: What do you think I'm blind? Shut up.

I love it. Bowser needs his own game.

Finished world 5 last night. About to start 6. Can't wait to finish the game so I can start collecting the cards and recipes.

Looking for help right about now... between worlds 5 and 6.

I'm trying to get behind the fence on Flopside Floor 3, but I see no way to do so. Is there something I'm missing, or am I not far enough in the game yet? I know there's something over there that Piccolo can do, I think.

I was going to shoot for 100% on this, that is... obtaining all recipes/cards but I don't think I can do it.

I used to be quite the completionist, but I feel very unmotivated about it now.

That's what I want to do, but unless there's some kind of card/recipe FAQ online that tells me where to find recipe cards and the caught cards and shit, I probably won't.

Through 7-3. So so close. Can't wait to finish so I can try collecting cards, although I'll probably give up quickly.

haven't beat the game yet, just finished 7-4
then I went through the flipside pit of 100 trials and now going through the flopside one

Recipe collecting looks no fun at all and as for the card collecting, I'm about 3/4 done with the collection, too lazy to actually use capture cards on monsters so I use a good amount of coins buying the random cards at flipside card shop

flip on floor 2, go through the gate, make your way to the pipe and use tippi to reveal a platform to gain access to the pipe and the music block

Awesome, thanks for the help!

A tip for people who are sick of walking back and forth from flipside to flopside, obviously spoilers:
Flip on floor 3, I think, of Flopside and all the way to the left (front in this case) there's a fellow who will set up pipes on floor three of both Flip and Flop for 300 coins so you can use them.
