The Omen remake: Yay or Nay?
There's an Omen remake? When was this announced?
Updated the OP. Check out the trailer.

You forgot the possible answer of, I can watch films about Satan, but not when they look like terrible bastardizations of a quality film. Unless I hear great reviews, I'll stick with my dvd of the original.

ditto.
I never saw the original, and the trailer cracks me up. So maybe I'll see it, but the poll sucks.
Yeah, I would've said yes if not for the commentary. I don't know that it looks better than the original but I wouldn't say no just because it features satanic things.

I dont mind re-visionings, but remakes where all they do is replace the older, mature actors with 20-somethings and try to film the thing like it was a 2 hour music video......those make me sick.

Add to this list of bastardizations: Poseidon

Thats a freakin IRWIN ALLEN film, damnit (Lost In Space!?)...you don't fuck with the master....

Remaking THE OMEN is, frankly, sacrilidge. Pretty soon we'll be seeing remakes of Exorcist, Poltergeist.

And then...not toolong from now...a remake of The Terminator, Predator....a remake of T2..... :D

The original was a classic horror flick. I especially dig that evil dog.

I'm not sure about the remake though. I think Hollywood sucks soo I would vote for "I'll wait and see" category...

Oh by the way, on 6/6/06 (the day the Omen remake opens) I will be listening to Slayer.

Omen was the better of the 80's horror flicks, but when up against The Excorist III, Lawnmower Man, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, and Leprechaun, that's not saying much.

It actually came out in 1976, in a decade where it's up against (and stands up admirably with) The Exorcist, The Shining, Dawn of the Dead, Suspiria, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc. Much better company.

I think they should remake bad movies (to make them better).....They should not remake great films.
