If they did the 537H, it's essentially the same as the 237T at Target. If they did another set, then I'd have to go back to the Olevia site to see how it compares.
Yep it was the 537H that CR reviewed and the 237T is the model that Target currently has. You know your stuff.

I think I'm going to use my tax rebate money and donate it to the Bush campaign. I really hate to see him leave office.

He can talk about how he loves multiquote, but can also give us an old man spiel about "back in my day we didn't have multiquote and i used to have to do all of this by hand."

Good luck with that one. Meanwhile my tax money is going towards an new HDTV. One perferably NOT from companies with names such as Westingtonhouse and..... Olivia.
I need a sarcasm detector. Or a stupid detector. Or both.

I think one or the other would be going off the charts at the moment, though.
Would be both, honestly. :D

In any case, such detectors wouldn't work on CAG. Too much abundance of both.

So, has anybody read how much people will get back exactly? The article on CNN states $300-$600 if you make $75,000 or less.  I better get $600 dammit.
Thanks, frosty.

Not all cable vendors give cables for free and if they do, they're crap cables.
The cables they gave me seem standard -- I like the HDMI better, but I hate the stupid bug that occurs between the box and my TV. But it does it regardless of the cable, so I left it as HDMI, though I'm tempted to switch, because the HDMI inputs on here share settings, which means I can't leave the 360/ps3 at full rez and have the TV at "full" instead of "standard" to get rid of the garbage from the closed captioning.

The bug, btw, is that when I switch from an input other than the STB input back to the STB, the settings for the DVR/HDbox get borked and it stays in 480p no matter what, sometimes with no sound. But if I switch to a different channel and force the rez to switch, and switch back, it'll redetect and apply the correct settings again. So odd.
There aren't even any HDTV brands by those names, FridgeLifterMan.

Stop making shit up. :[
Sure... as soon as you get rid of that annoying avatar. ;)
chika, the cookie things were amazing.

Thank you!
Hey, I paid the postage!

I'll make sure she knows you got them and such, in case she pulls a FINRATS later.

I like money. I like free rebates. When does mine show up? And out of curiousity, what do people who made more than 75k get?
I'm sure it's proportional to income, so I'm sure you can take a guess at it.

I thought it was $600 for single with income under $75K and $1200 for married with total income under $150K. The CNN article says it's a range for single and $1200 for married. :whistle2:s

Glad I'm moving away from the whole cable box scenario sometime this year.

They get fucked.

Actually it might phase out up to say $8XK or something but basically yeah they get boned.

I want free monies, gorramit! I better get some.

And how are you getting away from the cable box? I'd guess the whole digital signal of february of 2009 somehow, but the timeframe doesn't fit... thought that might alleviate the need for a cable box to feed your tivo?

I find it odd as this is the first I have heard of the $300-600 range. I have a feeling that my girlfriend and I will get fucked and only get $300 each. Maybe it is time to leech off the government and apply for food stamps.

Says the evil penguin who has me on ignore and used that very feature to see and quote my post. ;)

Y'know, if you google wubb or evil penguin, the first result is always the same:

Well, if it's a rebate, it makes sense that it's proportional to what was paid -- you don't get a $600 rebate for a product that costs $50, so it's only logical that someone who paid less taxes will have a lower rebate amount than those who paid more taxes in the same range qualifying for the rebate.

And then it would naturally follow that the higher earners should get totally fucked. Good ol' congress.

My guess is they are excluding the upper earners because it's less likely they'll run out and spend it all on crap thus not helping to stimulate the economy. Damn fat cats and their exotic 'saving accounts'.

After seeing Conan do the vocals awhile back, I want to do it too.

Sabotage as Edith Bunker?

Wonderwall as covered by Slayer?

Hell yes.

And how are you getting away from the cable box? I'd guess the whole digital signal of february of 2009 somehow, but the timeframe doesn't fit... thought that might alleviate the need for a cable box to feed your tivo?
Tivo HD's and Tivo Series 3 units have two CableCard slots, so you feed it a CableCard per tuner and you have full cablebox functionality without the cable box. Two CC's and you have dual recording. Plus, it's like $1-2/month for each CC instead of $6 for the box.

I'm going to swap out any Tivo's that are connected to cable boxes with Tivo HD's or Series 3's. Most likely a HD for a couple of them and possibly a Series 3 for my main Tivo that I use.

Better also make a youtube of you attempting to do drums+vocals while Chika plays guitar just be safe.
